AIBU to want all my money back?

My son wanted a green hoodie so I went on amazon and ordered him one. This is for the school disco and it is important that it is neon green.

Received the "neon green" hoodie today and it is actually yellow so I contacted them to say I received the wrong item.

They're telling me the yellow one I have received is green and that if I want to return it I'll have to pay the return postage myself and they'll refund my money once they've received it back.

It was only £7.99 so I probably won't bother, especially as the return postage will cost a fair chunk of that. But AIBU to think it is incredibly cheeky to send me the wrong item, try to convince me I'm colour blind and have actually received the correct item, and then try and make me pay for return postage???

That's green. It's not the same green as in the photo but it's green

AdalindSchade · 30/06/2017 15:09

It's pale neon green

BarbaraofSeville · 30/06/2017 15:12

It's high vis yellow and not the same colour as the picture.

namechange20050 · 30/06/2017 15:12

It's yellow. Y'all colour blind! Op I would be pissed off too.

Islacornx · 30/06/2017 15:15

Definitely yellow!

sayshellsunderwaterblblblb · 30/06/2017 15:16

green

PyongyangKipperbang · 30/06/2017 15:17

Looks yellow to me.

did you contact Amazon or the company that fulfilled the order? I found that the best way to deal with third party sellers is to go through Amazon as that is who you paid, they tend to be much more helpful. I dont buy from third parties via Amazon anymore, too many problems.

This picture must make it clear the hoodie is yellow?

I know for sure that the left highlighter is yellow and the right one is green (even if I'm colourblind, it said so on the pack when I bought them!), and surely the colour is more like the left highlighter?

It's one of those either/or colours.

I would say lime green, though.

SheSaidHeSaid · 30/06/2017 15:18

It's yellow!!!!

TheDevilMadeMeDoIt · 30/06/2017 15:19

What does your son think about the one you received? He's the one who'll be wearing it!

Nowwhatsthis · 30/06/2017 15:20

I went straight to the seller.

I'm not going to bother returning it, it's not worth the hassle. Especially not when the opinions on this differ so much on mumsnet.

It's bloody yellow! Grin

Benedikte2 · 30/06/2017 15:21

What does the yellow hoody look like in the ad, always supposing there was one?
Maybe it looks greener next to their yellow one?

luckylucky24 · 30/06/2017 15:21

It's yellow. 100%

alltouchedout · 30/06/2017 15:21

It looks green to me too, but a very different green to what is shown on the website.

Nowwhatsthis · 30/06/2017 15:22

They weren't selling a yellow one...

Its yellow. In fact the first pic I thought it was a shiny hi vis jacket! Has your son seen it? His thoughts are what matters after all.

Re sending it back check their terms and conditions on returns. you'll have 14 days to return but who pays varies. That said it certainly doesn't look like the colour on the website so I think you would have a good argument for free return. On the other hand could be useful for late night dog walks!

BloodWorries · 30/06/2017 15:24

It's yellow. It might look a bit green, but that last picture (with the highlighters) shows just how yellow it it.

Regardless of if it is yellow or green it is nothing like the green in the photo. I would contact amazon themselves, at the very least they need to know the seller is selling items that don't match the picture. I've found amazon to be good with stuff like this, and usually get a refund too.

DownstairsMixUp · 30/06/2017 15:24

The hoodie is like a high visibility yellow colour to me

MollyCule · 30/06/2017 15:24

Eh? Clearly yellow!

sweetbitter · 30/06/2017 15:24

It's looks yellowy green. Definitely not as green as the one in the seller's picture. I'd send them the pictures you've taken especially with the highlighters and make your point again, see what they say.
