AIBU to want all my money back?

My son wanted a green hoodie so I went on amazon and ordered him one. This is for the school disco and it is important that it is neon green.

Received the "neon green" hoodie today and it is actually yellow so I contacted them to say I received the wrong item.

They're telling me the yellow one I have received is green and that if I want to return it I'll have to pay the return postage myself and they'll refund my money once they've received it back.

It was only £7.99 so I probably won't bother, especially as the return postage will cost a fair chunk of that. But AIBU to think it is incredibly cheeky to send me the wrong item, try to convince me I'm colour blind and have actually received the correct item, and then try and make me pay for return postage???

I was going to also say tennis ball yellow!

PotatoesAreDelicious · 30/06/2017 15:59

I would send the seller the photo of the hoodie with the two highlighters on it.

I would say it was more yellow than green. It is not neon green. Maybe the seller is colourblind! Grin

IHateUncleJamie · 30/06/2017 16:01

Do a live chat with Amazon and ask why you should have to pay postage when the jacket is clearly fluoro yellow and not green. I'd also email the seller with the photos of highlighters and the one where you've put the green top on the yellow hoody.

Obviously if your DS loves the hoody then ignore me. 😂😂

Whatever colour it is, it's not the shade of the one in the photo advertised by Amazon . On that basis, they should allow you to return free of charge, I would think. However, you'll probably get told something like the shade can vary according to your computer monitor ie on some screens it will look more yellow than green or vice versa....to which, in your shoes, I would tell them the one on their site is a definite, no-doubt-about-it GREEN (the picture is even accompanied by the word green), whereas the one you have received could be perceived as not being a definite, no-doubt-about-it green..and that, in fact, many you've asked have said it's yellow!
Saying that, I think it's pretty decent for the money.

Was it sold and dispatched by Amazon? What do the other reviews say, if there are any?

NotTheDuchessOfCambridge · 30/06/2017 16:05

It's yellow, neon yellow. Definitely not green.

roundaboutthetown · 30/06/2017 16:06

It's more green than the yellow highlighter and more yellow than the green highlighter. More greeny yellow than yellowy green. If I'd ordered flourescent yellow, I'd also be disappointed with it! Tbh, I think this sort of colour difference is the risk you take ordering something cheap online which you have never seen in real life - you get the ease, cheapness and convenience of not driving to a shop to see and try on the real thing and in return, take a bit more of a risk on size, shape, quality and colour.

Loyly · 30/06/2017 16:06

It's yellow!

rightwhine · 30/06/2017 16:06

In the original picture it looked pale green but with the highlighter and the green card next to it, it is clearly yellow - and looks nothing like the marketing page.
Deal with Amazon.

MaxPepsi · 30/06/2017 16:07

I thought yellow from the off.

And it's got more yellow as the thread has progressed!

jdoe8 · 30/06/2017 16:09

I'd call it yellow, send it back OP.

ShmooBooMoo · 30/06/2017 16:10

See, when I saw the hoodie, I thought it looked like a light apple green. so being the boring mare I am, I googled apple green paint. Most rooms in apple green looked green, but some looked like this (which is distinctly yellow-y to my eye):
trick-ster.biz/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/New-Apple-Green-Living-Room-Ideas-93-with-Apple-Green-Living-Room-Ideas.jpg

Saying that, the hoodie you got doesn't even resemble the colour in the Amazon pic. If I hadn't seen the hoodie in the Amazon pic, I can see why to some the hoodie you have could appear more green to some, more yellow to others. I do think Amazon are being unreasonable just on the basis that the one you have is nothing like the colour they advertised.

ShmooBooMoo · 30/06/2017 16:11

Ps in the link, the couch looks more yellow than green to me.

HeadfirstForHalos · 30/06/2017 16:12

The hoodie is highlighter yellow, definitely not neon green.

ShmooBooMoo · 30/06/2017 16:12

Btw, better to use Live Chat to sort out a problem with Amazon.

HeadfirstForHalos · 30/06/2017 16:13

Just like a high vis jacket

GotToGetMyFingerOut · 30/06/2017 16:15

Yellow without a doubt.

SongforSal · 30/06/2017 16:15

That is most definitely Yellow. This reminds me of the lady with the grey/blue dress fiasco. You may just break the internet with this fleece OP Wink

DJBaggySmalls · 30/06/2017 16:17

Its Hi Vis yellow, complain to Amazon and they'll refund you.

redladybird · 30/06/2017 16:19

It looks to me like a light neon green but a different shade of green to what is advertised. I would email them back stating it is a different shade of green to that advertised!

RideOn · 30/06/2017 16:19

Looks yellow to me! YANBU

Mycarsmellsoflavender · 30/06/2017 16:21

Looks yellow to me too. This is like 'the dress'!

PyongyangKipperbang · 30/06/2017 16:21

I completely agree with going on Live Chat, they are much more helpful.

RitaMills · 30/06/2017 16:21

Definitely yellow, I am not seeing green at all.

TheMogget · 30/06/2017 16:24

You can't live chat through the app, but if you open in a browser it's an option in customer service/contact us

Nowwhatsthis · 30/06/2017 16:25

There is one review saying it's yellow, but they've still given them five stars.
