Might get crucified for this but....

She won.

She's had a lot to manage a response and a
Plan to deal with since she became PM.

I didn't vote for her. My partner did.

I feel a bit sorry for her.

Anyone else?

You're sadly wasting breath op. You won't get a sensible answer on here...

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/06/2017 00:26

I like Theresa May as PM tbh.

We've had charming PMs - Tony Blair did a good emotive speech, the people's princess etc. David Cameron was good with people too.
The pair of them are a couple of lying, cheating, twisting snakes.

TM is not a people person, she's got no emotional intelligence & is distinctly lacking in charm.
She may not have been hugging the people affected, or empathising one-on-one with them but she instead did what many people like her do - showed she cared by doing stuff.

  • She made a low key, minimum disruption visit to the emergency services coordinators on the ground
  • following that she declared there would be a full, public, transparent enquiry
  • Today, she visited some of the victims & community leaders
  • She has made £5mil immediately available for the families affected
  • she has directed the treasury to liaise with banks to provide banking access/new cards etc as required
  • she's directed various relevant depts to sort housing (temp & permanent) & promised that there will be no one out of pocket re transport costs if they need transport for schools etc if they need it
  • she's ensuring that families are relocated as soon as possible, and has directed the relevant councils to ensure that people are relocated in the same borough
  • she has promised that the enquiry will be centric to the victims & that their legal representation will be paid for.

She has done what I expect of a PM tbh.
We have the Queen & William etc to be our non-political figureheads who do the public appearances and do them extremely well.

Highalert · 17/06/2017 00:26

You carry on believing that, Leap.

I'ts reality it's the right wingers who preach intolerance and hatred.

thegoodnameshadgone · 17/06/2017 00:26

I'm not surprised

OP posts:
Imbeingunreasonable · 17/06/2017 00:26

Here's what she won:

A lot of angry people wanting her to step down

A lot of Conservative MP's no longer in their jobs

People in her own party waiting to stab her in the back (would be bad timing as they don't want another GE but Gideon Osborne has already stuck the knife in)

No clear majority and a party coaligned with the DUP which could scupper the Good Friday Agreement

Very little confidence in her abilities from the electorate

A massive EU negotiation on her shoulders of which she is probably not suited to since she lacks the capacity to listen to anyone who doesn't think the sun shines out of her arse.

What a top notch prize it must be

needsahalo · 17/06/2017 00:27

Did I say that? or are you just reading what you want from my post?

You didn't need to say it.

Why do so many people despise wealthy people so damn much? It's odd and quite frankly disturbing. Especially given they are the ones propping the country up financially. No enough though is it? you still want more from them

Because no one from the working classes ever pays tax, do they?

Who is 'you'? Personally, couldn't care less if you are rich or poor. I base my relationships on decency, self respect,, honesty, empathy, ability to see the bigger picture. Plenty of very rich, very privileged people have all of that. Plenty of poor people are total wankers. Money is only part of the jigsaw that makes up the whole person.

Plenty of very rich people able to recognise that other people work equally as hard - and even harder - than they do but that their wages are less. Less because they chose a different career path, less because they're working a shit job, less because illness or disability or caring responsibility makes part-time the only option. Less for thousands of other reasons the poor can't control.

And those rich people still don't feel the need to put the poor in their place. Respect is an amazing thing, mutual respect even better. You should try it.

DogStrummer · 17/06/2017 00:27

FaithHopeCharityDesperation Good post.

BigYellowJumper · 17/06/2017 00:28

When you can't even go to visit bereaved victims of a fire because you're too scared, you know you're fucked.

She's a coward. And she'll be gone soon.

notknownatthisaddress · 17/06/2017 00:29

@highalert

In reality it's the right wingers who preach intolerance and hatred.

Utter shite.

ALeapOfFaith · 17/06/2017 00:29

I rest my case op...

thegoodnameshadgone · 17/06/2017 00:31

Cam anyone help me? How do I become someone to vote for?

OP posts:
notknownatthisaddress · 17/06/2017 00:31

Also agree that the post by @faithhopecharitydesperation is very good.

As I (and some others have said though,) no matter what TM does, it will be scoffed at by the left wing.

DogStrummer · 17/06/2017 00:31

In reality it's the right wingers who preach intolerance and hatred.

It's the left wingers who are still fighting an election while the fucking tower still smoulders.

Mumsnet has been a disgrace for the past few days. Never seen the like.

Highalert · 17/06/2017 00:31

Nope not utter shite, Truth.

Highalert · 17/06/2017 00:32

Yes it's been a disgrace and every post that has sickened me has been by a Tory voter.

ALeapOfFaith · 17/06/2017 00:33

It's sadly been a disgrace for sometime but MNHQ either are unable or unwilling to do anything about it.

ALeapOfFaith · 17/06/2017 00:34

You really are embarrassing yourself now @ High. Seriously

38cody · 17/06/2017 00:34

Yes, I feel sorry for her.
There is no way she could safely walk around that west London estate safely with the anger and emotion there.
I do not believe for one moment that she doesn't care, she's a human, how could anyone not be moved but what we've seen.
People there are naturally incredibly frustrated and are now looking for someone to vent their anger on - did you see the scenes at the town hall? I wouldn't be at all surprised if this sparks another riot - it wasn't safe for her to go in there. I live a 10 min drive away and Its a pretty rough area at the best of times and now it's volatile and a mob mentality is growing, security could not allow her to go in.

notknownatthisaddress · 17/06/2017 00:34

Well said @dogstrummer

They are too busy moaning about what a cunt MAY is, and how they want her out, to think about the people who are genuinely suffering.

It's the LEFT that hate and intolerance comes from, not the right.

Highalert · 17/06/2017 00:34

Nope I'm out and proud. I'm embarrassed for you and your cronies though.

thegoodnameshadgone · 17/06/2017 00:35

Anyone? Come on xxx

OP posts:
Imbeingunreasonable · 17/06/2017 00:37

Yes there's rich people who don't play the system and they pay their dues. But there's plenty of them who don't and it is indeed very selfish. Who seriously needs billions of pounds to themselves? I don't even think I could spend that amount in one life time. I could easily do some good with it for other people though. I believe everyone has a social responsibility and those who deliberately evade tax are shirking that responsibility meanwhile letting the working class pick up the tab.

Thread derailing, in short she deserves the outcome she has received

Tapandgo · 17/06/2017 00:37

LeapofFaith and FaithHope - perchance you are related (by membership of Tory Party)?

Perhaps you might like to look over this thread closely and suggest genuine answers to the concerns raised by posters about her leadership. Your list of her 'achievements' in this context are frankly laughable.

However - as one of the lucky ones with a safe bed to go to I am retiring..........sadly still with the knowledge this woman held Trumps hand, but is incapable of entending even non physical warmth to the victims of Grenfell.

BigYellowJumper · 17/06/2017 00:38

38

She is a coward then.

Some people might shout at her? Chuck some bottles? So fucking what? People died. If she's so strong and difficult, she should show some resilience.

When you can't look the people you serve in the eye, it's time to go.
