Might get crucified for this but....

She won.

She's had a lot to manage a response and a
Plan to deal with since she became PM.

I didn't vote for her. My partner did.

I feel a bit sorry for her.

Anyone else?

The idiot Leadsome is on Sunday politics. may doesn't even deign to give interviews any more.
She'/going on about taking back control. You couldn't make it upGrin

ShoesHaveSouls · 18/06/2017 11:40

Loathsome Leadsome is pushing herself back into public eye again, now Theresa's job is on the line. She's just lining herself back up for another leadership bid isn't she?

Personally, although I'm no fan of May, I would rather have her than Leadsome, Gove, Boris or Davies, any day of the week. And that's before we even get onto the subject of what a stupid waste of time a Leadership contest would be, especially as we're (apparently) starting Brexit negotiations on Monday.

MsHooliesCardigan · 18/06/2017 12:29

I don't want to feel sorry for TM and see the results of callous Tory cuts every day at work but there's a part of me that does feel sorry for her - she's so obviously out of her depth, it's painful to watch. I can imagine her waking up in a cold sweat thinking 'Shit, what have I done?'
What would happen if she resigned and nobody else put themselves forward as leader? I honestly don't see why anyone would want the job right now.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2017 13:10

Part of me also feels sorry for her. I think she feels that she has to cling on. However If she resigned, she could go off and have a nice private rather long holiday somewhere and her pain would all be over.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 18/06/2017 13:17

I'm a socialist and always vote Labour. I don't feel sorry for May but l do think she has been handed or rather taken a poisoned chalice. She has been crap but who else would want the job?

GloriaGilbert · 18/06/2017 13:23

I heard a report that she was angry with her advisors because they forced her to stay 'on message' during the campaign, hence her constant senseless parroting of meaningless things like 'strong and stable'.

She should have had the gumption to fire them before the campaign rather than after, of course.

scaryteacher · 18/06/2017 13:34

The PM was at church this morning in her constituency, hopefully enjoying some media free space and having some time and tranquillity to order her thoughts. Much more beneficial than dealing with Marr or Peston.

Artofnoise1 · 18/06/2017 13:39

Psml at Scary

Artofnoise1 · 18/06/2017 13:43

I'm happy as a bunny that this vile nasty women who basically set out to persecute and demonise the most poor and vulnerable in our society with her disgusting policies, is disintegrating in front of our eyes.

She deserves every bit of shit that comes her way and then some.

karma is a beautiful thingGrin

scaryteacher · 18/06/2017 13:48

Let's hope karma doesn't bite you in the arse then Art. Whether you like the PM or not, enjoying watching someone disintegrate (as you put it) speaks volumes about you.

So glad you find someone going to church amusing. I wouldn't think that the PM is getting much media free space at the moment.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 18/06/2017 13:57
Artofnoise1 · 18/06/2017 14:07

It's highly amusing scary May is amoral. Going to church doesn't change that.

scaryteacher · 18/06/2017 14:08

I loathe Blair with same passion some people loathe May. I don't want him to disintegrate however....I want him to think every day about the service personnel he got killed because he wouldn't resource them properly, and the fact he allowed ambulance chasing vermin like Shiner to operate.

scaryteacher · 18/06/2017 14:11

I don't think she is amoral at all. You can't just govern for one section of society, and trying to balance all the competing interests must be a bloody nightmare.

mrsBeverleygoldberg · 18/06/2017 14:11

I agree Art.

Topseyt · 18/06/2017 14:14

MissHoolie has put what I was trying to say rather better than I did.

Scary, I get where you are coming from too. I find her unsuited to the job of Prime Minister, although she herself didn't seem to realise she was until too late and she was in too deep.

She has often been very silly, flat footed and badly advised. I understand and share much of the public anger in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster. However I don't like watching public disintegration, which I think is what we are seeing here.

I do honestly think that anyone actively seeking to become Prime Minister at the moment must be crazy. Poisoned chalice.

nice - you are so full of hate I feel sorry for you

Floisme · 18/06/2017 14:34

Has she been at church for the last 7 weeks?

PortiaCastis · 18/06/2017 14:39

she was at church this morning in her constituency

Our Father who art in heaven
Please get me out of this Armageddon

scaryteacher · 18/06/2017 14:44

She's been to France and over here to Brussels as well on more than one occasion.

I am surprised that the Forces weren't brought in to set up a field kitchen and get things running logistically in terms of mess tents, spare medics for initial triage etc.

Artofnoise1 · 18/06/2017 14:58

oligarchy it' s good to hate evil. You should try it.

Orlantina · 18/06/2017 15:08

I am surprised that the Forces weren't brought in to set up a field kitchen and get things running logistically in terms of mess tents, spare medics for initial triage etc

And that should have been in place from Day 1. It's great that things are happening but it should have happened earlier.

Khan was there talking to the people. He should have taken responsibility.
Theresa May should have found out if there was anything that needed doing and should have found out what wasn't being done - if she had seen the locals straightaway, she would have learnt that and addressed their concerns.

It does seem no one was listening. No one took charge. Not for a few days until pressure and anger broke.

It does seem like Hurricane Katrina again.

We are going to have more situations like this - we've had Manchester bombings and this. People not knowing where the injured are, the dead are, the missing are. There needs to be a team who come in and take charge and help co-ordinate the information.

olliegarchy99 · 18/06/2017 15:11

art you are not hating evil you know - you are just full of hate for anyone who disagrees with you. Judgmental at best.

ljny · 18/06/2017 15:13

She made her bed, she should lie in it. I feel sorry for everyone she has let down or failed through her austerity measures. I feel sorry for the kids who suffered abuse and she conveniently 'lost' the paedopfile records. I feel sorry for the understaffed, underpaid NHS workers who have had an insulting 1% pay rise despite increasing demands, cuts and A&E closures to deal with. I feel sorry for the people who lost their lives and the families who are left to pick up the pieces after she made cuts to national security and cuts to police services and allowed terrorists to commit the heinous crimes we have witnessed lately. I feel sorry for the victims of the Grenfell tower incident after repeated failures within the system to put preventive measures in place. I feel sorry for people who have been forced in to zero hour contracts because there is very little else going for them.

Actually I don't think pity is a finite emotion. I can feel sympathy for all those mentioned and still feel a bit uncomfortable watching someone so clearly out of her depth - even when she swam out there all by herself.

There is room for all in my bleeding liberal heart - in fact there's even room for some posters on here.
