People's Assembly

For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

This protest is a bad protest

Are you Donald Trump?

Carolinesbeanies · 19/06/2017 21:07

Ever.....your getting very confused and tying yourself in knots.

July 1st is the SWP march. Scroll down to their current campaigns.

www.swp.org.uk

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 19/06/2017 21:15

Afraid not. As I said you don't know the SWP do you?

They support most marches apart from pro EU which was lovely not seeing them there and EDL. But generally they can't organise a cake sale

July 1st is a people's assembly march. Here you go. And this is them

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/People%27s_Assembly_Against_Austerity

Am sure the Telegraph sees them all as red anti government. You see? Don't believe everything you read.

Carolinesbeanies · 19/06/2017 22:25

LOL ever. They need to update their webpage with their new "Torys Out" direction. Hope youve got your t-shirt.
You have read (your link) who it is who allegedly backs them? Communist Party of Britain along with the entire SWP network. You are funny. Do you mean to be?

"I wouldn't attend one of theirs if you paid me." Clearly. Hmm

Make your mind up Ever, so what family fun day out are you going on?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/06/2017 22:38

The SWP are opportunists. It is not they who are leading the 1st July march. But as Ever says, they go to almost everything that isn't a pro EU march.
They frustrate me. (understatement)

Carolinesbeanies · 19/06/2017 23:08

"The SWP are opportunists."

Thats rubbish Kitten.

This was organised by the TUC, initially. Youre being played like a fiddle, by the cuddly fake fronted 'caring peoples assembly'.

Motion passed at BFAWU conference 13.06.17
An emergency motion was passed unanimously at the Bakers’ Union conference which read:
“That this conference calls on theTUC to organise a national demonstration backing Jeremy Corbyn’s policies and raise this at the TUC general council”

Carolinesbeanies · 19/06/2017 23:49

And just in the name of 'fairness', Ive carefully checked the Green Partys position on the July 1 march. They are, as per Evers link, claimed backers and supporters of the 'peoples assembly'.

Sadly, nothing. Nada. No support for this protest. Indeed no connection with the Peoples Assembly since Natalie Bennett attended a gathering in 2015. Methinks wiki needs some serious updating.

(Happy to be corrected if anyone can find a current Green link to this lot.)

But as it stands, and without the legitimacy of the Greens, this is an SWP and Communist Britain event.

Lets just call it what it is shall we.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 07:16

Sigh. As you surecyiu don't work for the Telegraph. Selective reporting and all that..

Here is the PA website with full backers

www.thepeoplesassembly.org.uk/supporters

You can go through and tell us all which ones are acceptable to you are not. Oh just in case you miss it the FBU is there

I personally think we should all support them don't you. And the Green party is still listed and SWP is not...but as we have explained they will be there.

PS wearing a #Toriesout t shirt doesn't make anyone a member of the SWP. Do you want to start restricting clothing too? What a dangerous road that would be?

As per the cake. No thanks will go for dinner after with my mum.

Headofthehive55 · 20/06/2017 08:00

Can't you do something useful that day instead?
Whilst you are "protesting" about "somebody should do something"
Those some bodies are busy trying to find a cure for cancer, caring for the sick or earning money for the country to spend on better fire protection.
IT is a divided country.
Those who do and those who shout about what other people should do.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 08:08

I will be. I will be marching against austerity

Just because you don't value it. It does not mean it is not of value does it? I think the FBU would like support at this time. I'm sure they will be applauded. Come down and show your appreciation and solidarity of our NHS our FF our teachers. Who do you think is going?

Cutscostlives you know

Thanks for the contribution. I will tell everyone there who currently educate our kids and save lives that they should be working that day Hmm

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 08:22

I mean the ones holding their union banners at the march....the FBU the NUT the Nurses the university lecturers

I will let them know they should be working rather than marching to show their disgust at cuts to their services resources and waged

Who do you think goes on these marches? A few students and the SWP? According to the RW media.....In reality there will be whole families. People in wheelchairs. Children. Older people. Loads of the educated middle aged middle classes
Firemen, teachers, railway staff, doctors, lecturers.

I really do wish people would go to one rather than keyboard warrior over something they know nothing about

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/06/2017 08:29

Head, I think you will find that very many of us do, do all sorts of 'useful' stuff. I'll be giving up that particular Saturday, a day off from work and volunteering to support the very many who have been hurt so much from austerity.

Carolinesbeanies · 20/06/2017 09:15

Tut tut tut tut tu Peoples Assembly. Im sure their last updated webpage from 2015 (when huge rafts of support were pulled) is merely an administrative oversight. Their linked letter, from 2015, co signed, by co-chair Romayne Phoenix Green Party NEC a mere 'administrative' oversight.

Romayne Phoenix was kicked out of the Green Party national executive in 2015. She is now a member of Momentum.

And this protest group claim the government are misleading! Tut tut tut indeed.

PS If anyone wants a job at the Green Party, Romaynes job is still vacant.

To remind you of the protest march in London on July 1st?
To remind you of the protest march in London on July 1st?
Carolinesbeanies · 20/06/2017 09:20

Ill say again. Youre being played like a fiddle by John McDonnell and the SWP.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 09:28

You are fixated with the Greens arent you? And the SWP. But if you get all your knowledge from reading RW rags rather than getting up and out and seeing for yourself that is to be expected. THE SWP HAVE NO POWER!

Thank you for your concern I'll tell the FBU and NUT that on the 1st July.

And you can show your support for them by maybe voting for a party that will slice wages and resources even further? Again. And again and again

How about you spend some time reflecting on that?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 09:30

Why don't you call the Greens and ask them if they are supporting rather than stiching together parts of information?

makeourfuture · 20/06/2017 09:44

Peaceful protest is an essential part of democracy. Much like a vigilant press.

The press has let us down a bit....but protest we will!

Carolinesbeanies · 20/06/2017 10:22

Evers, Im merely responding to your over excitable posts and links that youre posting, to support your position. Its not my fault if the Peoples Assembly are intentionally misleading everyone as to who and what their chairpersons are and what they represent.

Im trying to take your shovel off you......but back you come with more rubbish.

When the FBU issue a circular to all members supporting this Peoples Assembly march on 1st July, as they have done very publicly on previous occasions, then Ill concede. As it is, they havent.

So why is that Evers? Why do you think the FBU havent backed this action this time?

Headofthehive55 · 20/06/2017 10:28

I do think we have a system in place which allows people to vote accordingly. It's organised. It does seem wrong actually to be protesting when things haven't gone your way, whether it be Brexit, (much as I dislike the result) the election etc. When the majority actually seemed to disagree with you all. Do you not believe in the marjority?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 10:42

Yet again supersition and not fact. It's like ready TobyYoung. Is that you?

Head We've been round that one.

What are the purposes of your posts? There is a march. It is democratic to march. We will be going

All are welcome to attend. Come along so you can talk from a position of experience rather than hyperbole. It might actually educate your position or reinforcevit who knows. But at least you will show yourselves to be open to learn through experience

makeourfuture · 20/06/2017 10:44

Do you not believe in the marjority?

What majority?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 10:58

It's funny how people forget that the Government has neither the majority of votes nor the majority of seats!

CrossWordSalad · 20/06/2017 11:14

I don't know about anyone else but I am finding the increasing number of claims from many on the left that anyone who disagrees with them is duped by the "RW press"/only reads the Mail/is in fact a "RW" journalist/is incapable of reading news and information from a variety of sources just a bit tiresome. It doesn't suggest a very robust political analysis of why people hold different views.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 11:47

OK Cross. You might want to take a peep at your previous posts.

It's funny how people who like to chuck it out rarely take it

Come on the march!

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 11:52

You do realise you have justified my point too?

When the ferverent anti marchers show sources from a paper other TG Fail etc that would on your view show a more robust political analysis. They haven't. Touche

Hey ho let's march.
