Hey.

I don't want to start a debate but I am quite worried about DUP being in the position that they are now. I am totally relying on the information from the media with regards to their views etc, but I'm worried about what this holds for us.

I wondered for anyone that voted Tory, now they have a coalition with DUP, would you change your vote?

I'd love to hear everyone's views. I am not politically minded and as I said, a lot of what I read and understand is unfortunately from the media. With 2 little ones, reading the paper online is about as much as I can do!

Please do not come down on me if this is a silly post, I am genuinely interested xx

I think now that people have seen the results, some would vote differently and tactically. Both main parties would benefit from this but the outcome would be interesting.

IlonaRN · 11/06/2017 15:14

I voted Conservative and would do so again

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/06/2017 15:40

Every political discussion on here descends into rudeness and personal insults. Usually from people who claim to vote because they care so much for other people

Ain't that the truth Sad

Maxandrubyrubyandmax · 11/06/2017 17:23

Yes of course I would. I'd rather emigrate than live in a country where JC was in number 10.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 11/06/2017 17:34

Alternatively people see through the belated smear campaign

7461Mary18 · 11/06/2017 17:50

No way. We did really well asTories, DUP are fine and all will be well.
Remember Labour sought a deal with DUP too -this is something all parties do.

Are those who are members of the Labour party now considering resigning because of that and if not why not?

Because of some rumour? No. More worried about whats actually happening

Chocachoo · 11/06/2017 18:09

I voted Conservative and would do so again. I'm disappointed it wasn't a straightforward Tory majority but a Labour/SNP/LD coalition doesn't bear thinking about.

nannybeach · 13/06/2017 09:33

Well done Ankleswingers, my sentiments exactly, I listened to JC being asked about where the funds were coming from and the fact he couldnt answer, it didnt come from reading any dodgy newspapers I heard him myself! TM didnt "loose" JC didnt "win", she had the majority not enough though, so she must have plenty of supporters.

PumpkinPiloter · 13/06/2017 09:56

"No way. We did really well as Tories."

Well you must know something that Theresa May does not. As she has admitted she has got the country into a mess to her MP's if not to the public.

Maybe time to take your head out of the sand?

7461Mary18 · 13/06/2017 20:06

Corbyn is not the leader and May is managing. She did get a bigger % of the vote than so many previous prime ministers too - no one can deny that.

ChampagneSocialist1 · 13/06/2017 20:46

Theresa May's mistake was to over estimate the altruistic nature of the British public with her proposal for funding social care: those with the biggest assets pay more and everyone gets to keep the same amount after their social care bill is paid.

The fact it was slagged off by Labour and the Lib dems just shows they don't support real socialist policies where everyone has to contribute to the general pot we would rather believe the top 5% should be squeezed more to fund all our public services (the already pay 40% of all taxes collected). The irony of Republic of Kensington Voting for labour because those with a £2 million house didn't want to fund some one else's social care.

We bang on about our politicians being lying toads and want img them to be straight with us but what this election showed is we cannot bear too much reality and I'll be surprised if any politician ever produces an honest manifesto ever again.

Bejazzled · 13/06/2017 21:56

She didn't say that "she got the country in a mess" at all 🙄

She said she'd got the party in a mess. Entirely different, no?

Don't let facts get in the way of a good story though.

^^ that was to reply to pumpkin
