I've just had to goggle Lyn brown (and only learnt that she swore at a blind man). Realised I know v little about McDonnell either. AIBU to think that he's been kept hidden because he might spoil cuddly JC's image?

In May 2003, he made controversial comments about the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA), saying: "It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle. It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table. The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA."[17]
According to a report in The Times published in November 2015, McDonnell in 1985 made similar comments at a Labour Committee on Ireland meeting, before the start of the Northern Ireland peace process. The Deptford Mercury asserted at the time that McDonnell had suggested there was a role for "the ballot, the bullet and the bomb" in bringing about a United Ireland, and joked about "kneecapping" the "gutless wimp" Labour councillors who had declined to join the meeting.[19]
In 2015, McDonnell's name appeared on a letter calling for the armed police and MI5 to be disbanded. He claimed that he had not signed the letter, which was produced by the Socialist Campaign for a Labour Victory (SCLV), but he was photographed holding a copy of the letter, although he later said that he did not know that the demand was on the letter.[29][30

GrinCharm.

Sittinonthefloor · 07/06/2017 17:36

I agree, I am desperately worried at the thought of Corbyn, McDonnell, thornberry and Abbott (who has said she'll be back) holding the the four most important offices of state. Not one of them is fit to run anything, let alone our country.

C bored of Tory goading

OlennasWimple · 07/06/2017 17:43

Can I recommend a brilliant website called theyworkforyou.com? It lists the voting records, register of interests, activity in Parliament etc etc of all our MPs

Lyn Brown's entry is here

Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott & Thornberry:

I knew it! They always say they are leaving the thread but have to come back, who are you calling Tory, Monkey? I was a member of the Labour Party well before you were born. If you could actually engage in an actual debate we might start having some respect for you, but god you make it tough with your endless name calling. And nothing else.

LadyinCement · 07/06/2017 18:01

Don't bother engaging with her. Just endless puerile comebacks. On any thread.

tobee · 07/06/2017 18:02

Yes, you are right, lady, I know, but my anger is just bubbling over today. And it's made me feel better. For now.

TheMonkeyAndThePlywoodViolin · 07/06/2017 18:06

Bitterness is bad for the soul

TheMonkeyAndThePlywoodViolin · 07/06/2017 18:07

Good luck for tomorrow

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 07/06/2017 18:07

He's a loose cannon. He scares me.

Charmageddon · 07/06/2017 18:09

Not long left tobee, then MN will be full of angst & vitriol of a whole new dimension on Friday....!

Vitriol if Tories win

Angst & fear if Labour win

Either way, it'll be a bumpy few days - buckle up!! WinkGrin

MsMartini · 07/06/2017 18:10

Sittin - yep, that's about it.

Not - I am voting for my local MP, who is extremely pro-Europe, experienced, ex-minister, pragmatic and capable. Tories are second round here so the Lib Dems are not an option. If I lived in Lab/Lib Dem seat, I would leave the party and vote Lib Dem, as Brexit is for me the biggest issue. If I thought May's government would be competent - even if I disagreed with a lot of what they do - I would have a harder time voting Labour. But I think May et al are vile and incompetent.

Charmageddon · 07/06/2017 18:12

Personally, I'll be better off under labour (if I believed a word of their manifesto) but it'll be a few years of plenty at best.

The medium to long term prospect of Labour fills me with proper fear - they will bankrupt & ruin the country & it will be people like me who are hurt the most.

tobee · 07/06/2017 18:13

Half fancy voting tomorrow, taking a pill and waking up on, say, Sunday! Grinit's still the Tory victory I fear. Barely had an alcoholic drink in 5 weeks but might have to indulge tomorrow. I certainly won't be drinking bitter though folks!

tobee · 07/06/2017 18:17

I grew up in household that always voted Labour even though, financially, it would have been better to vote Tory. But my family could see further than that. And encouraged us children to be the same. I am now at a point where I believe the country would not be better under Corbyn.

tobee · 07/06/2017 18:18

Ms unfortunately, as of last night, my Labour candidate has just gone belly up. Shock

Dandandandandandandan · 07/06/2017 18:19

This was interesting. Oh those awful rich people. They contribute nothing, right?!

www.google.co.uk/amp/metro.co.uk/2017/06/07/lord-sugar-reveals-how-much-tax-he-pays-after-row-with-labour-supporters-6692606/amp/

Charmageddon · 07/06/2017 18:30

I saw something about that earlier Dandan, he posted it because of the abuse he was getting off Corbynistas for being one of the hated 'rich'.

For someone who apparently doesn't do divisive, JC has done a sterling job of stoking up division.

Dandandandandandandan · 07/06/2017 18:33

This is it. So much ire directed at higher rate tax payers. There was one muppet on an earlier thread who actually said she wished ALL high earners would leave the country. So that they could be replaced with people who currently earn less.

Because you know, consultant drs and lawyers and judges and actuaries and architects can just be replaced so easily GrinGrinGrin. It was an eye opening view into how some people view the high earners.

tobee · 07/06/2017 18:46

This is what I was saying earlier, militant leftists are only interested in infighting. They have no ability to debate or come up with realistic vote winning policies. That's the arse about tit of having some of them as leaders. They have never had to do anything but throw stones, and see anyone not up for that as Tories. It used to be Blairites and Tories but now they see that as one and the same. GrinI think they mainly hate Blair because he won. Nothing to do with Iraq. Then, hilariously, their supporters often go arch Tory a la Peter Hitchins and Paul Johnson.

The Tory danger is that they squash their infighting as much as possible and that is why they win.

TheNaze73 · 07/06/2017 18:51

@Dawndonnaagain

No hard feelings at all. Thanks for the flowers though.

Have some back. All's good SmileFlowers

Sittinonthefloor · 07/06/2017 20:28

I've googled some more and even today he's been very quiet. I refuse to read them but it looks like the sun and mail have had a go today, but I wonder why they didn't focus on him earlier. I really think lots of people are voting for Corbyn thinking he's all kind and caring without knowing anything about his number 2, it feels almost deceitful.

Not me who was deleted on the thread for personal attacks.
