For body shaming JC, that is just beyond vile and nasty. Glad it's looking like they will not win.

She is over.

To have taken offence at such words puts into context why my words can sometimes be so misconstrued.

Watch the rest of it. Awful.

You haven't watched the video and are missing the context yourself.

Why would may not crumble?

She has taken at least massive u-turns in the past few months. Does that really indicate strong and stable?

AwaywiththePixies27 · 31/05/2017 08:47

M1nesasweetsh3rry

I know I was on your side! Grin

I was addressing a previous poster who took offence to it.

Marmitepasta · 31/05/2017 08:49

@mummyoflittkedragens, you have misunderstood which bit of what she said is offensive.
It's not the naked comment (although it was strange and a little inappropriate) and yes we are aware this is a figure of speech and she was not suggesting he actually would be naked.
It is the fact that she followed up this comment by saying him being naked is something that doesn't bear thinking about. That is offensive.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 31/05/2017 08:50

3, I left out 3!

DesignedForLife · 31/05/2017 08:50

Now I understand why someone shared on Facebook this morning a picture of JC's face photoshopped onto David Beckam's body.

Very disappointing comment from a PM.

cdtaylornats · 31/05/2017 08:51

It is a metaphor it means "unsupported and vulnerable".

I despair of the education levels of journalists in this country.

In recitals, you are naked before the audience - well, naked with your jacket and tails. The audience sees and hears the real person, not some role you are interpreting. Jose Carreras

Igneococcus · 31/05/2017 08:52

If you want to draw me into an ageist comment bertrand I won't bite. It's nothing to do with age. I just don't see that intelligent and principled person in him that many here seem to see and I don't think anything in his career to date has prepared him for the work he'll have to do should be be elected.

Orlantina · 31/05/2017 08:53

calm and measured for an hour on television is a very different situation than facing several hostile negotiator over many hours

Maybe they wouldn't be hostile if the person opposite them wasn't so hostile back?

Peregrina · 31/05/2017 08:53

I think she cynically took that populist, personal-attack line on someone else's advice. Poor advice

Are you trying to tell us that she is a mere puppet, without a mind of her own?

Jupitar · 31/05/2017 08:54

It doesn't mean literally naked. It's a figure of speech. The meaning of this includes descriptions such as exposed (again not naked), out on a limb or on his own.
Everyone knows what it means, it was her next comments which changed the contex of it. You have watched the speech?

Orlantina · 31/05/2017 08:54

I don't think anything in his career to date has prepared him for the work he'll have to do should be be elected

Whereas May?

Backs down over National Insurance
Backed down over dementia tax
Misleads over education funding

AwaywiththePixies27 · 31/05/2017 08:56

Not really. It demonstrates that JC would be able to tactfully negotiate with them, for hours, just like TM and friends demonstrate by their previous behaviour that they will just insult their choice of clothing, laugh at them and hope that they'll back down.

metspengler · 31/05/2017 08:56

Congratulationsyou managed to drop an IRA reference AND a Hamas reference into a thread about Theresa May and her derogatory remarks, they didn't fit in with the discussion in any way but hey who cares you managed to pop it in there

Ooh sorry if I ruined the LEAVE BRITNEY JEREMY ALONE by mentioning this. Having had the IRA bomb a relative means I see it as a bit important and am reminded of it every time he appears on TV with his nice man smile or when lots of other things happen from day to day actually. This is just one of the side effects you get when Jeremy's chums touch upon your life. Totally forgot my sense of proportion sorry if I ruined your Brew Biscuit let's go back to how badly Theresa May hurt the poor kindly man with a joke.

M1nesasweetsh3rry · 31/05/2017 08:57

I'll tell you what doesn't bear thinking about. It's the hapless May and her three stooges, Hammond, Johnson and Davis. What a bunch of utter incompetents.
Michele Bernier will laugh them out of the room.

SlothMama · 31/05/2017 08:59

People are so desperate to discredit politicians at any opportunity.

M1nesasweetsh3rry · 31/05/2017 09:01

That's your issue metts no one else's. Lots of
people die in wars and conflicts. If the people of NI can move in, it I'm sure you can manage it.
It has nothing to do with this thread anyway.

silkybear · 31/05/2017 09:03

'I love it when people attack me personally, for it means they no longer have any political argument left' -Margaret Thatcher

Igneococcus · 31/05/2017 09:03

Whereas JC couldn't even be arsed to campaign properly for Remain despite that his party supposedly supported it. He was on a hill walk up the road from me just before the referendum.
I can't even vote in this election. I'm just amazed how someone who barely anyone has heared of during 30+ years suddenly is like the second coming. It's like everybody is projecting every wish and dream on him. It will be a terrible let down, nobody can fulfil all these expectations.

MirabelleTree · 31/05/2017 09:04

I think we all get the reference but most people have an issue with the bit that came after.

Personally I have not been a fan of Corbyn but recently I think he is starting to come across better and I'm now starting to believe there has been a lot of misrepresentation by the press as people having been saying for some time . He is quite clearly tenanacious or he wouldn't still be party leader. Compare this with Teresa May who changes her mind seemingly randomly and at will then actually I think he would do better in negotiations with the EU than she would.

To go from a huge lead in the polls to where she is now is actually quite an achievement and how will she command any respect anywhere after this? It would be really funny if it wasn't such a serious issue.

Edsheeranalbumparty · 31/05/2017 09:05

Ah okay. So it's okay for TM to take the piss out of JC but not for a child to describe TM as something you're not comfortable with?

Where did I say it was okay for TM to say those things about JC? I didn't. Saying nasty things about TM's appearance makes you no better than the people who go on about Corbyns suits/looking like a Geography teacher/picturing him naked or whatever.

You know who doesn't resort to personal insults about appearance? JC himself. Maybe you and your family could take a leaf out of his book, seeing as you like him so much.

silkybear · 31/05/2017 09:06

Mets I'm sorry for your loss but the blame should be with the terrorists themselves not someone who has stood up for peace his whole life. He won the Ghandi International Peace Prize in 2013, you don't get those kind of awards by being a terrorist or sympathiser of any kind.

goldaspickledfruit · 31/05/2017 09:08

Her personal attacks on JC don't surprise me, but she is just an embarrassment, in Britain and all over the world.

The NHS will be toast on June 9th if she gets in, non tories know that, and will vote accordingly.

Tories have insults, but no plans.

Debt....they have that too.
