Let's face it, after brexit they were going the way of the dodo.

By throwing themselves into the often politely ignored issues around community integration and extremism I think they will be stealing a big chunk of the Tory vote again.

Especially the removal of passports from anyone leaving the country to fight for ISIS.

If that had been in place earlier then the Manchester murderer wouldn't have been able to enter the country.

Um it says no EU flags. Nowt about taupe Kokusai

Trifleorbust · 25/05/2017 16:28

God, who would identify themselves as part of the 'silent majority'? Either say what you think, or think again.

Kokusai · 25/05/2017 16:34

Um it says no EU flags

@ExplodedCloud yeah I thought that was the bit you were talking about? I mean, banning EU flags is pretty fucking nazi-ish.

I reckon that photo is fake, but then there is enough dumb stuff in the real manifesto that people shouldn't need to circulate fake news!

surferjet · 25/05/2017 16:40

What's wrong with banning the EU flag? - we're not in the EU anymore.
& all this outrage is a bit rich coming from people who'd ban UKIP given half the chance.

ExplodedCloud · 25/05/2017 16:42

No. I was talking about the Orange and taupe stars bit that's underlined...

I always have a good hard look at the UKIP manifesto. There's plenty of 'blue passports, fish the stocks dry, grandparent rights and legalise fracking' stuff in there as per usual.

GaelicSiog · 25/05/2017 16:42

surfer Britain is still a member of the EU Hmm

Kokusai · 25/05/2017 16:44

Well, 1) we are actually still in the EU 2) we do not ban other flag from being flown so why start now and 3) because lots of institutions will still have EU links e.g. education, science.

I thought the whole point of UKIP's BREXIT policy, was to prevent out of control EU immigration, and consequently open up immigration to people from outside the EU? Isn't that going to increase the likelihood of Muslims immigrating here?

Of course.

After Brexit, the UK will need to sign new trade agreements with the Middle-East and Asia, part of these trade agreements will include increasing the number of immigrants from these countries. We will stop immigrants coming from the UK but will increase the numbers of immigrants coming from the Middle-East and Asia.

We will increase the numbers of immigrants coming from the Middle-East and Asia but reduce the numbers coming from the EU.

I wouldn't ban UKIP. I don't believe in banning genuine political organisations in a democracy. I just don't think UKIP should be given the same platform and legitimacy as other parties. Like, they shouldn't be included in a a TV debate alongside the the three main parties.

Charmageddon · 25/05/2017 16:55

In the interests of not promulgating fake news - this is a screenshot from the actual manifesto re the EU flag.

(Clearly says once we have left the EU).

To think UKIP have just saved themselves from extinction?
ExplodedCloud · 25/05/2017 16:59

I wouldn't ban UKIP. I'm hoping to enjoy their hilarious decline.

squishysquirmy · 25/05/2017 17:02

"Are African-Americans not really american?"

Good point.
Of course following that logic, white Amreicans wouldn't really be American either.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 25/05/2017 17:03

I was only a thread the other day and said that i would be unhappy if people said that the date we left the EU was our independence day

And someone else said in effect 'you are being a bit silly, no one would say that its it would make them a twat'

squishysquirmy · 25/05/2017 17:05

Why should that be banned Charmageddon, even after we've left? There might not be much of a need to fly EU flags from public buildings after Brexit, but there might be occasional scenarios where it is appropriate? It seems a ridiculous thing to ban, and if anything, banning it will make some people want to fly the EU flag more!

surferjet · 25/05/2017 17:06

No, we've voted to leave, Brexit is well under way. A50 has been triggered.
Saying we're still in the EU is a bit like filing for divorce but keeping a picture of your dh by your bed.

squishysquirmy · 25/05/2017 17:10

But its not a divorce. Its just a stupid analogy that gets trotted out over and over again by people who like to pretend that complex things are simple.

Dawndonnaagain · 25/05/2017 17:12

Saying we're still in the EU is a bit like filing for divorce but keeping a picture of your dh by your bed.
What utter nonsense. We're still in the EU.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 25/05/2017 17:15

User, I don't think many brexiters got the point about more Africans and Asians coming in.

I suppose they thought the care, hospitality, farming industries would be able to employ um...I dunno pensioners?

Orlantina · 25/05/2017 17:16

Why would we fly the EU flag from public buildings?

Have they got a plan for migration for those jobs which don't need much skills but that the UK population seem reluctant to do? Not skilled migration but unskilled migration?

What's their plan for zero hours contracts?
Union rights?
Minimum wage?
Tax?

Do they believe in investment and taxes to improve the public sector or are they more a low tax, low corporation tax kind of party?

AmysTiara · 25/05/2017 17:20

Nancy I know I'm a bit late to this but a child born in the UK after 1983 will be British if the parent has Indefinite Leave to remain in the UK before the child is born.

Before 1983 any child born in the UK would have been British at birth

lessworriedaboutthecat · 25/05/2017 17:25

It sounds like UKIP are trying to steal Angela Merkel's policies.

We are still in the EU.

Charmageddon · 25/05/2017 17:29

I didn't say it should or shouldn't squishy.
I have no opinion whatsoever on the EU flag.

I was just pointing out the various inaccuracies of previous posts is all.

Charmageddon · 25/05/2017 17:30

Why don't you read their manifesto Orlantino?

I'm sure it's all in there.
