Let's face it, after brexit they were going the way of the dodo.

By throwing themselves into the often politely ignored issues around community integration and extremism I think they will be stealing a big chunk of the Tory vote again.

Especially the removal of passports from anyone leaving the country to fight for ISIS.

If that had been in place earlier then the Manchester murderer wouldn't have been able to enter the country.

(pressed send in error)

Because they don't share a set of physical features you would define as being 'Japanese'?

That's a pretty reductive and borderline racist view in my opinion and quite revealing of your thinking. Why not pick say Ireland or Australia?

Seniorcitizen1 · 25/05/2017 13:37

Hopefully this shameful manifesto for this disgusting party will split the right wing racist vote and Labour will get in

Boynamedsue · 25/05/2017 13:37

Ifyougodowntothewoods how can he? Can you go on holiday anywhere you fancy and just stay there now? Surely this goes against everything ukip believe in.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/05/2017 13:38

Whistleblower apparently the legislation is already in place - though it seems it needs the Secretary of State to implement it?

And as another poster has already stated he would need to come back in order for his passport to be confiscated. And to get back to Syria he'd need... A passport. Educate yourself indeed.

scatterolight · 25/05/2017 13:41

Boysofmelody -

Thank you for your honest response. I rest my case here. Because the vast, vast majority of people around the world would look at my Japanese- born, Japanese-passport holding English children and laugh at the idea that they are Japanese.

And if I, or they, insisted that there were definitely Japanese - as Japanese as Emperor Hirohito himself - I expect that the laughter would stop and turn into derision and anger.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/05/2017 13:43

Boys
If I (English) move to Japan with my English husband and have kids there, are my kids Japanese? Are they as Japanese as, you know, actual Japanese people?

*Unless you are being completely disingenuous your answer would be no, they would not be Japanese. Japanese nationals yes, Japanese people no.

So my question would be, does your willingness to accept other peoples unique identity only extend to non-Brits?

My answer to you, would be that I don't. If you and your spouse moved to Japan and had children they were born in Japan, held Japanese citizenship, lived their entire Japan and were educated in Japan, yes I would make them Japanese.

Why wouldn't they be Japanese?
I agree, otherwise how is Japanese defined? By ethnic origins?

Are you saying that even if your children lived all their lives in Japan, having been born there, they still wouldn't be Japanese?

BorisTrumpsHair · 25/05/2017 13:45

I'm pretty sure that not letting your own citizens enter the country they were born in and live in will be against international law. Why should any other country have to deal with the fuckers created here? Or are all the stateless people going to go an live somewhere on a specially nominate island? Jersey perhaps?

One of the common factors in Daesh terrorists /suicide bombers etc is their blatant misogyny, hatred of gay people and toxic masculinity. Focusing on education and equality in our society is probably the best defence we have against future attacks. Bit it's not such a juicy rhetoric is it? . It does show that suicide bombers have more in common with UKIP than you might otherwise think.

I thought the whole point of UKIP's BREXIT policy, was to prevent out of control EU immigration, and consequently open up immigration to people from outside the EU? Isn't that going to increase the likelihood of Muslims immigrating here?

BorisTrumpsHair · 25/05/2017 13:47

Well I'm an immigrant, my kids Dad is the child of an immigrant and my England born children ARE English and British.

Why on earth wouldn't they be?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/05/2017 13:50

There is something already wrong with these men. There must be

This ^^

As I've said elsewhere, the hatred comes first - the rest is retrospective justification

Whistleblower0 · 25/05/2017 13:52

Boris I thought as much. I'm pretty sure that you could challenge being stripped of your citizenship under International law.

I seem to recall someone successfully did this in 2015. I'm a bit hazy on the details though..

Boynamedsue · 25/05/2017 13:53

How many generations does this count for scatterolight? I mean what if one of your children met someone who also had British parents but had been born and brought up in Japan and they had children. Would they not be Japanese either? In which case I think I might be Danish Confused

NotQuiteJustYet · 25/05/2017 13:55

In my opinion, the sooner UKIP are extinct, the better. Hate breeds nothing but hate. UKIP have always been nothing but a soapbox for those who are both outwardly racist and those who just like to keep it to hushed conversations just in case anyone should hear.

BoysofMelody · 25/05/2017 13:58

Thank you for your honest response. I rest my case here. Because the vast, vast majority of people around the world would look at my Japanese- born, Japanese-passport holding English children and laugh at the idea that they are Japanese.

I really don't think that's the case at all. I think most people can grasp the concept that someone be Japanese, but have British heritage. Just like the suicide bomber was British with Lybian heritage.

So op you and your husband move to the Republic of Ireland, you have children, they grow up in Ireland, have Irish citizenship and spend their entire life in Ireland, they then go on to marry children of someone who had British parents and have children, so by using your logic the grandchildren, who'd spent their entire lives in Ireland and their parents had spent their entire lives in Ireland would still be British?

ShatnersWig · 25/05/2017 13:59

Surfer You're proving my point. Thanks.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/05/2017 14:01

I have been racially abused with my children on the street. At no point did I consider blowong up any people who shared the race of my assailant

On that I do agree with you. My DH as a child suffered severe anti semitism. He hasn't turned to violence.

ivanagroot · 25/05/2017 14:39

I have been racially abused with my children on the street. At no point did I consider blowong up any people who shared the race of my assailant

Exactly. Hell, we have all just had someone slaughter children at a gig for being children in Britain. Are we all considering popping out and slaughtering some random innocent people's kids to balance it out?

No obviously not, because someone doing that isn't somebody doing a six-of-one, half-a-dozen-of-the-other fixing of an injustice, they aren't righting a wrong or protesting. They are an evil piece of shit who sets out to kill kids and does so.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 25/05/2017 14:47

They are vile chancers totally agree on that but they may well get votes with this crap.

ShatnersWig · 25/05/2017 15:47

OP and Surferjet This is in the UKIP manifesto. Genuinely. Do you think this is a sensible policy? You expect people to take UKIP seriously if they think this is of national importance?

To think UKIP have just saved themselves from extinction?
Charmageddon · 25/05/2017 15:58

Shatner, have just scanned through the UKIP manifesto but can't seem to find that - what page is it on?

ExplodedCloud · 25/05/2017 16:08

It isn't Shatner

Kokusai · 25/05/2017 16:15

Because the vast, vast majority of people around the world would look at my Japanese- born, Japanese-passport holding English children and laugh at the idea that they are Japanese.

So what if you had moved to Australia? Would you consider your children Australian if they had been born and educated there and had Australian passports?

Nationality and race are two different things as well you bloody well know.

Are African-Americans not really american?

Kokusai · 25/05/2017 16:17

Charmageddon · 25/05/2017 16:21

kokusai, I know the EU flag thing is in there - it's the specifically the picture of the 'manifesto extract' that shatner posted that I'm interested in.

The one that says schools will be banned from giving out gold/yellow stars.

You know, the bullshit bit that isn't real.
