To think UKIP have just saved themselves from extinction?

Let's face it, after brexit they were going the way of the dodo.

By throwing themselves into the often politely ignored issues around community integration and extremism I think they will be stealing a big chunk of the Tory vote again.

Especially the removal of passports from anyone leaving the country to fight for ISIS.

If that had been in place earlier then the Manchester murderer wouldn't have been able to enter the country.

Not a UKIP supporter by the way, would never consider voting for them.

I think there's a place for UKIP in the remainder of this campaign now, absolutely.

If Labour go after TM for the police cuts with specific references to Manchester (however justified), it's blatantly making political capital of the back of dead children & parents.

Similarly if the Tories go after JC for his previous demands for allowing tax payers to 'opt out' of military funding, or his previous actions wrt terrorists (inviting them to HoC straight after bombing & killing people), and mourning the 'soldiers' of terrorism and saluting their 'brave fight' etc (again, they would be wholly justified to do so).

The only party that can really, truly be truthful about both Labour & Conservative's failings in these areas, at this time, is UKIP.

It will be great if they have.

They'll never get enough votes for power but they might take enough away from the tories to stop them getting it.

Although last time it was Labour voters who they took so I don't know.

@HateSummer

It seems he was, and was part of a "scene" of people who sympathize with ISIS etc.

It is normally difficult to say how any authority should deal with such people because of that inconvenient thing (some people seem to have forgotten about) of trying to maintain a decent free country but ISIS is an external state that is at war with the UK, which means that dealing with such people fairly summarily (within reason of course) would be pretty much normal for any state to do.

Terrorist suspects had their control orders lifted to go and fight Gadaffi and were then let back in, no questions asked, according to this piece.
Makes you wonder why anyone trusts Theresa May to keep people safe if this is what she got up to at the Home Office.

THIS

IDontBowlOnShabbos I wonder why anyone trusts a single word that comes out of her mouth, I really do. Makes my blood boil the way she's painting herself a hero for bringing in the army to protect us. Had she not slashed our policing budgets so harshly there would be less need? We all need to wake up and see this woman for what she is- utterly poisonous and self-serving.

This is from two years ago. May telling the police they were crying wolf when they expressed security concerns about cuts.

They're the only ones brave enough to say what the silent majority think

Fuck off, they don't speak for me or any of the 87% of voters who didn't vote for them in 2015 and that's likely to represent the high watermark of their support.

Killdora · 25/05/2017 11:22

If I'm being completely honest I don't expect them to get in to power.

However I'll still be semwitchong my vote to them.

I expect it will work somewhat like brexit.

UKIP never got a sniff of power really but their support grew to an amount that meant the Tory party etc. modified their policies to better reflect what they saw people wanting.

The terrorist was UK born. The very last thing our country needs are even more extremists and loons.

Shameful, even by your low standards, surferjet .

I don't see what policies they have? How does halting immigration stop terrorists born and raised in the UK? How does banning face veils make these women feel welcome and accepted and more likely to come forward if there are issues?

Even if people believed in the (trash) they were talking, how the hell could you vote for that shower of sleazy, thick people?

It's a useful indicator that someone is likely to be a racist twat.

Report
Killdora · 25/05/2017 11:31

Yes that was exactly what people said before the eu referendum.

'Oh do bore off you racist bigots. UKIP will never get in power so we won't be leaving the eu. Crawl back under your rock.'

Remind me how that worked again?

True ukip never reached power (and never will I personally reckon)

However they got enough popular opinion behind them to change minds and party manifestos of the people who did get in to power.

I fully expect that to happen again, if not in this election then in the following ones.

I believe the Times have reported that his friends and family had concerns about him and had made intelligence services aware. So no, ukip do not speak to the silent majority, or any majority. Their immigration policies make no difference here. . You're misinformed. And just wrong.

JamieXeed74 · 25/05/2017 11:31

LOL, is this a UKIP focus group to see how well their manifesto went down?

They have just done a Jeremy Corbyn, who is trying to bribe everyone with fantasy money. UKIP are just trying to bribe everyone by promising to throw out the Muslims. Just desperate!

They won't. Not many candidates. Less than the Greens I believe.

Listen to the interview with Nuttall on the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning. A greater pile of unsubstantiated drivel I have never heard come out of someone's mouth.

I nearly crashed the car I got so cross.

Voting for them is idiotic.
