Explosion reported in Manchester area, hopefully it's nothing

Let's ignore valfane

HaveAWeeNap · 22/05/2017 23:58

Can't believe the sniping and nit picking going on here!
My friends were there and saw what happened.
They were terrified for their lives.
Multiple fatalities and injuries, lots of young kids.
Absolutely horrendous.

HaveAWeeNap · 22/05/2017 23:59

Sentimental hysteria?
Words fail me.

HaveAWeeNap · 22/05/2017 23:59

Whatever has caused it, people have died.

"Pray for Manchester" Drives me mad all this jumping on the bandwagon. What do you even mean OP??

Bloody shame on you and some of the other 'blase' posts from some pompus twats. I rarely swear but ffs give your head a wobble instead of trying to act like you're somehow 'superior' to an OP who is obviously worried, and what is now coming out with massive egg on your faces that it's very much looking like another terrorist attack with horrific pictures of injured people and witness accounts.

brexitstolemyfuture · 23/05/2017 00:03

It's very much looking like it was somewhere between the station and the arena. This isn't looking like an accident :(

Who the fuck targets an event with young children attending?!

OP posts:
ginghambox · 23/05/2017 00:04

Have a guess

LockedOutOfMN · 23/05/2017 00:04

Very sad. Thoughts and love and prayers for those poor people and their families.

ComingUpTrumps · 23/05/2017 00:04

gingham Hmm please. That's not helpful.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 23/05/2017 00:05

Other thread is saying it was from the box office area

LallanasInPyjamas · 23/05/2017 00:05

Judging by the video footage the stampede could have caused fatalities in itself. Sky/BCC painfully slow updating.

I haven't heard of this artist but my dds obviously have.

If it's a terrorist attack which it looks like then arnt they utter utter cowards to attack little girls like this but that's their MO isn't it!

Thoughts and prayers for all tonight xxx

ginghambox · 23/05/2017 00:06

No possibly not .I apologise.

TinselTwins · 23/05/2017 00:07

Sounds like the majority of fatalities/injuries might be due to crushing/panic and blocked exits Sad

"It was one bang and essentially everyone from the other side of the arena where the bang was heard from suddenly came running towards us as they were trying to exit Trinity Way and that was blocked so everyone was just running to any exit they could find as quickly as they could."

BeepBeepMOVE · 23/05/2017 00:07

Link to other, longer running, nicer named thread

shinyredbus · 23/05/2017 00:07

soooo... a horrendous explosion and people have died, and some people on here are picking at the OP's thread title?! Confused Christ alive. Shame on you.

BillSykesDog · 23/05/2017 00:07

Apparently a lot of children have been separated from their parents but a centre has been set up for them in the Holiday Inn.

MrsABrown72 · 23/05/2017 00:08

Oh my - at an event aimed at little girls. Sick.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 23/05/2017 00:08

22 fatalities Sad

Theimpossiblegirl · 23/05/2017 00:09

Has it been confirmed that it was a deliberate attack? BBC World News is suggesting a tragic accident with a giant helium balloon and a stampede.

Either way, my thoughts are with everyone involved, but it's not right to start speculating and hinting if nothing is confirmed.

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher · 23/05/2017 00:10

Why would the trains be closed though? Sounds like a
Explosion on the line that impacted onto the venue.

The explosion was huge

rightsaidfrederickII · 23/05/2017 00:13

Dianneabbottsmathsteacher - Manchester Victoria is next door to the Arena, so it's probably closed as a precaution

mrsrumplestiltskin · 23/05/2017 00:13

I agree it's not right to speculate but to ridicule??? and come on, explosions in a packed venue who wouldn't assume terrorism? but to ridicule the OP is beyond the pale and I really hope those are suitably ashamed.

Thoughts and prayers to those involved xx

valfane · 23/05/2017 00:14

'It's not right to start speculating and hinting if nothing is confirmed.' Absolutely. It just makes you look ghoulish.
