To not want dd to call her baby Dave?

I'm quite happy for it to stay simply as "baby" but her brother keeps telling her to call it Dave. Or Farty-pants. But Dave seems to be sticking. It doesn't even look like a Dave. I spent ages online picking one that wasn't terrible looking and now it's going to be known as Dave!

Could you refer to it as Davina? Maybe it'll stick and dd won't notice?

GotToGetMyFingerOut · 05/04/2017 17:44

A doll? Who cares what she calls it. Yabu.

ThreeLeggedHaggis · 05/04/2017 17:44

Are you talking about a doll?

My friends called their unborn baby 'Baby Dave' and it made me laugh every time. She turned out to be a girl and is now called Isabel.

Isadora2007 · 05/04/2017 17:45

A doll? Seriously...you're even thinking of this as an issue? Weird.

Feelinglikeafailure · 05/04/2017 17:47

What does a dave look like

ajandjjmum · 05/04/2017 17:47

A joke Isadora!!!

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/04/2017 17:49

I prefer Farty Pants.

is a brilliant name for a baby. Dave could be PM or a CEO.

Gary
Alan

Louisa was my sisters go-to.
Every time a new doll appeared, that was its name.
Then she'd cut all its hair off.

WindwardCircle · 05/04/2017 17:55

My niece named hers Limey Germ, Dave seems tame in comparison. (Assuming your talking baby dolls of course).

SuperManStoleMyPants · 05/04/2017 17:56

A child I cared for had a lovely fluffy teddy called Dave. It's an awesome name.

SmokyDepths · 05/04/2017 17:56

I know someone who's family nicknamed their unborn DAUGHTER Brian Grin they even wrote on a little hat 'baby Brian' Grin

NerrSnerr · 05/04/2017 18:02

I called my baby girl Jamie as a 4 year old before it came cool. I was a trend setter. Her full name was Jamie Jane.

HelsinkiLights · 05/04/2017 18:04

We had Maggie Stella, Hannah & Rosa.
Unfortunately Rosa 'drowned' when she fell down the loo & got stuck! She was a doll that would 'wee' when you give it water so DD & friends would like 'toilet training' her.
That was fun trying to get a Baby Born out of the loo.
Poor little Rosa was abandoned by DD even after the poor doll was cleaned by washing machine & then dishwasher.
Rosa got adopted either by the British Heart Foundation or the NSPCC (recycling bag collection)

Mine were Araminta and Thomasina... my sister's was Sharon. Guess baby Dave takes after that side of the family.

Mine were Peter and Nobody Grin

RedScissors · 05/04/2017 18:08

My dollies were old-lady chic before it was chic!

MrsCaecilius · 05/04/2017 18:08

I named my only doll Mrs Thatcher. I watched a lot of news as a 3 year old.

dylsmimi · 05/04/2017 18:10

It reminds me of the big dog on goggle box. Maybe Dave is making a come back
I think you need to suggest it a lot for girls on the baby name threads

One of my brownies had a beautiful baby called fishy pie. She had also nail varnished her lips and sharpied on some eyebrows.
