To not want dd to call her baby Dave?

I'm quite happy for it to stay simply as "baby" but her brother keeps telling her to call it Dave. Or Farty-pants. But Dave seems to be sticking. It doesn't even look like a Dave. I spent ages online picking one that wasn't terrible looking and now it's going to be known as Dave!

DD2 called her dolls "Ugly baby" and "Horrible baby". Probably good that she has no desire to have any children...

When my DD was 2 she had a doll called Armchair. . We kept asking her to repeat it as we thought she was mispronouncing it. But Armchair it stayed.

Hahaha!! I had a cat named Dave!! I love it!!!

hiimmumma · 05/04/2017 18:22

When I was a kid I called all my dolls Baby Jesus!
I think Dave would have been a better choice.

My uncle called my teddy Deathwarmedup, and it stuck. I was about 23 before I realised what it meant.

EvilTwins · 05/04/2017 18:47

My sister had a baby doll called Geoffrey.

DD has a toy monkey called Boris.

I took DD's discarded baby to school (secondary) to use as a prop 5 years ago. The "big children" christened her Shaniqua. The name stuck.

HappyFlappy · 05/04/2017 18:47

My DD's dolls were Goldilocks and Blackie.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 05/04/2017 18:48

Mine were Lea, Anna, Virginia, Leo and Teddy... (

My little sister (who didn't really like many dolls) had one called Fiona.

Bluntness100 · 05/04/2017 18:50

I think the fact you refer to your child's doll as her baby is much more concerning than the fact she calls it Dave,,,Hmm

toptomatoes · 05/04/2017 18:50

DD wants to call our puppy Pink Car. The babies are all called baby though.

picklemepopcorn · 05/04/2017 18:53

Bluntness round here, dolls are always referred to as babies. Dolly is never used. It took me a while to get used to it...

HairySunshine · 05/04/2017 18:53
