OP posts:
HotSince82 · 30/03/2017 20:36

Its acceptable to be unashamedly working class over there.

In fact its fine not to GAF about class full stop.

PerspicaciaTick · 30/03/2017 20:36

It is a bit "Nanny State" over there - a bit like being at a Children's Centre, which can be brilliant but can also mean feeling like there is only one right way of doing things which is rigorously policed.
That said, the local pages are 1000x better than ours.

winnietherpooh · 30/03/2017 20:37

I know a couple of people who found mn too tough and rather bitchy and prefer netmums.

For me there's intelligent debate on mn. Educational debate about things you can't find anywhere else e.g. Feminism, fgm, rape culture, There's all the preg posts but a hellava lot more too.

Jaffacakecake1234 · 30/03/2017 20:39

Im not checking it my self because honestly id prefer to hear other people tell me instead of installing it on my phone and making an account. Tjats why

doyouwantabrew ino ino i need to calm down hahaha

Hun x

Dontactlikeyouknowme · 30/03/2017 20:41

Its true Netmums is not as class obsessed as MN.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/03/2017 20:41

You don't need an account and you can look it up on your internet browser.

OvO · 30/03/2017 20:41

We like punctuation on MN.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Grin. I couldn't use a semi-colon if you paid me, but some people are veeeery serious about it. Be afraid. Shock

HelenaGWells · 30/03/2017 20:41

It's the Twilight of forums, Full of sparkles and blandness.

Carrados · 30/03/2017 20:42

Because if I threatened to patio my DH on NetMums, they'd call the police.

On MN I'd get a glass of wine and a help with the shovelling.

Dontactlikeyouknowme · 30/03/2017 20:43

You can read it without joining.

I reckon OP knows perfectly well what Netmums is like.

Freshprincess · 30/03/2017 20:43

You can visit the website and visit the forum without logging in, same as here. I just did.

Seems to be lots of pg and baby stuff which is probably what put me off last time I looked.

PineWoods · 30/03/2017 20:43

I signed up just to try to get banned. But it was so lame that I couldn't even muster up a bun fight, let alone get the ban hammer.

kali110 · 30/03/2017 20:44

You can't swear and the slightest disagreement and the thread/post is pulled.
If you have highlighted a post that is deleted then your post is also deleted Confused.
They also don't give a reason for why a thread is deleted.
I haven't been on there for a while.
Too heavily moderated.

PineWoods · 30/03/2017 20:44

I reckon OP knows perfectly well what Netmums is like.

I reckon that you reckon correctly.

maddiemookins16mum · 30/03/2017 20:44

MN think they are far better than NM, earn more and hate anyone saying hun, bubba, hubby etc.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/03/2017 20:45

Or course she does.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 30/03/2017 20:46

'Ur babez, ur rools hun'

Grin

I've never gone there either... But I think it's what some mumsnetters call "the other place", right?

Maudlinmaud · 30/03/2017 20:46

Grin oh this just got interesting.

sobeyondthehills · 30/03/2017 20:47

MN = Gets to the point quicker
NM = hugs and gentle walk through

Although I do see a lot more slagging off on MN's about NMs then the other way round

elQuintoConyo · 30/03/2017 20:48

I got banned for posting a picture of John Hamm's cock.

RebelRogue · 30/03/2017 20:48

The main differences are that you can't swear on there and the mods delete everything and anything. They're quite fast and loose with warnings and bans and such.
Other than that pretty much the same.

BastardGoDarkly · 30/03/2017 20:49

Op, are you sure you've never been? Hmm

I find it very different, the swearing, the Huns, the ott mods, tickers, i don't like it. They say ino instead of I know too Wink

Definitely a younger demographic yes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/03/2017 20:49

Does anyone remember the mass invasion where loads of mumsnetters registered on netmums & went around correcting everyone's grammar?.

It was very mean but so funny.

I think people got banned from net mums pretty swiftly.

MrsEvadneCake · 30/03/2017 20:50

MN doesn't often give NM a thought tbh. I stay here because I prefer to be a cunt than a Hun.
