Three pairs of pants is NOT enough... is it??

Noticed there were hardly ever pairs of DP's pants in the wash basket, so I bought him a pack that looked comfy and were reasonably priced, and put them in his underwear drawer.

When I mentioned I'd done this he said, "Oh, you didn't need to do that - I already have three pairs."

I press him on this and he says that, 'as [he's] not a woman', he doesn't need to change his pants every day and three pairs is plenty.

As in he literally own three pairs. In total.

He's been wearing them in rotation and if I'd have to estimate I'd say that unless I forcibly liberate them from his Floor Closet (that's a rant for another day) they aren't getting washed more than once every two weeks.

Am I being precious or is this just... eughh???!!

Another fella here saying EW, no, clean undies every day for me!

glitterglitters · 23/03/2017 17:37

Lol this reminds me of a guy I used to work in an office with who only owned one jumper 😂

MummyMuppet2x2 · 23/03/2017 17:39

Jaxhog · 23/03/2017 17:40

Eew!

Goldfishjane · 23/03/2017 17:41

how can you date this guy and how come you're doing his laundry?!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 23/03/2017 17:44

I dated a man that used to turn his pants inside out on the second day to get another day's wear out of them. I'm not sure of the logic.

Katie0705 · 23/03/2017 17:50

When you say you have to forcibly remove them from the floor closet...is this because they are well and truly stuck to the carpet? Ewwww 🙀😂

As long as he's not expecting you to have sex with him it's fine

clarehhh · 23/03/2017 17:53

Ugh that is revolting, just weaned mine off one pair every 2 days which was revolting and unnecessary with 30 ironed pairs in drawer.

MrsPeelyWaly · 23/03/2017 17:55

My ds only has 3 pairs !! He has special, wicking ones that are seamless and stop him from getting sweaty. (( he has Autism ))

What make are they please?

feellikeanalien · 23/03/2017 18:07

Just asked my DP what he thought. His reply? Gross!

IloveBanff · 23/03/2017 18:08

Why are people querying whether the OP means underpants when that's clear from the first paragraph where she says "so I bought him a pack that looked comfy and were reasonably priced, and put them in his underwear drawer."

Ericaequites · 23/03/2017 18:11

I am an American. When I hear pants, I do think of men's trousers worn over briefs, tighie whities, or boxers. It's disgusting any way you construe it.
Mothers, teach your sons to use hampers. Their spouses will thank you later.

floraeasy · 23/03/2017 18:15

What are you going to do, OP?

He doesn't sound like he understands why this is so nasty. He may clean up his act just to keep you happy. Which would be nice. However, it does rather set a mother dynamic going on. Do you want this to be your life?

Can we have a link to these please?

Guitargirl · 23/03/2017 18:23

Christ, I have fairly low standards Blush and even I think this is rank. Every 2 weeks! Doesn't he smell?

Roversandrhodes · 23/03/2017 18:27

Vile .I wouldn't be putting up with that .

Naicehamshop · 23/03/2017 18:28

I used to work with a man who used to proudly tell everyone that he didn't wear underpants ( I've no idea why he was so proud Confused).

The thing was that he didn't need to tell us - the smell of stale urine where little drops had seeped into his (probably dry-clean) trousers was enough.

Yes - men leak drops of wee. Just think what your dp's pants must be like!

Rachel0Greep · 23/03/2017 18:32

Seven pages, and the OP has posted twice...Hmm
