Three pairs of pants is NOT enough... is it??

Noticed there were hardly ever pairs of DP's pants in the wash basket, so I bought him a pack that looked comfy and were reasonably priced, and put them in his underwear drawer.

When I mentioned I'd done this he said, "Oh, you didn't need to do that - I already have three pairs."

I press him on this and he says that, 'as [he's] not a woman', he doesn't need to change his pants every day and three pairs is plenty.

As in he literally own three pairs. In total.

He's been wearing them in rotation and if I'd have to estimate I'd say that unless I forcibly liberate them from his Floor Closet (that's a rant for another day) they aren't getting washed more than once every two weeks.

Am I being precious or is this just... eughh???!!

fresh boxers, socks and shirts daily
Trousers and jumpers I think are ok to wear more than one though.

Just gross - I like clean boxers every day, and don't imagine a circumstance where I would not do that - even camping etc.

Cotton lawn boxers x at least 25/30 and he likes them ironed and folded a certain way.

Well, if he's happy to waste his time ironing and folding boxers that's his choice, as long as he doesn't expect you to do it for him.

He did the washing and it was only when I was off work and started doing it that I realised I wasn't washing many of his pants. I asked and he said he thought they could all be worn 2 days in a row - Eeeeew!

I promptly informed him we would no longer be having sex and new pants were quickly bought and washed on a more frequent basis

Seriously that is awful. Only 3 pants ! I would be buying more than one pack. I can't imagine only owning 3 pairs of knickers. Even my DS who is 9 has more ... About 15-20 pairs. You can never have too many.

That's wrong on every level. I'm not an obsessively tidy or clean person but knickers; fresh pair every morning. Another fresh pair after I shower after work. If I go on holiday 1 pair per day plus a few extra for good measure. If I will be exercising on holiday then 2 pair per day. I went travelling in my 20s with a small rucksack. Had 10 pairs of knickers. Figured I would wash clothes every 5 to 7 days so 10 wd get me through that.

He fails even my slatternly standards.

Oh, and btw, this man would not come anywhere near me without a shower to which I have been an eyewitness

The first thing that changed when dh and I got together was his belief that pants and socks could be worn twice before going into the wash. He'd always had a shower every day but who the fuck thinks you do that then put on dirty underwear?

Doesn't he find putting used boxers on uncomfortable? I did it a few times when I was a student (when I'd been too disorganised to do laundry) not comfy - its just like putting on used socks but round your privates, just uch. That said I've never thought much of it before but my other half wears the same bra for days on end, and I'll wear a shirt for 2-3 days except in summer when its one day only

My OH has more than 3 pairs but he might as well not bother watering them at all because they all have such big tears in the crotch that they are not fit for purpose

My husband wears jeans 4-5x before washing.

But office pants, he changes it everyday.

My other half packed 12 pairs of pants for a 7 night holiday....ok a bit excessive but three pairs in total....yuyk
