To find it really difficult to get remotely excited about friends getting married when they already have DC with that person?

Most people those days have already set up a home together before getting married. Marrying before even moving in together is very rare.

And I think that's a good thing. Less ugly surprises that way.

I only have to read the relationships board to see that some women are very, very lucky they didn't get married to their future ex before moving in with him and finding out that he's an asshole.

If a friend of mine suddenly "just knew" that she met her soulmate, and married him within three months, I'd probably be more worried for her wellbeing than anything else. Might count as excitement, but I'd rather just be happy and eat too much cake.

I don't even like weddings, but that is a miserable thought. What's children got to do with it?

I don't get excited but I still think it's nice when people get married, if anything nicer when they've got kids actually!

I love weddings, so I'd probably get excited. Smile
However I wouldn't be able to stop myself from thinking privately that they were doing it the totally wrong way round....
