And how incredibly rude and ignorant and patronising to just assume that just because YOU can't make your own decisions and do anything without influence or because it's expected of you, that everyone else is the same. Who do you think you are?

Bollocks, we all follow fashions and expectations to some extent. I haven't met anyone who doesn't.

I am done on this thread now. I can see that some people don't like it when people DARE to have an opinion that they don't agree with. I am glad I have a friendship circle that is like me, and not like some of the (very defensive) women on here.

You are the most defensive person on this thread. You are overreacting.

N1ghtshade · 23/02/2017 20:41

No need for anyone to use a razor anywhere, I found this out the first time I went through the undignified process of a hollywood wax (sugaring). The middle-eastern waxer mentioned how she does it herself, and since then I have been able to wax(sugar) myself even in the nether regions and only have to do so once a month. Plenty of baby powder and working in tiny strips from one side to the other. I also sugar my underarms. I prefer this staying completely smooth and then only fine hair growing out to stubble that comes with shaving, and having to shave so often.

N1ghtshade · 23/02/2017 20:50

another benefit of sugaring is you can just wash it off if you do end up in a sticky situation. exfolating and not wearing tight nylon undies will prevent irritation , but I can understand its not for everyone.

Just a question though, if hairless nether regions are influenced by porn, does that go for hairless legs and armpits too?

picklemepopcorn · 23/02/2017 20:55

I've sugared in the past nightshade- how do you do it? I really ought to make more of an effort with my pits and legs.

SanitysSake · 23/02/2017 21:01

Tell him to put this on his bollocks every week for the rest of his life. And if he doesn't, you won't have sex with him any more.

Read the reviews from men -they're hilarious.

What an idiot. Women come with hair for a reason.

emilybrontescorset · 23/02/2017 21:18

If tell him to shave his pubes too
Then get rid of the beard.

Steady on Klaphat!
You mentioned we'd be elderly when we lose our froufrou foof, but we are merely menopausal. Not quite ready to be called elderly.

Klaphat · 23/02/2017 22:09

Steady on yourself. While I can see how what I said could be misinterpreted by people trying to miss the point, and don't object to that all that much, I do object to being called a 'cheeky mare' by some random on the internet while they do so.

I said elderly women may lose their hair. Post-menopausal women, then, to be more all-encompassing. Though I don't think the trend in porn is for a thinning bush, or even the stage where there are just a handful of stragglers, is it? Anyway, is the baldness in porn due to these post-menopausal-but-not-elderly women that have magically lost all trace of their pubic hair without intervention, then? I mean, I knew about the MILF and granny categories, but I thought they were rather niche.

Hmm

Klaphat

How very humourless you are.HmmHmm

Klaphat · 23/02/2017 22:19

I'm glad you could take the time to bestow such wisdom Cara, lord knows you're usually busy enough spreading it around every other thread.

PastysPrincess · 23/02/2017 22:22

As far as I'm concerned if my husband wants me to keep everything tidy, he can too. It'll be a damnsite more difficult for him than me.

dataandspot · 23/02/2017 22:35

Little frog

You are not affected by media etc but on another thread about life as a single mother you said single mothers don't pay for school trips, get rent paid, don't pay council tax etc?

You sound very led by the media to me!!

FriendofBill · 23/02/2017 22:39

EyeSaidTheFly · 23/02/2017 22:49

Have a Biscuit, littlefrog

Carry on, Bertrand. You are doing a sterling job.

Itisnoteasybeingdifferent · 23/02/2017 22:52

Give him a wax ... but using duct tape ...

It is actually very effective as a wax substitute and far cheaper....

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 23/02/2017 22:58

Shave my pits and legs in the summer and trim my pubes when i feel like it

Well aware that i have been influenced by society's pressure

I love that caitlin moran quote i used it today when talking to dd and ds1 about prostitution...knew i shouldnt let dd watch pretty woman Sad

PickAChew · 23/02/2017 23:08

Offer to wax his balls and see if he finds it so appealing.

PickAChew · 23/02/2017 23:11

When DH was clean shaven, even a day's stubble would give me a horrible rash.

He has a beard, these days, and it's lovely and soft.

N1ghtshade · 23/02/2017 23:32

@pickle, here in Germany we have alot of Turkish/Oriental supermarkets and I get the sugar paste/wax there in little containers for about a euro. I make sure to get the very thick (almost solid) consistency thats called hand wax or ball method. Take a tiny amount out and stretch until it softens. I would start on arm or facial hair, (but not eyebrows!)
There are alot of youtube tutorials too under Arabian or Arabic wax. You could get the sugaring wax off amazon too, Ive tried to make it myself, too much work.

Finally to actually wax I suggest a locked bedroom, lying on a towel ( on your back - knees over edge of the bed), powder the entire area with baby talc and rub this in so you have a skin barrier . Also make sure the pubic hair trimmed down to an inch or so. Then just try lay a pinkie finger size strip in an upwards swipe and after 2 seconds remove with a flicking motion down and away . Start on either side from the outermost region and work your way across in tiny strips.

(final tip, let the sugar wax still be fairly stiff for this area as your body heat could melt it too fast to peel away cleanly) in which case, a warm shower will wash the wax away

2rebecca · 23/02/2017 23:49

My bush has thinned considerably since the menopause despite HRT and I'm not sure why Klaphat got so much grief for telling how things are for many postmenopausal women. Value your bushes whilst you still have them.

5OBalesofHay · 24/02/2017 00:14

Klaphat had it pointed out that being post menopausal doesnt make us elderly. Not really a hard time.

Klaphat · 24/02/2017 01:20

Klaphat had it pointed out that being post menopausal doesnt make us elderly. Not really a hard time.

And I pointed out that that is not what I said. I chose elderly women specifically because they were more likely to have reached the stage of being bald, and thus, you know, relevant to my point. What a cheeky mare Hmm trying to imply I was saying that, even after I clarified that I wasn't.

picklemepopcorn · 26/02/2017 14:57

Thanks nightshade! I might try my underarm, if I can find some.

5OBalesofHay · 27/02/2017 00:11

Apologies kraphat I had not taken into account your abilities. Clearly shouldn't have called you a cheeky mare. After all you are just some random off the internet
