www.uniteforeurope.org

  • we are about to spend £120 billion extricating ourselves from the EU. That money is desperately needed in health and social care sectors.
  • many Leave campaign promises, voted for in good faith are untrue
  • millions of people directly affected by Brexit were not allowed a vote.
-the referendum was advisory. To have been binding, a supermajority would have been needed to make such a huge constitutional change.
  • Brexit is likely to result in the permanent break-up of the UK.
  • we are turning our back on our friends and allies of 40 years
  • EU citizens in the UK are uncertain of their rights and in many cases feel unwelcome.

I don't like particularly enjoy going to London, I hate crowds, but I HAVE to be at this march. Please consider attending and sharing this event. We are all victims of a fraudulent campaign and are facing a Tory hard destructive unopposed Brexit. I will NOT let this happen to my children without a fight.

OP posts:

Narky so not decided by stupid people, with an equal share on each side? Therefore the clever money was on Brexit, being the sensible choice.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 00:21

No, there were far more stupid people on the leave side, by its very nature, since it was a stupid idea from the outset.

ginghambox · 14/02/2017 00:40

17.410.472 stupid people voted to leave. yes right

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 00:43

Stupid is as stupid does!

ginghambox · 14/02/2017 00:47
Grin
ginghambox · 14/02/2017 00:59

Read the OP, who say's it's £120 Billion?
Many remain promises are untrue.
Anyone who was entitled to vote was alowed.
It was advisory ,but parliament voted to abide by the result.
Good.
Our what?
Ask Mrs Merkel and the rest of the EU to guarantee the rights of Britians living in the EU.

PennyPickle · 14/02/2017 01:03

- many Leave campaign promises, voted for in good faith are untrue
Name one
Here's two for starters:
£350million for the NHS
That we would not leave the Single Market

Nobody could have predicted that £350m could be spent on the NHS. What the Leave campaign were trying to get across is the amount UK gives to Brussels to be part of the EU could be better spent. Its strange how only the remainers can't see that.

Also Cameron and Osbourne stated, many times, on the run up to the referendum that leaving the EU would mean leaving the single market. gain it's only the remainers who seem to have missed that....

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 14/02/2017 07:03

And we're back to the name calling.

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 07:20

The director of the Leave campaign admits it was the lies that handed them the victory

and the director of the Leave campaign is now the font of all truth?

If this is the case and people were "tricked", please explain why the polls show essentially no change in how people would vote now?

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 07:25

Stupid is as stupid does!

Goodness, with credible, convincing and liberal-minded arguments like that on its side, It's hard to understand why remain lost.

StrawberryShortcake32 · 14/02/2017 07:27

Oh for goodness sake this has been done to death.
We are living in a democracy. Whether you like it or not Britain voted out. Appreciate your need to throw your toys out the pram that you didn't get what you want but here's the thing.

Calling leave voters racist, nazis and xenophobic is really just spiteful!
My husband is south African, my cousins are Canadian. I have family outside the EU. Am I a xenophobic racist nazi for wanting out of an outdated institution that lines more politicians pockets in their big fat cat club in Brussels, who don't allow us to trade with the rest of the world? NO I'm not!

We didn't get an option to vote in by the way, that's what was undemocratic about the whole thing, so I'm a racist nazi for wanting to vote out?

Please! Save your insults for someone who cares. Enjoy your march thing...I hope it rains.

Oneiroi · 14/02/2017 09:41

OP thank you for doing this. If I wasn't expecting my first baby this week I would absolutely be there by your side. I'm so sad and disgusted at the path the UK is taking. Unfortunately it seems that the madness will not abate despite the best efforts of you and others like you so I don't want to raise a family here, we plan to emigrate before things get worse. Best of luck though.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 10:12

If you cant tell the difference between an argument and an insult, you're kinda proving my point!

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I'm merely calling stupid people stupid.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 10:13

Calling leave voters racist, nazis and xenophobic is really just spiteful!

It's not spiteful when its true. Smile

Oneiroi · 14/02/2017 10:31

Narky unfortunately we aren't allowed to hold facts in higher esteem than unsupported assertions anymore. Apparently all opinions, no matter how ignorant, are of equal value.

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 10:34

I'm not sure what point you are trying to prove to yourself or others Narky but I think most people have the insight to see through someone using unintelligent (and inaccurate) stereotyping, insults, name calling and intolerance whilst accusing others of being stupid and xenophobic.

But I assume you will carry on, as for some odd reason it is making you feel better. (Note - calling other people stupid neither makes you more intelligent nor makes other people believe you are more intelligent).

Oh, get a grip. "All leave voters are nazis". If that is your level of "fact", and not an "unsupported assertion", well, I'm beyond words really.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 10:38

You're not? I think I was quite clear when I said:
I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I'm merely calling stupid people stupid

(Note - calling other people stupid neither makes you more intelligent nor makes other people believe you are more intelligent)

Ooh thanks, for some reason I thought my IQ would go up when I insulted people Hmm

Oneiroi · 14/02/2017 10:39

Some facts about the voting statistics, for those without a fact allergy:

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 10:41

Narky You are not calling stupid people stupid. You are calling leave voters stupid. I know in your little world it's the case that if you say something it's true, but actually, it isn't.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 14/02/2017 10:42

Narky You are not calling stupid people stupid. You are calling leave voters stupid

Only the stupid ones. Now, if YOU are saying they are ALL stupid, that's your thing, I never said that.
Smile

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 10:47

Oh One you're one of those "everyone without a degree is stupid" people are you? Interesting. Presumably also one of those people who thinks a correlation means that everyone with a degree voted remain and everyone without leave. No, it's a statistical correlation. Perhaps read up on some statistics theory.

There is a correlation between sex and height. But guess what, not all men are tall and all women short. It's not rocket science.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 14/02/2017 10:47

Just like to point out that educational attainment does not equal intelligence.

Some of the cleverest people and highest achieving people I have known left school at 16.

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 10:50

Narky I took your post at 0.43 to mean all leave voters.

ReleaseTheBats · 14/02/2017 10:52

Just like to point out that educational attainment does not equal intelligence

Absolutely.
