MN clique

I'm a regular poster, and have name changed for this.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a clique here? Some people's posts always get answered and they seem like a happy friendly little group. If you're 'new' or haven't posted that much, you pretty much get ignored.

I enjoy reading the posts, and I enjoy posting, but this 'exclusivity' is really getting to me. This is supposed to be a place people can come with their problems/jokes etc, and to feel like some people are 'left out' kinda defeats the object IMHO.

I've never even looked.
What if I've been doing it wrong all these years? The shame!

A lot of the sex topic is a waste of time because it is 'urgggh' ''gross' 'you're wrong' but sometimes it can be useful for the people that it is aimed at.

Never noticed. I only really notice usernames in specific longstanding threads (e.g. stately homes) and I NC regularly.

The sex topic is fine if you are into oversharing and there's always lots of willing posters ready to educate you.

Don't go into the sex topic without wearing protective clothing.It's full of squirters and the like.

Mostly it's about subject. People post on subjects that interest them. For instance if you start a parking thread you are probably onto a winner.

Some of the longer chat threads can be a bit daunting but I've just jumped on a couple and been welcomed. I find not name changing helps if you want to be part of these though so people get to know you.

This is the least cliquey forum I've been on. There are some posters who are prolific and never name change who are more well known but I've never found any of them nasty towards someone for being new.

In my experience the nastiness mostly comes from new users and trolls or on threads about contentious subjects. There are a few prolific posters I have opposing views to but I don't worry about it. I just ignore or debate.
