MN clique

TickTickBoomBoom · 05/02/2017 14:12

I'm a regular poster, and have name changed for this.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a clique here? Some people's posts always get answered and they seem like a happy friendly little group. If you're 'new' or haven't posted that much, you pretty much get ignored.

I enjoy reading the posts, and I enjoy posting, but this 'exclusivity' is really getting to me. This is supposed to be a place people can come with their problems/jokes etc, and to feel like some people are 'left out' kinda defeats the object IMHO.

Lol at "fields around here"

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2017 16:08

This thread shows that majority of the Internet is for porn or cats

KatieScarlett · 05/02/2017 16:09

And unsubstantiated conspiracy theories Wink

CaraAspen · 05/02/2017 16:10

When people say "the regulars", I think they mean a bossy, often rude clique.

RedSauce · 05/02/2017 16:14

I change my name every week or two and still manage to get back into the clique pretty quickly and easily every time. They obviously have pretty crappy screening procedures.

CaraAspen · 05/02/2017 16:15

"NarkyMcDinkyChops

Under my usual name, I once posted a comment that got slammed by one of the 'regulars'. Ever since then, I've been ignored. This makes me think that messages were exchanged 'behind the scenes' letting everyone know to ignore me

Wowser. That is super paranoid. Maybe MN is not good for your health at this time?"

Hmm I really dislike that sort of remark alluding to someone having a mental health issue. The variants are they are alcoholics or "on the glue" as some put it. Not. Ice and definitely provocative.

I'd still like to know who is 'Regular' now. The names I recognise from old and the people I actually know hardly post these days.

I've been coming on here for a few months now and I don't usually read the names unless I want to mention them specifically which isn't often - I usually just read the threads that come up in the box on the right of the page because I'm not very good at navigating around here. I have noticed on occasion that there are maybe one or two posters whose names I have recognised because they will try to start a row on a thread but that happens on every forum I think

Fuck me, they must have spent days pm the thousands MNers. Or maybe you just talk shit, and no one can be arsed to reply.

... who don't exist, do they?

MysticTwat · 05/02/2017 16:17

Oh yeah and sorry everyone else as I haven't read the rest of the thread after that comment.

DianaMemorialJam · 05/02/2017 16:18

You're a regular now Cara ahem

Yep. Well known Grin

Ah but RedSauce
NC'ing does not negate the blood vow you took. We have your DNA. Did you think the vow "I will sell my soul and my firstborn child to the quiche" was a joke? We KNOW Grin

TickTickBoomBoom · 05/02/2017 16:21

I'm still here lol. The kids came home - I am trying to catch up. And I had to check the door was locked and that nobody was hiding behind the curtains... Wink

OK, perhaps I was being a bit paranoid. But apparently we're talking about kittens now. Personally, I have nothing against kittens, or worms, but I'm more a dog person myself. Grin

I've never found this personally! I've honestly had some wonderful support and advice here.

ghostspirit · 05/02/2017 16:25

I'm a regular and I know my ways anoy the fuck out of some people. But 9 times out of 10 i get a reply. And I would be the last person to be in a click. Maybe they just don't get seen especially if there is a fast passed long debate type thread. Could always try bumping it

derxa · 05/02/2017 16:26

I mostly post about sheep so not much of clique there. Usually a thread killer

ClashCityRocker · 05/02/2017 16:26

tick that kitten is cute, but does look like he's been put through a washer-dryer and come out wrong.

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2017 16:27

It was in a tin, Clash

Stuffedshirt · 05/02/2017 16:28

I don't like the usernames that announce some type of superiority.
