Completely don't know where to post this, and completely outing but am very chuffed that early hours of Tuesday morning I self delivered my baby on the bathroom floor after an extremely quick labour. Paramedics turned up about 5 mins later but job done at that point. First thing I noticed was that he had a penis - so that was wrong as well!!! Told 95% girl - don't think so!!

Just wanted to feel proud of myself - sorry to bore you all!

Brilliant. Congratulations.
One friend of mine had her daughter in the bathroom while her DH was on the phone to the midwife.
Another friend had her baby on the footpath outside her house while she was getting into the car to go to hospital. She was Very traumatised.

Congratulations! Beautiful baby.
I had exactly the same, tmi but needed the toilet before going into hospital and out came a baby instead!! I was very sad to be told that in our health trust you don't get to go to hospital after a home birth, I was looking forward to being looked after for a couple of days Grin
I think we both have huge bragging rights Smile

Wow. You were on your own giving birth. That must have been scary.
Well done. Flowers.
A baby boy, fab. Enjoy all those newborn snuggles. I know its a clique to say it, but. The time goes nowhere
Where you shocked to see a boy. When you were told you were expecting a girl. I've heard of that happening a few times.

I'm feeling broody now...

Littledrummergirl · 04/02/2017 00:42
Flowers I did that 15yrs ago with ds2. Dh was calling the ambulance and arrived in the bathroom to find me holding the baby. Being the first person to touch or hold him makes me go all warm and fuzzy still but it's followed up by the emotion and remembered realisation that it could, and nearly did go horribly wrong. Enjoy the lovely feelings but be prepared for the "what if" thoughts that may come as well through the years-it's bloody traumatic. I think it's only now really that I fully understand how much.

Enjoy your beautiful baby and well done for being amazing. Smile

Rainatnight · 04/02/2017 05:57
