Completely don't know where to post this, and completely outing but am very chuffed that early hours of Tuesday morning I self delivered my baby on the bathroom floor after an extremely quick labour. Paramedics turned up about 5 mins later but job done at that point. First thing I noticed was that he had a penis - so that was wrong as well!!! Told 95% girl - don't think so!!

Just wanted to feel proud of myself - sorry to bore you all!

Slimmingsnake · 02/02/2017 12:50

You could sell your story to a magazine...make some pennies ,and spend them all on yrself...they pay £10000s

user892 · 02/02/2017 12:51

Excellent! We caught our own baby at home too :)

FoolishFly · 02/02/2017 12:52

Well done, I was pleased after giving birth that I was slightly confused that the rest of the world had n't stopped.

In honour of your amazing physical feat I shall declare this afternoon a public holiday in House Fly, no work will be done, I'm going to sit on the sofa occasionally muttering 'well done' in your direction!

(Are n't female bodies amazing)

BingoBingoBingoBango · 02/02/2017 12:52

That's amazing, congratulations!

DorcasthePuffin · 02/02/2017 12:52

Wonderful, well done!

mistermagpie · 02/02/2017 12:56

This is very not boring! I had a very fast labour with DS (just made it to hospital) and people keep joking that this is going to happen to me with DC2, please could I press you for more of the details if you're not too traumatised? Were you actually on your own? You are a hero!

Comgratulations on your son, boys are yummy!

GigotdAgneau · 02/02/2017 12:56

Gosh, I'm so impressed! Bravo! Congratulations on surviving the shock!

Phalarope · 02/02/2017 12:57

Wow. Well done. Please can we have the full story? (And a pic)

Ilovewillow · 02/02/2017 12:58

ItsSoUnfairSoItIs · 02/02/2017 13:01

Definitely brag about that, not sure if it would be scary or exciting. Congratulations Flowers

QuimReaper · 02/02/2017 13:03

Holy Jesus OP, that's amazing! Well done!

Were you completely and utterly alone?

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 02/02/2017 13:03

Outstanding, OP! What a truly amazing thing to have done...you'll be dining out on that for the rest of your years, and rightly so Star Star Star

So glad you and your precious son are safe and well. Given the circumstances of his arrival, and that he's not the assumed she, I'm curious to know if his name will reflect the 'unexpected/ miracle/ surprise' element?

Aaron? ("miraculous)
Nico/ Nick/ Nicholas? (name origins, Greek, "Victory of the people").
Or Victor?!

It's all made me rather teary. Just wonderful.

FireInTheHead · 02/02/2017 13:13

You're AWESOME OP in the truest sense of that much overused word. Congratulations on your baby boy, and huge kudos for the diy home delivery. Bragging rights? Hell yes. Yep, I'd have massive flashing banners all over social media and wear a badge - a BIG badge, oh and a custom tile with an inscription made for the spot on the bathroom floor where it happened and a parade EVERY Mother's Day! Grin

Hastalapasta · 02/02/2017 13:14

Well done you! Sounds awesome. Hope you are now taking it easy, enjoying the newbie and being spoilt rotten.

AdoraBell · 02/02/2017 13:14

YANBU 😁 Congrats on the arrival of your new baby boy 🎊🎉🍾💐

bummymummy77 · 02/02/2017 13:14

Wow! Congrats and well done!!!!! Flowers

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 02/02/2017 13:15

Custom tile marking exact spot...genius idea, Fire Smile

fingles · 02/02/2017 13:16

Congratulations! That is not boasting at all, but brilliant.

Is it terrible that I am half hoping expecting a loon to post telling you off for 'assigning a gender' to your lovely new baby. That could be a female penis, y'know!

diddl · 02/02/2017 13:17

Fantastic!

Perhaps won't be named after place of birth?Grin

Congratulations.

Neolara · 02/02/2017 13:17

Massive congratulations! Brag all you want. In fact, you'll be able to bring it up at pretty much any point in your life and people with tell you you are AWESOME!

Bobochic · 02/02/2017 13:18

Congratulations!!!!

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 02/02/2017 13:28

Well done you, Fantastic and congratulations x

TheTantrumCometh · 02/02/2017 13:28

Congratulations! And you should feel proud of yourself (as all mums should) especially given the circumstances. And also that it's something you want to shout from the rooftops but in reality you don't end up telling many people, for various reasons.

So yes, shout! And we definitely need the full story

Also, how has it been wrapping your head having a DS instead of a DD? I didn't find out with any of mine so I can't imagine being told and having the opposite Grin
