I can vaguely remember similar threads but have done a search and can't find a bedroom one. We are swapping rooms in our upstairs to even out the other 2 rooms so moving from front to back of house. Just being nosy looking for inspiration if anyone is willing to post? I can post our current one once DS is asleep Smile

Awww I don't mind the fake pics, does it really matter? x

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 03/02/2017 23:56

This is mine. It's hard to get a good pic because it is a very small loft conversion but I love it... except when I bump my head which I DO A LOT. Have name changed to post this :)

EagleRay love your room and the story of your pic/DD Grin

Congratulations to everyone who hasn't obeyed the 'lots of unnecessary cushions' edict!

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 04/02/2017 00:48

This is mine... embarrassingly bought a (too big for the room) super king bed as neither of our children will sleep alone and still don't have a headboard! (And now won't have!)

Sexy! That's a new one Annie, but I'll take it! Grin

Thank you flowers

I love light, airy rooms, but we are a working farm house and I'm very relaxed with the animals let them on the bed so white and light colours just end up stressing me out. I've painted the other rooms' floors white upstairs and go there for my fix of clean as farmer and animals never go in those rooms!

WeeKelpie · 04/02/2017 05:11

weekelpie. I'm pleased you got to a place where you were ready to do your room, you've done a fab job of it. It's a fab sized room post divorce, well done on that score too.

Thank you. Smile My bedroom is the one I shared with my husband. I haven't moved since we separated. My house was designed by me about 12 years ago for extended family living so my son will always be looked after at home. Its our home and always will be. Life goes on in practical terms as before, nothing changed, its one area where I would never be able to fault him.

I completely understand why people can get to a stage in life where they give away all of their belongings and walk off into the sunset - living in my bedroom after Id pared it down to the absolute bare minimum was really good for me. It didnt all go plain sailing though because right at the last minute when I was trying to put my new room together I got brain freeze and had to have someone come in and help me do it. If you look at the side of the bed you'll see two large frames but when I bought them, after my daughter saw them in a shop, they looked nothing like they do now and it was only when I added mirrored glass to the back that they became something I really like. So yes I had help but not in a you go away for a week and when you come back your room will be ready. The woman who helped me was lovely, she patiently got things out of me over about 6 months and she's a good friend now. Smile

Screen shorted Weekelpie and claire2012 for inspiration

Thank you, Im glad you like it and I hope you have many happy years in your new home Smile

NapQueen,

Love your taste. Your children's bedroom is just adorable.

Crummyfunny,

Every detail about that room is gorgeous. So tranquil. Don't blame you for retreating there with book and Wine ...is the fireplace a working one?

NapQueen · 04/02/2017 06:18

Thanks Thalia

EchoJuliet · 04/02/2017 08:13

@foxesarefriends I'm laughing as that's my road

The one with the sofa looks good too. My son recently had to bring his brand new sofa back from his house he's letting out but we all thought we did not want it in our bed rooms so is in the garage. Now wondering if I should have put it where the two white chairs are in mine (photos above). Mind you we never sit on those either nor would on a sofa in that room but it might look better. It's blue leather though and the theme of my room, curtains, bed head is red really; although blue goes with red I suppose.

I do like people's wood floors. My daughters have those in their flats too but our house just has dark orangey everywhere just about which would be very expensive to replace so I'm stuck with the carpet. I suppose it's warm but do think wood looks better.

I took kept my room (and house) after divorce which is one reason I still have our two single beds (zipped and linked) side by side but I like the feel of my bed so don't want to change it.

DragonNoodleCake · 04/02/2017 08:38

Love all the room pictures - here is mine. I did it quite recently. I have a big white chest of drawers to my right when taking photo and there is a walk in wardrobe to the left. The master room/suite was the main selling point of this house when we were hunting/buying last year.

I LOVE the cushions on my bed. They go down the bottom of the bed for sleeping but I spend a lot of time sitting on the bed with dc - the cushions make it like a sofa.

Offred · 04/02/2017 08:55

This is my view, golf course and nursing home. I never shut my curtains ever!

I love green but DP hates it. My bedroom is a bomb site ATM and hasn't been decorated since we moved in 2.5 years ago so it's just cream. Mismatched furniture. I've just sorted both kids rooms out so all the junk has been dumped in mine and now I CBA to sort it. Here's dd1s room, I love it (she's got new drawers since cos those fell to bits.

nwbmum · 04/02/2017 09:00

this is the chill-out / reading corner of our bedroom. bed is on the right-hand side and a massive mirror wardrobe. not sure about taking a photo the other angle cos i'm sure you'll see me in the mirror!
this is my favourite place to read hide from the kids. painted the walls dark a few months ago and loves it. it's not a huge room so dark colours make it all cosy and snug

nwbmum, I adore the combination of that rug and the dark walls! I nearly got the same rug for our living room and regret not getting it now I see yours! Gorgeous bedroom.

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2017 09:18

Where is that gorgeous yellow rug from nwb? That would be perfect in my living room.

hmcAsWas · 04/02/2017 09:45

MsJamieFraser - where did you get that canvass. I want one!

WeeKelpie · 04/02/2017 09:58

Nwbmum, the pattern on my wardrobe doors is almost the same as the pattern on your lovely rug.
