I can vaguely remember similar threads but have done a search and can't find a bedroom one. We are swapping rooms in our upstairs to even out the other 2 rooms so moving from front to back of house. Just being nosy looking for inspiration if anyone is willing to post? I can post our current one once DS is asleep Smile

Exactly! Also, our cordless phones don't work in a power cut so that's why I've kept hold of the wiggly chord one. The other reason is that unfortunately I've had to answer several of those elderly parent/ health emergency calls in the middle of the night. I must admit that I hadn't known that 999 operators can locate you from your call, but now I think about it it makes perfect sense Blush

MsJamieFraser · 04/02/2017 20:27

hmc, I got it from eBay, they do them in different sizes for different prices. True in you search field deer canvases, i think it's the 8th one down or their snouts

FurryLittleTwerp · 04/02/2017 20:30

Agree, keep a plug-into-the-landline phone just for power cuts!

We have a walkabout landline phone & mobiles, but still have the old plug-in for emergencies. DH is on-call for a local hospital sometimes.

Someone posted Tracey Emin's bed. It is so interesting in reality and certainly no boring white canvas!

Can only do links...

BertieBotts · 04/02/2017 21:22

We don't have a landline because we don't need one for our internet here and we never really use them anyway. We have mobile phones at night, but would be a bit useless in a family emergency as we're not in the UK anyway.

CaraAspen · 04/02/2017 21:23

"Before I name change back, this was our room in a tiny rented Cornish cob cottage last summer (moved out due to an insurance claim)

It was gorgeous living so simply and I chucked so much stuff out once we moved back into our normal house. The walls and ceiling were all painted in Dulux timeless and it was very relaxing to be in. smile"

Mmmm. That is pretty.

firsttimemum15 · 04/02/2017 21:43

Oh i saw that Cara but didnt twig.

dogsdieinhotcars · 04/02/2017 22:38

Love it Christmas

Foxesarefriends · 05/02/2017 00:11

I was toying with that material for a blind but chickened out Christmas, it looks fab, designer guild?

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 05/02/2017 02:33

Cara,

Am a bit obsessed with stone fireplaces; 1600s originals sound right up my street...any pics for me to gaze at?

100% agree with your opinion re character/ imperfections...mismatched and quirky, with a story to tell, makes me happy Smile

This thread's fascinating, OP. Thanks to everyone who's including their pics...I'm getting all sorts of inspiration.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 05/02/2017 02:44

Wow, that's one amazing headboard, Christmas. Love your chair fabric and wall colour, too.

Having a bad few days.
I was really worried about little one yday as she's been very restless with constipation, but her voice sounded different to me and chest felt wheezy. Then she vomited, but couldn't get to docs as can't drive. Jag finished work early to take us, but turned out she was fine. He thinks I'm being overly cautious and paranoid and he had told me she was fine. I felt really stupid, but reassured doc had checked her out and she was ok.
Then we've spent weekend at his parents again and my folks visited which was lovely. There were other family here too and the whole day has been comprised o
being told what I'm doing wrong with feeding her - not enough milk, why not breast feeding, give her indian spice in her water even if midwife tells you not to. They've also been putting her down too soon after feeds. She needs to be upright at least 30 mins to digest milk properly as she spits out a lot. They know, but continue to do own thing and me reminding them is interfering. She almost choked at bedtime for that reason, but luckily I was there. By putting down they also forget to change her dirty nappy, even though they know it's done at each feed. She's been left in dirty nappy until I've asked. I'm not being awkward with them, but trying to keep her clean and healthy.
My Hb also feels I make him feel he's not doing good job, or right by her as I'm constantly watching and advising anyone that has her. I realise I might do this, but it's not deliberate. So I said I would stop and leave him or anyone to it which nearly killed me yday.
I tried to talk to him about everything I felt last night, but he was tired. I said I needed to share with someone otherwise I'd go crazy. It ended up with me being upset as usual and him angry at being paranoid, not understanding and making him feel stupid. I want the ground to suck me up and take me out! Help me see sense xx

I have a landline by the bed. I don't take a mobile up to bed (and we have poor mobile signal anyway) and if any of the children who aren't at home need me at any stage they call that number. It was useful when one was having a baby for example and at university one called quite a few times at night lost somewhere or having lost credit cards in taxis etc. However I accept in a few years probably none of us will have landlines and certainly not extensions for them all over the house as we still do.

Now the cushions are interseting on so many. In hotels I am always irritated by them and push them into high hotel cupboards thinking in real life no one would want pillows on the bed. What do you do with them and what do you do with them particularly whilst you sleep? I have never understood that.

I use them during the day when I'm having a rest or sitting on my bed reading and at night they're put on the sofa.

EnormousTiger · 05/02/2017 07:36

I suppose I just could not be bothered to be moving them off each night. I suspect this is also partly because when I was younger I had a dust allergy with some bed rooms so always tried to reduce pillows and anything that might have dust mites in it.

GinAndOnIt · 05/02/2017 07:54

I do like the look of cushions on the bed, but I'm starting to not bother anymore. I like the relaxed unmade bed look a lot more now.
