To wonder how far Trump will be allowed to go

before action is taken for the world's safety?

So far we've seen executive orders to increase nuclear defences, build the wall and stop all entry to the US from at least seven countries. Also executive orders winding female reproductive rights back several decades. There rumblings of restoring torture and various other things that aren't official yet.

Quite honestly this is part borne of my ignorance of how American constitution works but so far I'm really worried and wondering just quite how far he's going to be able to go before there are moves to stop him?

Before he was elected there was lots of 'don't worry he has to get through the house first' but he's done so much this week just because he wants to.

How much more?

I've solved 'The Wall' issue ..... The whole world club together and build the wall for Trump only it's built around the entire American border that way the Americans can be isolated and sealed in (like an Egyptian king) with their idiot president that THEY voted in and then they wont need to bother the rest of us normal civilised beings

Grin love it. Did anyone see the last leg where they crowdfunded bricks to build a wall to keep trump out of Canada?

Out2pasture "My experience of large industrial sites (oil and gas, aluminium, nuclear power) are that the people are well trained and safety is a huge priority. "

oh yes of course. I didn't for a minute mean that. I mean employee rights - sick pay, holiday pay - that type of thing.

Chippednailvarnishing · 26/01/2017 19:18

Good job those pesky Mexicans don't know about tunnels. Otherwise the wall would be nothing more than a big empty political statement that served no true purpose.

Phew.

DJBaggySmalls · 26/01/2017 19:20

Chippednailvarnishing Or boats, just think if they ever meet any Cubans thats $12 billion down the pan.

In your example, no you would probably survive with a few injuries. The modern nuclear weapons are smaller than the Cold War ones. Modern Russian nuclear weapons have less than a 10mile blast radius

Yay. Enough to take out the government etc and leave the rest to anarchy

I am a white male who is definitely not rich who does the majority of the house chores. My wife runs her own business.

We live "out in the woods" several hours from town in the NE USA.

Chippednailvarnishing · 26/01/2017 19:25

I doubt if the Cubans and Mexicans have the intelligence to over come the language barrier between them, what with Mexicans being murders and rapists.

Lorelei76 · 26/01/2017 19:26

thanks Eagle

Yeah I was close enough. Do you do the pregnancy too?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/01/2017 19:30

the wall is already built with only a few sections missing

I thought only about 700 miles of it were completed? (Out of a c.2000 mile border)

And even if they do get round to building the rest, I doubt Mexico will be billed directly ... much more likely to knock the cost of their colossal amount of aid

Elendon · 26/01/2017 19:31

Eagleisland There was in the 80s a very bad nuclear incident near Kiev. It was called the Chernobyl incident. Children born today within the fallout area, mostly Belarus, are at a high risk of developing cancer.

Within 10 miles you are toast. Within 50 miles your life is unbearable. But it does depend on whatever way the wind blows. Welsh lamb was off the radar for over a decade.

EagleIsland · 26/01/2017 19:33

We are TTC,

Out2pasture · 26/01/2017 19:34

All major companies that do large projects have excellent benefits, RioTinto Bechtel etc. Excellent jobs all around.

EagleIsland · 26/01/2017 19:35

Yes well aware of that, I am a Nuclear Physicist by trade. A nuclear weapon does not produce anything close to the amount of radiation that a reactor produces.

Lorelei76 · 26/01/2017 19:35

Elendon, I didn't know that about Welsh lamb.

Eagle, does the fact that a man with that attitude to women is in charge of the world worry you at all? I know lots of women aren't fussed either - just curious.

Elendon · 26/01/2017 19:36

So long as May continues to toady up to the man who would push the button, waterboard and think that torture works he can't keep his mouth shut, cancel health care for the poor, contraceptives for the poor overseas, build another Berlin type wall, ride roughshod over indigenous peoples sacred lands, all within a week, then Mrs May is no worse than he is.

Horrible and grim. What is she thinking?

helpimitchy · 26/01/2017 19:37

Can't the Mexicans just hop into a boat and make their way up the coast thus circumnavigating the wall?

Elendon · 26/01/2017 19:40

A nuclear weapon does not produce anything close to the amount of radiation that a reactor produces.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

Chippednailvarnishing · 26/01/2017 19:41

Oh my God. You'll be saying that Mexicans can swim next.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/01/2017 19:42

Can't the Mexicans just hop into a boat and make their way up the coast

They can try, but then they'll have the US Coastguard to cope with ... and since 9/11 the Coastguard have been brought under the military

midsomermurderess · 26/01/2017 19:42

I think Paul Ryan and a cadre of Republicans will take stock around the mid terms. It gives them 2 years to get a lot off the blocks, then if Trump is past bearing, after the mid terms, knife him. He has offered up a whole load of hostages to fortune and Americans will by then surely be tired of this incoherent megalomaniac and being the laughing stock of the world. The thing is, his replacement is Mike Pence.

Elendon · 26/01/2017 19:42

Can't the Mexicans hop on a small plane, helicopter, balloon?

Out2pasture · 26/01/2017 19:42

So 700/2000 is more than 1/3 already completed during someone else's presidency. Some areas involve rivers and will mean improved patrolling, again jobs.
In light of the uk's immigration, they will need to hire more people both on the boarder and within to simplify and improve citizens that are in limbo. It's all about jobs and work especially for young people.

helpimitchy · 26/01/2017 19:43

I've had a look on Google Earth and it's not really a goer is it? Blush
