before action is taken for the world's safety?

So far we've seen executive orders to increase nuclear defences, build the wall and stop all entry to the US from at least seven countries. Also executive orders winding female reproductive rights back several decades. There rumblings of restoring torture and various other things that aren't official yet.

Quite honestly this is part borne of my ignorance of how American constitution works but so far I'm really worried and wondering just quite how far he's going to be able to go before there are moves to stop him?

Before he was elected there was lots of 'don't worry he has to get through the house first' but he's done so much this week just because he wants to.

How much more?

He will go as far as the US constitution allows him to go.

He is making changes at the moment by signing executive orders. These are orders that do not have to be ratified by Congress, but they are not passed into law. They can therefore be immediately reversed by a subsequent President, also without the involvement of Congress. President Obama issued about 350 executive orders and it is these that Trump is over-riding.

Mexico will not pay for the wall as in paying a bill that the US government sends them. Instead the cost of the wall will be deducted from the aid that the US sends to Mexico each year.

Particularly concerning to me are:
Journalists covering protests being arrested and charged with felonies.
Government employees not being allowed to talk to different departments without going right up the chain of command and back down again.
Government employees not being allowed to talk to the media.
#Alternatefacts from people like Sean Spicer and Kellyanne Conway being swallowed whole and unchallenged by the mainstream media.

Trump wants to relax the laws on libel so that he can sue publications that criticize him. If the media is muzzled we will have no idea what is really going on.

Fortunately the ACLU and similar organizations are watching Trump and are poised to launch lawsuits if he infringes the constitution. However with his Supreme Court nominations he has control over how the constitution is interpreted.

Common sense would say the rest of the world could boycott the USA, ban exports and imports, and insist they repay their national debt.

But this is what I think;
There is a right wing conspiracy being played out. A coup.
Every single thing that has happened so far on the world stage has been planned and agreed between the parties involved.
The most recent events include intelligence agencies watching what we all say and do online, and sharing that information between them. Thats all of us under surveillance, not just spies and terrorists.

In recent months before the elections, not just on this forum, there have been several accounts that are very pro Intelligence agencies. Which was odd. As were many of their posts.
We are being monitored. I am not confident about the future.

Yes, I was aware of that, but just wanted to make sure that's what was meant. A bit surprised, that's all, that anyone should "hope" for a democratically elected President - whatever we all think of him - to be assassinated

I have lived through rationing, it ended in 1954, the Cold War, The Troubles, Plane Hijackings, Three day weeks, Strikes, Terrorist attacks yet nothing has scared me more than the election Trump as POTUS.
I have always felt that the biggest threat to world peace is the USA but that threat was tempered with common sense.
Common sense seems to have been thrown out with the bath water.

I go through moments of feeling like I'm living in a very dark black comedy, and feeling terribly afraid. The worst thing (for me) is that my brother might end up in a US prison while Trump is President - pretty much no chance of him cancelling the extradition and with his torture-happy mind who knows what kind of things will be allowed at prison.
