Inspired by the other thread ....

Who is brave enough to take the challenge? Who dishes out crisps and penguins?

No judging just out of interest to see what the DC if mners really eat!

Obviously too late today for most, but tomorrow?

cheese/ham/tuna sandwich
yoghurt pouch

nothanksbyenow · 26/01/2017 09:40

Ooh I missed the other thread, was it a good 'un?
You can have my today's contents- I do 2 packed lunches a week, yesterday's was a lot healthier but here goes:
Sandwiches- cream cheese and a thin scrap of jam
Banana
Smoothie
Soreen banana loaf
Youghurt in a pouch.

I know it's a bit high in sugar but my way is to do healthy Wednesday lunch, 'relaxed' Thursday. Works for me!

ProseccoandPizza · 26/01/2017 09:40

wifeyhun · 26/01/2017 09:43

I will take a pic tonight but dd had a Nutella sandwich Shock, a frube, some monster munch Shock, and a satsuma. She had a bottle of water in there as well.

blibblibs · 26/01/2017 09:43

Too late for a photo today but DC take the same thing everyday. Cheese & jam sandwich on white bread, 5 Ritz crackers, small youghurt and a piece of fruit. And water is all they're allowed to drink at school. Other DC has the same apart from the sandwich which is replaced with a buttered roll & a cheese string Shock . Not great, not bad and they finish school at 2.30 so have a snack then aswell.

HandsomeDevil · 26/01/2017 09:43

DC1, 9, has:
Small granary roll with cheddar cheese
two mini scotch eggs
pot of carrot sticks
a sugar-free jelly
pot of grapes
apple
flask of squash - sugar free, but with all the evil sweetners

jasonapple · 26/01/2017 09:44

ds's blazer pocket is generally full of sweet, biscuit and crisp wrappers.

Anjelika · 26/01/2017 09:44

My DS (9) went in with a cinnamon and raisin bagel toasted and spread with Philadelphia; some cherry tomatoes and chopped cucumber and a jelly with mandarin pieces in.

ghostyslovesheets · 26/01/2017 09:44

No pics but today it was:
Cheese butty
Frube
Apple juice
Pufts
Apple
Penguin

FlouncingInAWinterWonderland · 26/01/2017 09:45

DS2 today had a ham surprise which is a sort of homemade pasty using homemade enriched bread dough and it's rolled out into an oval and folded over lots of chopped up ham. He has a bottle of water a digestive snack bar and a fruit string.

He eats the digestive and fruit string about once a week.

I gave up on fruit because he has it at breakfast and after school. I tried chopping it up into little fruit salads and all sorts. It was being binned every day. He just eats his bread based thing (or I get annoyed, it's the agreed you must eat something minimum) and wants to get out to football.

He has money to buy a hot dinner if he feels hungry and money for snacks (milk/fruit/toast) at break. He has them about once a week too.

He's yr 6, age 10

JennyOnAPlate · 26/01/2017 09:46

Today dd1 has a cheese sandwich, some carrot batons and a little pot of hummus, a frube and a plum.

I tend to put a treat in on Fridays (small cake or penguin type biscuit)

Iambubbles86 · 26/01/2017 09:46

D's age 6

1 slice white bread with real butter and cheese
1 large pack of raisins
1 inch chunk of cucumber (the full circle size)
Strawberry custard pot
Bottle of water
Ready salted crisps

Meandyouandyouandme · 26/01/2017 09:46

Pitta bread with tuna mayo and cucumber, small bag of grapes, small pot of almonds, bag of mini Maryland cookies, for DD2, she's 16.

rightsofwomen · 26/01/2017 09:47

My DS2 rarely has packed lunch but did yesterday.

It was ham sandwich on brown bread - he didn't touch it.
Crisps (Chip sticks) - ate
One of those fruit lace things - ate
Carrot battons - ate
Olives - ate
Grapes - ate

If it was a more regular thing I'd get him bread that he liked or do him a wrap but it was short notice.

Jellybean83 · 26/01/2017 09:47

No picture but today's packed lunch for DS (7) was

Wholemeal roll with butter, ham and cucumber
Little pot of grapes
Little pot of carrot sticks and mini sausages(3)
Strawberry frube
Fruit and oat cookie
Water to drink

That's pretty much typical of his packed lunch, I'll change the fruit around so it'll sometimes be strawberries or little tangerine segments. Sometimes he'll have a crunch corner instead of frube, I'll always omit his cookie or flapjack treat when he has that. And I'll switch between little sausages and cut up chicken cubes.

whifflesqueak · 26/01/2017 09:47

he's 2 and a half and this morning went to nursery with

a mini bagel with cream cheese, ham and tomato (the tomato will doubtless be discarded)
a few cheese cubes
a yoghurt

yesterday was much the same but I gave him a kiwi to ignore instead of cheese cubes.

he's a bit fussy. it's a bore.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 26/01/2017 09:47

My 4yo has gone in today with:

Ham sandwich (1x slice seeded bread)
Cherry tomatoes
Satsuma
4x crackers
Frube
Cheesestring
Small box raisins
2x chocolate coins

She won't eat it all - whatever she doesn't have she'll have as a snack after school. She has very very weak squash in her cup, and when that's gone she'll switch to water.
