Wedding menu - help me decide!

I have to choose my wedding menu and I'm struggling- please help! We have had a tasting and narrowed it down to three options for each. Veggie already decided.

Starters
Pumpkin and butternut squash soup with a Stilton biscuit
Smoked salmon on rye bred
Duck terrine

Main
Duck breast with duck leg confit
Sea bass
Lamb cutlets

Dessert
Chocolate mousse
Clementine cheesecake
Cheese board

DP says he doesn't mind and my head is going round in circles so I think whatever appeals to most people is best. We aren't having children at the wedding and it's a mix of people our age (30s) and a few elderly relatives too.

All I would eat is the cheesecake but I'm a fussy bugger.
If I was attending, I'd have to pick the soup minus the Stilton biscuit and the duck.

FauxFox · 13/01/2017 20:16

Soup
Duck
Cheesecake

yikesanotherbooboo · 13/01/2017 20:16

Smoked salmon ...festive
Lamb cutlets... substantial and can't be spoiled
Chocolate mousse... no explanation required !

NuffSaidSam · 13/01/2017 20:17

Pumpkin and butternut squash soup with a Stilton biscuit
Sea bass
Chocolate mousse

That would be my choice.

I think the lamb might be more popular than the sea bass though.

icelollycraving · 13/01/2017 20:17

I wouldn't have soup. If I was choosing I'd have either duck, sea bass & chocolate or salmon, duck & chocolate. I think offering a cheese board is nice but not in place of pudding. Clementine cheesecake sounds quite 70s.

FrankAndBeans · 13/01/2017 20:17

Also it depends on season and setting. If you're in a marquee in summer compared to a barn in winter!

ChubRub · 13/01/2017 20:17

Duck
Lamb
Cheesecake

peroxidebrown · 13/01/2017 20:17

Going to make a very geeky tally chart...

sooperdooper · 13/01/2017 20:17

I'd pick the duck terrine, lamb cutlets & cheesecake :)

What is the veggie option for the main?

Loubymoo27 · 13/01/2017 20:17

Soup
Duck
Either cheesecake or mouse x

icelollycraving · 13/01/2017 20:18

We have been no help!!

Jellybean83 · 13/01/2017 20:18

Soup
Duck
Cheese board but I'd be more than happy with the other two choices also.

peroxidebrown · 13/01/2017 20:18

It's in a fancy ish hotel in a city in March to give context.

OP posts:
Rattusn · 13/01/2017 20:18

Of those: starter: soup
Main: I'm unsure
Desert: cheesecake (but check if this is veggie)

MyBreadIsEggy · 13/01/2017 20:18

Salmon
Lamb
Cheesecake

Callipygian00 · 13/01/2017 20:19

Soup
Lamb
Chocolate Mousse

BumpGoesBumpety · 13/01/2017 20:19

Duck, lamb & cheese. But go with whatever you like to eat - you can never please everyone so you might as well enjoy the most expensive meal you'll probably ever pay for 😀

Sciurus83 · 13/01/2017 20:19

Soup, Bass, Cheesecake would be my choice

Eebahgum · 13/01/2017 20:20

Soup, lamb, cheesecake.

BarbedBloom · 13/01/2017 20:20

Duck terrine, lamb and chocolate mousse. But I would eat any combination there except the sea bass.

MeganChips · 13/01/2017 20:20

Smoked salmon
Duck
Cheese board

morningafterglow · 13/01/2017 20:20

Starters and desserts are fine but if you are genuine about wanting something that appeals to most people then I really think your main choices are wrong. Duck, sea bass or lamb? Maybe go for beef or chicken Smile

FrankAndBeans · 13/01/2017 20:21

Yes, I'd prefer a beef or chicken 'safe' option. As it is I'd probably go for the veggie option.

Leanin15yearsmaybe · 13/01/2017 20:21

All of them! Nothing there I wouldn't eat, all sound lovely. I'm no help at all! .....so hungry now....

FeckinCrutches · 13/01/2017 20:22

Rattusn how can a cheesecake not be veggie?? I've had a drink so may. E missing something Grin
