Wedding menu - help me decide!

I have to choose my wedding menu and I'm struggling- please help! We have had a tasting and narrowed it down to three options for each. Veggie already decided.

Starters
Pumpkin and butternut squash soup with a Stilton biscuit
Smoked salmon on rye bred
Duck terrine

Main
Duck breast with duck leg confit
Sea bass
Lamb cutlets

Dessert
Chocolate mousse
Clementine cheesecake
Cheese board

DP says he doesn't mind and my head is going round in circles so I think whatever appeals to most people is best. We aren't having children at the wedding and it's a mix of people our age (30s) and a few elderly relatives too.

Your OP stated " I think whatever appeals to most people is best" but your choices don't support that

As a self confessed fussy eater, I don't you think you are a good judge of what most people eat. IME, most people eat a full range of food easily including salmon, fish, lamb and duck.
You don't, but most adults are not fussy.

HandbagCrab · 14/01/2017 21:58

We had choices at our wedding. Most people picked tomato soup then chicken to a point where we shouldn't have bothered with choices other than veggie. It's what people want to eat/ feel comfortable eating at an event when they don't know the quality of the catering.

Soup
Cutlets
Mousse

Notso · 14/01/2017 22:35

Soup
Lamb
Mousse

Not what I'd pick in a restaurant but for safe mass catering.

I'd eat all the options, as would most people I know. It looks lovely. I also eat chicken happily but would prefer the other things, especially mass catered. I would order food that brings you joy. If a guest is fussy, they can eat afterwards - and will probably be used to that sort of situation.

I would probably pick the smoked salmon, sea bass and mousse if pushed!

Soup
Sea,bass
Chocolate mouse

Soup is just going to end up down shirts/ties/dresses. Salmon more flexible (could
Just eat rye bread)

Duck very hard to cook for crowds; lamb better.

dontdoitatall · 14/01/2017 23:18

Soup
Sea bass
Choc mousse

Butterymuffin · 14/01/2017 23:23

Salmon
Lamb
Chocolate mousse

I wouldnt like any of those main course options tbh. Don't forget quite a lot of people don't like fish. Duck and lamb hard to get right. Chicken is usually a safe bet.

Soup starter and either chocolate or cheesecake dessert - cheese board is a bit heavy after a big meal, with coffee and wedding cake to come.

What's with all the posts about spilled soup? Can none of you eat soup without wearing it all down your front?

CocktailQueen · 14/01/2017 23:30

Smoked salmon
Duck
Cheese

LoupGarou · 14/01/2017 23:32
