To think I got 'spiked'

I did what you're not supposed to do.

I picked up an abandoned glass of fizz, and I drank it as I'm flat broke after Christmas, had a Diet Coke at the pub but wanted a fizz and couldn't afford to buy my own Xmas Blush it was just sitting there at the bar. Already had a few glasses of wine at home with a meal then popped into our local to see some friends at about 11:30. DP had to carry me home, (his poor back!) I can't remember a thing and apparently was pretty much unconscious and when I did wake up a bit, totally incoherent- I couldn't form any words. He said he had to move all my limbs like a puppet to get me on my side in bed then didn't want to leave me alone so just played on iPad most of the night.

I feel appalling now. Shaky and sick and a racing heart and I've drank loads of water but can't seem to wee Xmas Blush

It was the local bit-up-it's-Arse-gastro-pub and I know 'mine-sweeping' a drink is a bit student and scummy and I shouldn't have done it, but I'm starting to think it must have been laced with something and whoever it was bought for thought better of it and left it alone. Total memory blackout from about half an hour after I drank it, and before that I was ever so slightly tipsy but holding a conversation and dancing. Only wanted to stick my head in to see in the New Year.

I'm so stupid aren't I Xmas Blush Xmas Blush

She knows the decision was poor:
Her initial post began with "I did something you're not supposed to do" and ended with "I'm so stupid aren't I?" and was littered in between with an obvious understanding of her poor decision making.

And pretty much every other post she made reaffirmed that she knew she'd done a stupid thing. And felt silly. SHE GETS IT.

OP sounded worried and anxious. She did not need posters making her feel worse.
Constructive advice is what she needed, not to be continually chastised about doing something she freely admitted (several bloody times) was stupid.

Fuck me.

I was referring to the posters who were just having a pop at her. Not the ones who were giving helpful advice. They were great.

There were a lot of posters who I felt were unnecessarily curt and unsympathetic to a woman who had had a hard time.

Your parting shot is unnecessarily rude.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 01/01/2017 21:06

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

KeepItToYourselfPlease · 01/01/2017 21:20

Of course, I'm happy to agree to disagree on the initial discussion, but no, not happy with the 'fuck you indeed'.

As you well know my "fuck me" was meant as an eye roll and not aimed towards any one person in particular.

Your final line was just offensive.

Happy New Year!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 01/01/2017 21:34

Happy New Year to you tooSmile.

angeldelightedme · 01/01/2017 22:11

Quite apart from the dangers of drinking something you don't know what it is, it is just so skanky to drink a stranger s dregs.why would you want to share their saliva.unless you are a tramp or an alcoholic, it makes me think you were much .ore intoxicated than you thought before you even drank it

SoupDragon · 02/01/2017 08:27

She wasn't continually chastised either.

PMSL. She's STILL being chastised!

SecondsLeft · 02/01/2017 08:37

So sorry this happened to you. Hope you feel better soon and do get checked out or seek advice. No blame here, this could happen to any of our teenage or adult children, sisters or brothers :(

Soubriquet · 02/01/2017 10:08

How are you feeling today OP?

SoupDragon · 02/01/2017 10:10

Christ, MN is full of idiots lately.

Yeah, like the ones who don't read a thread fully or even skim to see the OPs responses and just post the same over and over again. hence the "cancel the cheque" comment I imagine.

crashdoll · 02/01/2017 10:31

Elledouble · 02/01/2017 10:51

Serialweightwatcher · 02/01/2017 17:38

So glad you're okay - we've all done silly things and you won't be doing it again I'm sure ..... just very lucky because things could have been much worse Flowers

Raineau · 02/01/2017 17:38

Might be a good idea to report this.
I would say you left your drink on the side and then picked it up some time after and that's when you believe something was in it.

I hope you are starting to feel better now. No more drinking left over drinks. Don't beat yourself up over it, you are lucky you had someone to look after you.
X

UnbornMortificadoAtChristmas · 02/01/2017 17:43

Pleased your ok Mad.

You bloody daft cow. I've done worse so I'm not one to judge.

aaahhhBump · 02/01/2017 17:43

Glad you're feeling better today. Please report the incident, even anon to crime stoppers. There was a late night pub in our town where this had occurred and it ended very tragically.

nicegirl73 · 02/01/2017 17:46

I had a drink spiked once and that was exactly how I was...no memory whatsoever and couldn't walk. Luckily I was non stop throwing up so was surrounded by bouncers and random helpful people who made sure I got home safe...
