What is so wrong with Hillary?

I know I know, not another one of these threads but I'm struggling to understand why everyone hates her so much.

I know she has been accused of corruption but nothing has stuck and it doesn't seem to be any worse than her male counterparts- is it because she's a woman?

AIBU to ask you to point me to some facts as to what she has done to be so hated? I'm genuinely interested.

SpareASquare, that was the biggest issue with Obamacare - the original vision got so grotesquely watered down that the eventual legislation was almost a license for the insurance industry to print money for itself.

star

Oh for goodness sake...seriously Smile

RoseGoldHippie · 10/11/2016 22:04

Oh. and please. Michelle Obama will never be the first female president, as she's not even a woman. Joan Rivers knew. Look what happened to her!

What?

Even if there was any truth to that at all - why in the fuck would Joan Rivers be the only person to know? Or am i missing something here?

Oswin · 10/11/2016 22:04

Star you are joking aren't you? Please be joking Grin

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 10/11/2016 22:07

Its the "educate yourself" following by the Michelle Obama comment that gets me Grin

StarUtopia · 10/11/2016 22:27

Rose Joan Rivers wasn't the only person to know, she let it slip and 'conveniently' was bumped off accordingly.

Nothing wrong with being transgender, and Obama being gay.

Have a google! Grin

Far more interesting google search in any case :D

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 10/11/2016 22:29

I did have a google

I have a feeling Joan was joking though

Although it wasn't very funny...she was much better when she was taking the piss out of herself

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 10/11/2016 22:32

I was thinking about her being compared to Cherie Blair

She was never liked no one can really give a reason (very intelligent, successful in her own career, ambitious). Yet we can say the same for Michelle Obama and she is loved by so many in a way Hillary has never been

Of course being a woman she has to prove herself more and to many she will never be good enough but there seems to be something about some people that the public do not warm to whatever they do

I am puzzled by people voting for Trump maybe personality doesn't matter so much if you are a man, if Hillary had behaved in the atrocious way he has she would have been called an hysterical witch

StarUtopia · 10/11/2016 22:36

Makes sense. Obama fighting for transgenders to have their own restrooms..think about it!

I think it is incredibly plausible.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 10/11/2016 22:40

oh please stop being so stupid

Joan Rivers took the piss out of everyone no one was off limits

I am not looking at any videos there has been terrible things that are absolutely shameful said about Michelle Obama

RoseGoldHippie · 10/11/2016 23:07

I'm pretty sure jus the way Joan Rivers conducted herself would make her the last person Michelle Obama would confide in that she was secretly a man.

Of course she isn't! No I'm not educating myself on stupid theories. Anyone can write a Wikipedia page you know!

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 10/11/2016 23:23

Right Star Hmm
This thread has hit rock bottom I think hopefully

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 10/11/2016 23:25

Well this has all got very strange....

LondonPainter · 11/11/2016 00:01

All those comparing her to Cherie Blair, are you really saying that you'd vote for Trump over Cherie?!

We are witnessing misogyny on a frightening scale.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 11/11/2016 00:15

absolutely not

I would have voted for Hillary if I lived in the states she is by far the more competent, is extremely intelligent I do not understand why she is disliked (but ask my family in the states who voted for her have all said they do not like her). Cherie too is an extremely intelligent hard working ambitious and successful. Both have always been unpopular misogyny plays a part but then Michelle Obama is loved by many in a way Hillary Clinton never has been

I was pointing out for some reason the public have never warmed to either of these women (HC & CB) and of course woman have to prove themselves more

klassy · 11/11/2016 00:17

For the most part, this thread has been really helpful and insightful, especially the financial insight into everyday American lives. Thank you.

PresidentDonaldTrump · 11/11/2016 00:19

Hillary and her followers are nutters that's what's wrong with her. Thank God more voted for me.

IPityThePontipines · 11/11/2016 00:26

This thread indeed.

MN has changed and not for the better.

OlennasWimple · 11/11/2016 01:28

Oh FFS drop the racist shit about Michelle being a secret man (see also Venus Williams, Serena Williams) Angry

I think Cherie Blair is only used as a comparator as she's the closest we have in the UK to a high profile woman married to a former head of state who the public never ever warmed to, and frankly never will.

SpareASquare · 11/11/2016 03:37

Hillary and her followers are nutters that's what's wrong with her. Thank God more voted for me

Ah, but they didn't, did they?

It's a pretty fucked up system if the person with the most votes doesn't actually win don't ya think?

Pluto30 · 11/11/2016 04:17

Spare No. No one complains when it goes their way. The electoral college is a good system and it's in place for a reason.

SpareASquare · 11/11/2016 04:35

Spare No. No one complains when it goes their way. The electoral college is a good system and it's in place for a reason

It really isn't. Even DT has been critical of it. It is archaic and there are many, many more reasons to rethink it than not.

But that wasn't really the point, which is that Donald Trump did NOT receive the most votes as I think is being perceived. Sure, doesn't matter in the end with that kind of system in place but there has to be hope that more people than not will stand up for those he and his policies will try and crush.

Pluto30 · 11/11/2016 04:40

What's that got to do with the price of Tia Maria? Most people know she won the popular vote (by a negligible margin, and if it were a popular vote election, it would be sent to a recount), but that's not the way it works in the US.

Sure, people can rant and rave about whatever they like, but methinks people will've moved on to something else that they can be professionally offended about by the end of next week. Such is the nature with the left.

SpareASquare · 11/11/2016 07:12

I know exactly how it works in the US Grin

I'm not sure if you are being obtuse on purpose. lol

What it has to do with anything (and I was responding to the idea that more people voted for DT) is that surely it must somewhat of a comfort that most people voted against racism, sexism, xenophobia etc than for. There are some things that can and should never be 'moved on from' but I truly don't think it will be as easy to do some of the things he's said he'll do.
