Southall, thank you for the continuing entertainment. I look forward to reading the rest of your posts.

Southallgirl · 10/11/2016 12:00

It is Gin herself plumbing "the depths of hate speech". What an ironic post from you!!! Lol.

RoseGoldHippie · 10/11/2016 12:01

Today 11:57 Southallgirl

but if you've been out of work for a few years, surrounded by rusting dereliction, what else can you do?

Ever heard ofJohnstown, Penn? Get a retrospective education and look it up. You must have spent 8 Nov in a cave. And to put people down from such struggling communities is done only by arseholes.

Sorry, but are you the same person who originally posted the point you are now arguing with?

Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 12:01

Thanks south fucking awful.

However I do genuinely not understand how you can fail to see Trump's propaganda of hate, I would have thought you'd be especially concerned about anything remotely fascist and bigoted that 'others' and scapegoats people based on their race or political affiliation. I find it shocking that you didn't know that Hitler had his own party (NSDAP) which from the beginning had a nationalistic manifesto and has absolutely nothing to do with Labour.... why did you draw that comparison south it's so offensive. The only party remotely similar is UKIP.

HairyToity · 10/11/2016 12:03

I've calmed down from my original dismay. He's only got 2 years to cause maximum damage. Then, as he's not capable of making a success of things, there will be a democratic house, to help stop the worse. Then in four years time he'll be gone. He's a one term president.

Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 12:03

Yes bored "displaying the worst face of mumsnet the ignorance by Leave voters and or trump supporters is the worst face of MN* i do entirely agree.

BoredofBrexit · 10/11/2016 12:06

Pizza thats nice dear.

LittleLionMansMummy · 10/11/2016 12:08

I was wondering that Rose. Genuinely Confused

GinAndTunic · 10/11/2016 12:10

Southall, regrettably I must go out and run errands. I do hope to see more posts by you when I get back as I shall be sitting down with a cup of tea and always enjoy a bit of entertainment with my beverage.

Southallgirl · 10/11/2016 12:15

I do genuinely not understand how you can fail to see Trump's propaganda of hate,

Thea - His propaganda of hate is mostly for the stage,it's theatrics. Not being part of the political elite I'm suggesting he chose to be OTT in order to be heard. He was bringing out, in a crude fashion, the ills in America that political correctness does not allow to be spoken of.

But what is really dangerous are those politicians who say all the right things, are inclusive, belong to the "good" party but involve USA in proxy wars. Some believed that Mrs Clinton is one of those.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 10/11/2016 12:17

People who get into power on simplistic populist platforms like Trump are doomed to failure. They quickly reach a point where they can't meet expectations and have run out of victims to scapegoat, and their supporters turn on them.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 10/11/2016 12:18

Southallgirl, are you going to continue refusing to acknowledge that your statement about the NSDAP was completely wrong?

Southallgirl · 10/11/2016 12:20

People who get into power on simplistic populist platforms like Trump are doomed to failure

Then he fails. So what's all the hoo-ha and shock about? Totally unnecessary and childish.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 10/11/2016 12:21

BTW, it's 'bored with, not 'of' things.

roundaboutthetown · 10/11/2016 12:25

The hoo ha is down to the fact that if the US weakens itself with its electoral mistakes, the rest of the world is affected. The rest of the world thinks the US has gambled on a reckless and dangerous gambler who has proven himself untalented at running casinos.

sportinguista · 10/11/2016 12:26

So I'm getting this right, this is a thread purely so people can wail, gnash their teeth, say how terrible it all is, that WW3 is going to happen, that Hilter has risen again, that it's all so very terrible and what're we gonna do, cos it's all so terrible and...

That's it...

I'm not keen on Trump, wasn't keen on Hillary either, for different reasons. I don't vote in the states because I'm not American, so not my choice to make.

I'm however not going spend a lot of time wailing though, it takes up too much energy. So, I'm sat working as usual.

Southallgirl · 10/11/2016 12:26

RoseGoldHippie I have always supported the result of a democratic vote, so I do not know what you mean. It's the people on this thread who are beating their fists against the wall because they do not like it. I don't understand the wailing & gnashing of teeth ....... if he doesnt come up with the goods, then he's out in 4 yrs time.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 10/11/2016 12:27

As always, when posters say 'let me get this straight' about an argument on a thread, you're wrong, Sporting.

Southallgirl · 10/11/2016 12:30

Roundabout I understand, but there are many advisers in place, who have served several presidents. Decisions will not be pure Trump, they will always be an amalgam.

roundaboutthetown · 10/11/2016 12:35

sportinguista - on the basis you can't actually stop WW3 or tell Americans what to do, you might as well carry on working while you've still got a job, food and a home. Carrying on as normal doesn't mean your future is not affected by it all, though.

Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 12:36

South I don't entirely disagree with your post from Thu 10-Nov-16 12:15:00 I have to say. But it is our responsibility as responsible citizens to try and be in possession of the facts and see through populist rhetoric. Stating that Labour = NSDAP, aka hitler's party does no good at all and plays down what Hitler's party did. As I said in terms of nationalist ideology the closest British party to Hitler's NSDAP is UKIP but they are of course not the same. I believe it is important that you acknowledge your mistake.

"Pizza thats nice dear." not really nice, no.

Godstopper · 10/11/2016 12:36

I don't think it's "childish" to be deeply worried that the U.S has seen fit to elect a misogynistic, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, disabilist, Islamophobic, tax evading climate change denier to the White House. Alarm seems a perfectly rational reaction. But that hardly means one doesn't support the democratic process.

WrongTrouser · 10/11/2016 12:38

It's a shame how this thread has deteriorated (I gave up reading on p39 as it just seems to have descended into point scoring) as I thought there were some really fantastic posts earlier on, and an intelligent exchange of views and thoughtful explorations of the USA election including whether there are similarities (either for the vote or the reaction to the vote) to Brexit.

sportinguista · 10/11/2016 12:38

No but I just sit, read, make my own mind up about things and don't wail or gnash, so I don't waste too much time either!

I don't mind being wrong but am I wrong not to wail?

Didn't say I supported Trump, didn't say I liked ol Hills either.
