so so so depressing

Flowerfae · 09/11/2016 07:06

I don't know what his vice is like but anything has to be better then him, I think that he will probably be assassinated, just don't know how much damage will be done before he is.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 09/11/2016 07:07

I'm not shocked, tbh. The Democrats should never have forced Clinton on a public that had very little faith in her. Two fucking awful candidates, one of whom had to win. I agree with what user said about disenfranchised Americans and poverty. I loathe, loathe, loathe the man - but my opinion of Hilary was only a fraction higher.

KirstyinNorway · 09/11/2016 07:09

I am totally shocked. I really thought Hilary would pull it out the bag at the last minute - my guess was a 60/40 split for blue. Horrifying.

maddiemookins16mum · 09/11/2016 07:10

Clinton's supporters have all left their HQ.

Trump has won 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
BipBippadotta · 09/11/2016 07:10

The thing that's telling you not to worry, User is denial. Universal healthcare will be gone in a heartbeat. His election will give people the sense they have permission to say and do whatever they like to women and minorities. It's just shocking.

HumphreyCobblers · 09/11/2016 07:10

"For him to win, that means some women must have voted for him. How depressing."

I heard a woman on the radio saying that she didn't agree with Trump but she would vote for him because she 'didn't believe a woman was fit for high office' Hmm

Pisssssedofff · 09/11/2016 07:10

Feels like some sort of joke. However on the other hand this along with brexit might give the powers that be a kick to realise what can happen if they don't get their acts together.

jelly10 · 09/11/2016 07:10

It's awful, and I can't believe this is happening. But we have to ask why people have voted this way - blaming people won't change anything for the future, America needs to understand why so many people think such a horrible person with such hateful ideas is the best person to make their lives better. And other countries need to do the same, as there are signs of similar things across Europe.

Flowerfae · 09/11/2016 07:11

Just been talking to DH he's said that congress will step in and stop him doing things like building a wall, starting a nuclear war. All these presidents and politicians in the UK make all these (idiotic in Trumps case) choices but when they are actually in they are not allowed to put them into action.
Hope this is the case.

blitheringbuzzards1234 · 09/11/2016 07:12

Yes, it is bloody depressing, isn't it? Worse than depressing, actually. When times are hard people apparently become more reactionary/right wing. That's how that nutcase megalomaniac Hitler came to power in the thirties. As that Chinese curse goes 'we live in interesting times.'

Despite all, we must try to remain optimistic in the basic goodness of mankind though I appreciate it's damned difficult in the face of this.
Let's also remember that the job of US president is the most dangerous in the world and someone like Trump ... need I say more?

roundaboutthetown · 09/11/2016 07:12

This victory and Brexit are all part of the same thing - angry people wanting to pull away from the rest of the world and mistakenly thinking this will make their country more competitive, rather than bring the possibility of world war closer as all countries become more xenophobic and competitive. Anyone want to bet Putin is going to try it on in the Baltic States, now?

WooWooChooChoo · 09/11/2016 07:12

I really thought there was no chance he would win. Scary times.

Flowerfae · 09/11/2016 07:13

promises not choices sorry

RobinBanksisInnocent · 09/11/2016 07:13

Saw this on facebook this morning. Sums it up nicely. A genuinely terrifying outcome.

Trump has won 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Ginmakesitallok · 09/11/2016 07:13
Sad
Flowerfae · 09/11/2016 07:14

Putin will probably try it on with the Baltic States and more, he wanted Trump in because he knows Trump is an idiot.

KirstyinNorway · 09/11/2016 07:14

flower I said exactly that to DH this morning, his response was: "the kind of people that assassinate presidents are the kind of people that vote for Trump". I hate to admit that he might have a point.

Disclaimer: not saying all Trump supporters are assassins (Grin) - I know lots of people didn't see Hilary as a viable option and ended up voting for Trump by proxy - my point is that he supports gun fanatics, and the "crazies" that would shoot a person are more likely to vote red in this election.

RebelandaStunner · 09/11/2016 07:14

Ffs. The world is going backwards.

Marilynsbigsister · 09/11/2016 07:14

Wasn't Hitler democratically elected ?

Asteptoofarforme · 09/11/2016 07:15

I am not that surprised. Had a horrible feeling he would do it. Don't think we quite realise over here just how disliked Hillary is.

Let's hope he's mainly all talk and no trousers.

shovetheholly · 09/11/2016 07:15

The thing to be concerned about here is not what Trump will do, but what ignorant arseholes 50â„… of people are. Same with Brexit. That level of hate doesn't just go away because you change the person at the top.

BakeOffBiscuits · 09/11/2016 07:16

I too think if he does try to build a wall etc, he won't last long.....

There are a lot of guns in America.

LittleCandle · 09/11/2016 07:16

I had the night from hell (pre-interview nightmares and agonising pain from problem ankle) and I woke up to this. Its beyond horrific. I wish it was another nightmare, because then I could wake up properly.

Flowerfae · 09/11/2016 07:18

KirstyinNorway. True :) but someone has already attempted it, last week I think. There will be a lot of angry people in the US who will probably have another go.
