I'm not politically minded, so please set me straight if I'm being ignorant.

I'm shocked at the turn of events but I'm not really surprised iykwim.

I have long thought that the British media are liars and in particular BBC, all I have seen on the reported goings on is a bumbling, ineffective, sexist man who has no political experience whatsoever and I could not believe that any person would seriously vote for him. Then we were shown snippets of chats with his supporters who came across as not very bright and couldn't answer most questions put to them. I couldn't understand then how he was managing to garner so many people at his gatherings. I started to think that he is saying something that is resonating with the people that I'm not getting to hear as there is no way on gods earth anyone with any sense will vote for this man but he has support and all poor Hilary did was have a different server for emails, which investigated twice, showed no offences committed. Now surely she is the lesser of two evils?

He won!! How? What has he said to the people to make this happen and it's not an insignificant margin. What has he said that has resonated with the people for this to happen?

There is a massive bible belt in America, which contains women who are as anti women as any man. There are some of them who believe that a woman should not hold high office. They will repeat what their husbands say. There are also black and Hispanic voters who are just as anti immigration as the white working class middle America. He's got people to vote for him who feel disenfranchised. There are many Hispanics who cannot vote. The US born bible belters can vote, but they may not have until now. I did some work in an International school in London, with a few young Americans. They wanted Bernie Saunders. They were going to write 'Saunders' on the ballot paper. They would have all contributed to a Trump victory.

But he's pretty unlikely to do half the stuff he has said - the wall, for instance - so his supporters have a bit of a tough time ahead of them as their expectations are not met.

I do wonder if he'll make it to the end of his whole term of office, not because of death threats but because he'll realise he will look an idiot when he can't do what he said.
