To drink wine in the park?

We've walked two miles to the good park. We stopped at the shop to buy the essentials (milk, water and wine). I have cups with me so the kids can have a drink. They've been in the park for an hour and we have another hour to go before DH picks us up.

Just how bad would it be to pour myself a glass of vino? I am bored shitless. Will everybody judge me and will I be an awful parent?

If it matters, the wine is still nice and cold. Although the plastic cup may mar the taste somewhat. I'm sitting outside the actual play park with the dog.

AIBU? Would you?

You are right, FlapsTie. I know. Smile

Well done Flaps! I am also sorry that I was one of the "yay sayers"'earlier on in the thread. I didn't think for a moment that the situation was more than it seems. I should have done having stared alcohol dependancy in the face many times.

I applaud you for your honesty and I am rooting for you here from a distance.

I'm really sorry that I posted in such a lighthearted manner to start with. I think I was just testing the water, I was fully aware of how inappropriate it was and just wanted to see if other people did it.

I've done a straw poll among some friends wrt to the 'test' I got 32 on. Most people scored well under ten. It's been very sobering (pun well intended). I really had been deluding myself that everyone drinks like me. Not helped by all the 'wine o clock' 'time for gin' bollocks that pervades.

Just wanted to say good luck. You can do it. You've had some lovely support and advice on here and I hope it helps you. Your husband sounds fantastic BTW Grin

I just did that audit and answered as honestly as I could. Score was 7. But I feel like I drink too much Confused. Anyway, this isn't about me! You know you can do it Flappy Brew - charity shops always a great place for big old jigsaws.

I see you can't drive now and perhaps feel a bit cut off? Would cycling be a possibility?

Tinkfromlovejoy · 02/11/2016 08:23

I scored 8. I feel like I drink too much and am surprised I only scored 8. I think my anxiety about drinking is worse than my actual drinking.

Good luck flaps.
