Creepy Clowns

I am genuinely worried about these people dressing up as clowns and think something nasty might happen.

Is it just me?

trufflehunterthebadger · 11/10/2016 01:12

I didnt think you were ! Trouble is, by the time our limited resources get there from 5 miles away they are long gone.

We just dont have the officers to deal with it

DaviesMum · 11/10/2016 01:15

If any clowns jump out on me, they're getting a dick kick.

Tbh, I'd kick their balls so fucking hard they'd be choking on them.

HobnailsandTaffeta · 11/10/2016 01:18

It won't be here the problem will occur, I think it will be the US. It's absolutely possible for one of these fools to get themselves shot, can you imagine being stupid enough to do this over there.

This was the one that made me REALLY cross, in Australia. Pinned post at the top, they are blaming the dog OWNER for hurting it! Angry

i understand truffle You are at the sharp end as an officer on the ground. (no pun intended)

SylvieB74 · 11/10/2016 01:26

I've ordered my pepper spray, so they'd best stay away from me 😀

HelenaDove · 11/10/2016 02:02

"Norfolk, Norwich: A 30-year-old man dressed up as a clown has been arrested after jumping out on a lone woman in a park and chasing her. The man was arrested in connection with Public Order offences after screaming at the female victim on Sunday. He was given a caution."

RachelRagged · 11/10/2016 08:34

3 by your window ? Scary shit .
Any do that I shall put the harness and lead on my dog , take her outside and introduce her to the freaks

whyistherumgone · 11/10/2016 09:31

it IS very odd - and does creep me out. I think it's the primal fear of the clown get up but also not knowing the intention -just to scare (bad enough) or would they actually do something if they caught up with the people they were chasing??

I would be terrified if I came across one!

I saw this on Facebook the other day - made me laugh at first then sort of think holy hell the world really is going to shit:

"the streets are being terrorised by clowns and a corrupt millionaire is running for president. Batman, we need you"

whyistherumgone · 11/10/2016 09:35

that will
probably be the next thing -vigilante batmans chasing down the clowns

Ohb0llocks · 11/10/2016 09:47

It's only a matter of time before a group of seriously pissed off parents go looking for them.

justgivemeamo · 11/10/2016 09:59

young boy on news this am said a clown threw rock at him, huge bruise on arm, near me reports of some one being attacked with clown - and hammer....

sorry this made me really chuckle!!

HalfShellHero · 11/10/2016 10:02

It's happened a few years in a row round our end , I remember a few yrs years back this happening it genuinely blows over before bonfire night, it's a halloween thing although some morons take it too far...

justgivemeamo · 11/10/2016 10:06

One of our towns soft play areas was targeted this afternoon by a clown with a fake slit throat, waving a knife around in the car park as children were leaving the afternoon session Shock

the outfit gives people a sense of anonymity and could attack some real nutters to blend in with the rest. Being annoymous helps you to act out things you may not normally do.

ZuleikaDobson · 11/10/2016 10:13

I had a couple jump out at me. I just told them to grow up and carried on with my day. They're looking for a reaction, just don't give it to them.

pregnantat50 · 11/10/2016 10:43

This is the first I have heard of these clown issues. What areas have they been reported in? My daughter has a clown phobia as it is so hope they dont appear where we live.

FairyAnn · 11/10/2016 10:51

Apparently it has come over from the US. There was a spate of incidents a few weeks back and now it has crossed the pond.

I think it is considered a 'craze' - people joining in to be part of the hoax, but not understanding why they are doing it.

Plus the 'carrying weapons' thing is a big no-no!

I love Halloween, and I love being scared! But that's my choice. It's not fair to go about terrorising people and scaring children. They're going to ruin Halloween for everyone :(

pregnantat50 · 11/10/2016 10:53

do you think it will end after Halloween?

Sallystyle · 11/10/2016 11:00

I have got to bike home in the dark past the university which is quiet at that time of night and pretty dark. If I see a clown I will shit myself. I don't have a phobia of clowns but wouldn't want to see a prick dressed up as one when I'm on my own.

One close to where I live was arrested the other night.

FairyAnn · 11/10/2016 11:00

If it lasts that long to be honest. As terrifying as it is, these things rarely keep traction for very long.

Planking, happy slapping, etc... These were major stories at the time but eventually fizzled out. When the media stops reporting on them, they should lose interest and move onto the next craze.

It may resurface in a few years but I doubt it will last long (could be completely wrong however!)

Mummylin · 11/10/2016 11:03

I myself aren't frightened of clowns. But in saying that if one suddenly jumped out in front of me in the dark I probably would be scared to death and find it menacing.

lifeistooshort · 11/10/2016 11:07

For those who are wondering if it is real, it definitely is. There were five clowns causing havoc by DD school yesterday and the police had to be called several time. Some of DD's friends were terrified. It was very disruptive. What kind of moron preys on young children/teens?

BishopBrennansArse · 11/10/2016 11:13

There are a few photoshopped pictures locally here. One that definitely wasn't was a pleasant individual doing it on a narrow, poorly lit track between the leisure centre and a huge park in our local town. Armed with an axe. Jumping out in front of cars.

If some prick does that to me I'm not stopping.

JeanGenie23 · 11/10/2016 11:19

I just commented on the other thread, I haven't seen any myself but there have been photos in local paper of one appearing in the car park of Tesco. I am not scared of clowns myself but if one jumped out at me/approached me/ran towards me, I would be petrified.
They aren't just idiots in masks making people jump, they are intimidating and threatening violence, carrying (sometimes fake) weapons. It won't be long before they jump out at someone and get socked in the face, or chase someone and get run over or whatever...

moglovespumpkins · 11/10/2016 11:19

facebook report of someone attacked not far from me by a clown with a knife. dd is scared stiff. bloody idiots Angry
