Ocado Avoid
Placed an order with a Groupon discount voucher. Picked a delivery date. Day before delivery order gets cancelled. Delivery is Cancelled last minute 4 TIMES. Start complaining vehemently on twitter #Ocado and email to CEO. Customer Service manager finally calls admits delivery will be cancelled yet again so now 5 times. Agrees to goods for free (so relatively happy) Day before delivery manager phones to only offer 50Pct. And lies that previously he denied offering the goods for free. Told him to give shove the goods where the sun don't shine. Email again to CEO. Start twitter complaining. Ocado now threatening to block me on their twitter feed.

OP posts:

I used them for a couple of years and it was pretty flawless....then, out of the blue, they were late delivering my shopping 4 weeks consecutively (once considerably so - think 22.30 for a 18.00 slot). They weren't particularly apologetic either, so I cancelled my Ocado pass thingy. At this point they offered me £20 off my next shop to stay, but I was miffed that no explanation had been offered to explain why this service failure had occurred (it was as if they thought they could just buy back my loyalty) and so I switched to Waitrose.

I see from the thread that I appear to be in a minority....

oblada · 01/10/2016 12:54

Absolutely love ocado!! And because they're linked with a French supermarket name there are a few v nice French products on! Love it! :)
Sorry for your difficult experience tho. Been with them for probably 5yrs and no plan to change.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 01/10/2016 12:58

Wish I'd not bothered.. Not very eloquent, and a bit repetitive.
My first foray onto twitter has left me sadly deflated.

PikachuBoo · 01/10/2016 13:00

Modemfish has posted his/her postcode on twitter. Really hasn't understood social media.

hmcAsWas · 01/10/2016 13:02

Just seen this extututtfrutti: "My credit card for the reserved payment expired yesterday and when they tried to put the charge through today it was rejected.
They said they sent me an email......"

When this happened to me with Waitrose, they called me (landline and mobile) until they got me - then we were able to sort it over the phone and delivery arrived as booked. I prefer having my deliveries from a branch of Waitrose, where a problem is owned by the staff, and if an issue arises you call the store not a call centre

Tanith · 01/10/2016 13:05

We had heavy snow one year and no-one, not even the postman got up to us.

No-one, that is, except the Ocado delivery driver, who had dug his lorry out of every single delivery that day - and apologised for being late! Those drivers are saints - wonderful people

JustHappy3 · 01/10/2016 13:12

Ocado are brilliant. Never late, no complaints.

JagerPlease · 01/10/2016 13:16

Switched to ocado this week having bought the Groupon, all successfully delivered this morning. Delivery was bang on time and no substitutions

Noodledoodledoo · 01/10/2016 13:17

Another one who loves Ocado!

Had one delivery arrived VERY late about 6 hours but called to say stuck in a stationary M25 - air ambulance situation so no way to rectify.

Only get missing items if I order very late compared to when I want it delivered.

Hate the email they send saying my special offer on the delivery pass is finishing, always sounds gloom and doom and then reduce it even more! Currently paying £2.99 a month for Tues/Wed/Thurs deliveries for nothing.

Always polite, always helpful, sometimes early, very rarely late.

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 01/10/2016 13:28

#wtf indeed.

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2016 13:43

Used them for 10 years. They send me a bottle of my favourite wine on our anniversary! They've cancelled once after their depo was flooded otherwise they've been utterly reliable, polite and efficient.

kaputt · 01/10/2016 14:47

This reminds me of that amazing thread a while ago about 'stuff to order on ocado'. Whoever posted on that thread about the frozen croissants, you made my saturday mornings forever.

GrumpyOldBag · 01/10/2016 14:51

OP has also posted her email address on Twitter, which is asking for trouble ...

ColintheCrow · 01/10/2016 15:10

God you sound fucking scary and aggressive on twitter.

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 01/10/2016 15:11

I read it in the style of Kathy Bates.

CurlyBlueberry · 01/10/2016 15:12

OP, I imagine they cancelled your order four times because you kept trying to re-order using the same faulty code (not your fault - but maybe an explanation).

Personally I bloody love Ocado. I seem to be missing a trick with the smart pass though as we were getting it fairly cheap but it's just refreshed itself and is now charging me £35 for six months which seems pricey to me - I'm sure I was only paying something like £14.99 for six months before. Regardless, I seem to spend far less on a shop using Ocado than I do going to Tesco, so am still saving money in the long run. A weekly shop costing £70 on Ocado is usually over £100 if I go to Tesco!

NotYoda · 01/10/2016 18:25

kaputt

I think that was meeeee!

Lorelei76 · 01/10/2016 19:03

Ive only just seen this - interesting use of twitter - but I can't see a postcode or any tweets since yesterday so hopefully op has calmed down.

I've never had issues with ocado but I cba using groupon again, lots of issues, not worth the discount even for a penny pincher like me.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 02/10/2016 07:39

Well...... I have to eat my words, because that's all we've got to eat this morning.
Ocado hadn't arrived for the 7.30 to 8.30 pm slot and we rang at 8.35pm as we had dinner reservations at 9pm.

They couldn't contact the driver and wouldn't rearrange for this morning and we were on the phone for 1/4 hour.

He left a little note on our door at 9pm saying "Don't Worry"

Ocado, you've really let me down.

BoopTheSnoot · 02/10/2016 07:53

Jeeeeez OP, I get why you're angry but all those Tweets are a bit over the top Hmm
Just take your 50% off and move on with your life! I don't see how it's worth all the stress.

BoopTheSnoot · 02/10/2016 08:03

Gosh I've just read the full tirade of Tweets. I'd have blocked you days ago if I were them!

JakeBallardswife · 02/10/2016 08:05

I adore ocado, if the odd product is crushed or leaking it's immediately refunded. They deliver waitrose and morrisons and the customer service is amazing with both. Sorry op I don't believe you.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 02/10/2016 08:06

I've got to start Twittering because I'm hungry and furious again this morning.

ChickenSalad · 02/10/2016 08:07

I use Waitrose deliver instead as it's free delivery.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 02/10/2016 08:09

Sadly Chicken, I'm going back to Waitrose,
They just didn't give a shit last night and made zero effort Sad
