Ocado Avoid
Placed an order with a Groupon discount voucher. Picked a delivery date. Day before delivery order gets cancelled. Delivery is Cancelled last minute 4 TIMES. Start complaining vehemently on twitter #Ocado and email to CEO. Customer Service manager finally calls admits delivery will be cancelled yet again so now 5 times. Agrees to goods for free (so relatively happy) Day before delivery manager phones to only offer 50Pct. And lies that previously he denied offering the goods for free. Told him to give shove the goods where the sun don't shine. Email again to CEO. Start twitter complaining. Ocado now threatening to block me on their twitter feed.

OP posts:
EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 30/09/2016 22:03

I've used them since 2003 and never heard of anything like this. I've never gone through Groupon though. I've heard of lots of problems with those kind of 'deals' I've also, never, in all those years, had a message about them being too busy to respond.

Whenever I've contacted customer services they've been excellent and in one case of a significant problem they more than made amends.

PickAChew · 30/09/2016 22:03

Gosh, SexDrugsAndSausagerolls (I've trained DS2 to sing sandwich cake and sausage rolls about his packed lunch, so love your username) one of those tweets says #rending so must be realy popular, like.

But yeah, I'd block them on Twitter, too. Do Ocado sell new hinges or marbles?

PickAChew · 30/09/2016 22:05

#trending

though OP obviously intends for their sob story to be #rending, too.

Fuckingbollocksbugger · 30/09/2016 22:05

Holy crap you sound completely bananas on Twitter

Buxtonstill · 30/09/2016 22:06

Used Ocado for 10+ years. Couldn't be without them. Looking for a new house; in an Ocado delivery area was a serious consideration.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 30/09/2016 22:07

Where have they threatened to block because it doesn't appear any of the Tweets have replies.

Sackmagique · 30/09/2016 22:07

Yeah seriously, modemfish, there's getting action through Twitter as demonstrated numerous times on MN, and then there is sounding unhinged.

Tanith · 30/09/2016 22:07

Used Ocado since they started up and never, ever had a problem with them. Quite the reverse!

ooerrmissus · 30/09/2016 22:08

I love Ocado. They sell Dandelion & Burdock.

sparechange · 30/09/2016 22:09

I love Ocado. They have simplified my life so much.
I briefly stopped using them because a new Waitrose opened near me. Lasted about 4 weeks before going back to them.
Their delivery drivers are unfailingly polite and lovely and helpful, and I've never had any weird substitutions.

bettytaghetti · 30/09/2016 22:10

There was a groupon code on Hotukdeals that everyone was using and so I think they cancelled all the orders using that code. Your order may have got caught up in that.
On the whole Ocado have been pretty reliable for me, so I'm sorry OP you are having these problems.
Compared to other supermarket delivery services they are complete angels (yes I'm talking about you Sainsburys for cancelling my order the day before Christmas because I went in to edit it with a couple of minutes till the cutoff time and couldn't then checkout again in time despite only adding one item! Bastards!!).

Batteriesallgone · 30/09/2016 22:10

Well this thread has backfired on you OP. I suspect your search for free food and drink will not be assisted by mumsnet.

SoupDragon · 30/09/2016 22:12

BEWARE when things go bad they don't care about you. You are just a dollar commodity to them.

Nope. When things have gone wrong they have always sorted it out quickly and politely.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 30/09/2016 22:14

I have ordered from Ocado every week for years and have had an issue twice.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/09/2016 22:15

They have been promising to deliver to my area for 8 years, still haven't made it here.

RortyCrankle · 30/09/2016 22:15

I agree OP they are crap. No delivery, no customer service, numerous calls to get my money refunded.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Inertia · 30/09/2016 22:18

Sounds like a problem with the Groupon arrangement. Have been using Ocado for several years and their service has always been excellent.

Tequilamockinbird · 30/09/2016 22:19

Jeez, just looked at your Twitter. Im not surprised they're threatening to block you. I'd block you too!

I've never dealt with Ocado so can't comment on that, but you mr tweets make you look like a mad woman!

Tequilamockinbird · 30/09/2016 22:20

Have to say that I've always had great customer service. However I have never tried to use groupon with them.

The two posters, inc op, with negative issues - were you both using groupon, or dealing with them directly?

MancMum01 · 30/09/2016 22:20

you sound demented on twitter - how do you expect any organisation to respond to you seriously when you are coming across as deranged?

DesolateWaist · 30/09/2016 22:21

You are just a dollar commodity to them.

Do we use the dollar now?

That email said that as their call centre was very busy you might find it easier to do it online, not that you shouldn't call them.

I'm another long term customer who is very happy.
I have had two deliveries cancelled in the last 6 years.

I don't think you trying to rubbish them is going to get very far. It's very hard to do when most people are happy.

listsandbudgets · 30/09/2016 22:22

Blimey. If that's your twitter account OPENING I can only assume that you are either a disgruntled ex employee or are involved in some kind of vendetta against a senior member of their management

Calm down, reorder with one of yheir competitors and dont get so wound up. Yes it's inconvenient but you are expending a lot of unnecessary stress and energy over a mere supermarket order.

listsandbudgets · 30/09/2016 22:24

OP not opening
