Ocado Avoid
Placed an order with a Groupon discount voucher. Picked a delivery date. Day before delivery order gets cancelled. Delivery is Cancelled last minute 4 TIMES. Start complaining vehemently on twitter #Ocado and email to CEO. Customer Service manager finally calls admits delivery will be cancelled yet again so now 5 times. Agrees to goods for free (so relatively happy) Day before delivery manager phones to only offer 50Pct. And lies that previously he denied offering the goods for free. Told him to give shove the goods where the sun don't shine. Email again to CEO. Start twitter complaining. Ocado now threatening to block me on their twitter feed.

OP posts:

I've has two cancellation in about 10 years. Both were on a Friday evening

listsandbudgets · 01/10/2016 08:03

Take a chill pill OP... see you are still tweeting away.

Honestly in the time you've spent complaining you could probably have ordered from sainsbury.co.uk and had it delivered

BaronessEllaSaturday · 01/10/2016 08:19

I love Ocado, I try to make sure I don't order when snow is forecast but I got caught out last year and we had a very heavy and unexpected snow fall. Rather than cancelling the delivery because the he couldn't get to the house the driver parked up the van and carried all the bags up the hill to us. My only issue with them is that they keep turning up a bit early though in that situation they have always sat and waited if I'm not in.

Imchangingmyname · 01/10/2016 08:20

Oh my goodness. The Twitter feed. At first I thought they must have charged you and not delivered but I can see from the crazy Twitter feed that this isn't the case.

I would have a cup of tea, get yourself to Tesco and give your GP a call.

Fuckingbollocksbugger · 01/10/2016 08:50

OP you are retweeting your own tweets...

RaspberryIce · 01/10/2016 08:54

puglife15 · 01/10/2016 09:25

OP did you actually pay for the Groupon voucher? Is that how it works?

Or did you just find some code you weren't really meant to use online?

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 01/10/2016 09:33

I've been with Ocado for either 6 or 8 years (can't remember but get wine on our anniversary Grin) Always pretty good, rarely have problems.

I have two deliveries a week, one on a Saturday morning reserved slot.
And they let me down today.

My credit card for the reserved payment expired yesterday and when they tried to put the charge through today it was rejected.
They said they sent me an email.

They didn't. I'm very cross with them. I've got a 7-30pm slot tonight but no bloody breakfast or cat food Angry

LittleBearPad · 01/10/2016 09:36

Ocado are great. And ironically this thread is fab free publicity for them.

GrumpyOldBag · 01/10/2016 09:46

OP not sure you really understand how Twitter works? You don't generally retweet your own tweets. And you only have 5 followers which is hardly going to make a massive impact.

And you only seem to use Twitter for complaining about stuff.

IJustLostTheGame · 01/10/2016 09:48

I've given up on ocado.
Every time I order one vital thing is missing from EVERY meal. And theres always something missing from a deal too.
I used to love it.

HardcoreLadyType · 01/10/2016 09:49

Another really good thing about Ocado is when you do a multi buy offer (like 25% off 6 bottles of wine) and they can't deliver it all (say they deliver 5 of the 6 bottles) you still get the discount.

This also applies to substitutions they make.

GrumpyOldBag · 01/10/2016 09:54

I'm a very happy long-standing Ocado customer. Been using them for over 10 years. Only had one delivery cancelled due to a computer glitch at their end. Was re-delivered the following day.
Get far fewer substitutions now than I used to.
I have also had the delivery driver trudge uphill in the snow to deliver my order.
Drivers are always polite, and often arrive early but call first to ask if it's OK.
And I recently discovered that if you order a midweek delivery you rarely have to pay a delivery charge.
Small annoyances: I didn't get any coffee beans this week as for some reason they didn't appear on my Favourites list or Have You Run Out Of. This happens occasionally, as we adapt to the Ocado way of shopping and then it doesn't always work.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 01/10/2016 09:59

The cat and I are finding it difficult to forgive them for cancelling breakfast this morning. Angry

listsandbudgets · 01/10/2016 10:09

Take the cat out for a posh breakfast tutti. Mine is partial to smoked salmon and scrambled egg Smile

Tequilamockinbird · 01/10/2016 10:15

Because of the great feedback on this thread, I'm just about to place my first ever Ocado order.

I found a discount code here if anyone else is looking for one Grin

Oh, and OP, you really should see a doctor about your ongoing uncontrollable rage over some groceries.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 01/10/2016 10:19

Can't drive at the moment due to surgery on Thursday lists and the cat hasn't got a licence (lazy arse).
She supplies regurgitated mouse heads but I don't really fancy that this morning Sad

listsandbudgets · 01/10/2016 10:25

Useless cat. Give her a list and send her out hunting. Ours once dragged into half a leg of lamb still warm one Sunday lunch time. Couldn't look neighbours in face for ages wondering who lost their roast!

listsandbudgets · 01/10/2016 10:26

Sorry hot send too soon.

Hope you recover quickly from surgery and ocarina compensate you for your missing breakfast

GrumpyOldBag · 01/10/2016 10:30

Tutti that is why I don't like cats!

PickleSarnie · 01/10/2016 10:32

This must be some sort of marketing gimmick. Make a fake twitter account, make the twitter feed sound like the work of someone clearly deranged, start threads on mumsnet, have loads of people jump to ocados defense (quite rightly because ocado are awesome) and get a whole bunch of new customers for free.

Perhaps instead of banning you ocado should put you on the payroll OP

Dogolphin · 01/10/2016 10:33

Ocado mucked us around so much we stopped using them!

I've had one problem, just a late delivery but I'd times it for school run etc, I phoned them and got a £10 voucher and a box of chocs in my next shop

ifyoulikepinacolada · 01/10/2016 10:37

This thread has convinced me to order from ocado next week. Thanks OP!
