Ocado Avoid
Placed an order with a Groupon discount voucher. Picked a delivery date. Day before delivery order gets cancelled. Delivery is Cancelled last minute 4 TIMES. Start complaining vehemently on twitter #Ocado and email to CEO. Customer Service manager finally calls admits delivery will be cancelled yet again so now 5 times. Agrees to goods for free (so relatively happy) Day before delivery manager phones to only offer 50Pct. And lies that previously he denied offering the goods for free. Told him to give shove the goods where the sun don't shine. Email again to CEO. Start twitter complaining. Ocado now threatening to block me on their twitter feed.

been using them on and off for over 6 years and never had an order cancelled, lots of people around here use them and never heard complaints of cancelled orders - is it something to do Groupon ?

I stopped using them all the time as there are cheaper supermarkets and we had quite a few subsitutions of things I needed, but have never had them not turn up - they even managed it to make it to us in the snow. (Neighbours had Tescos cancel their delivery)

blueturtle6 · 30/09/2016 21:24

Ocado sent me ginger wine as a substitute. Years later its still in cupboard and I have no clue what it was subbed for. Apart from that they were fab

Normanpriceisnotarolemodel · 30/09/2016 21:25

When they cancelled on me once, I got a £25 voucher. Happy enough with that. What were you expecting, exactly?

e1y1 · 30/09/2016 21:27

Ocado delivery is usually flawless, so sounds very unusual.

Only problem is that Waitrose own brand food is shockingly bad and the branded stuff is available anywhere - Sainsbury's, Tesco etc.

HardcoreLadyType · 30/09/2016 21:28

I've used Ocado practically since they started. I've never had a delivery cancelled, that I can remember. The customer service has always been exemplary.

I'm sorry you've had this issue with them, but I believe it is not be typical of them.

Quills · 30/09/2016 21:32

Another voice in support of Ocado - the only online supermarket I would trust with my Christmas shop! Only ever had one issue with them and their handling of it was exemplary.

If you bought the Groupon code, I would suggest you aim your complaints at them. If you didn't...well, you chanced it and it didn't happen. Move on!

ratspeaker · 30/09/2016 21:32

We dont get Ocado here, Edinburgh, I feel jealous when everyone raves about it.
And rather miffed when offered discount codes.

Shinyshoes2 · 30/09/2016 21:33

Never had a problem with
Ocado ever

Sparklesilverglitter · 30/09/2016 21:33

I used them for a long time, never had an issue.

Could it be a problem with the groupon?

ratspeaker · 30/09/2016 21:33

Did you buy the codes on Groupon , OP?
I'd complain to them

whattodowiththepoo · 30/09/2016 21:34

Never had a problem with Ocado, never complained on Twitter.

GingerbreadLatteToGo · 30/09/2016 21:35

No problems here either.

Looks like GROUPON is the problem here.

modemfish · 30/09/2016 21:48

Ocado Avoid Below is one of the automated emails they sent basically saying don't call customer services but rebook a new Delivery. No explanation as to why. did this 4 times then customer service manager calls to say there was a stock delay Groupon was all good. During discussion he offers 50Pct discount said I wasn't interested (this wasn't about the money but the angst and frustration this has caused. ) After further discussion I agreed to accept the goods for free (who wouldn't) in closing I repeated the offer of the goods for free delivered on Saturday and he again confirmed. What I'm p**d about is when he phoned me today he completely denied offering the goods for free. HE IS A LIAR and as he represents Ocado they in turn are underhand liars. Believe me this is not about the money I turned down a discount of 70gbp and have a Groupon voucher that cost me 60gbp that I will never spend with Ocado. I know many of you have had good experiences with Ocado but BEWARE when things go bad they don't care about you. You are just a dollar commodity to them.

Due to events outside our control we've been forced to cancel your Ocado delivery (order number xxxx) due on 27/09/2016 at 12:30. Of course, you won't be charged for this order.

Currently, our contact centre is extremely busy and we are experiencing large call and email volumes. To save time, you can rebook your order on ocado.com or on our app.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for cancelling your order.

Regards and apologies,

Ocado Customer Service Team

This sounds like a very specific problem, OP. As many of us have said, ocado's customer service is normally top-notch

bruffin · 30/09/2016 21:54

Another one who has never had a problem and been using them for years.

travailtotravel · 30/09/2016 21:55

I thought this would be about products to avoid - and came on to say don't bother with the cornflake ice cream that's on offer!

Another one never had an issue.

Pinkheart5915 · 30/09/2016 21:55

I've used them for a long time and never so much as a problem.

I think it must be the voucher causing you the problems

PickAChew · 30/09/2016 21:57

It's easy for me to avoid Ocado, since they avoid delivering to my far from sparsely populated part of England.

Batteriesallgone · 30/09/2016 21:57

They aren't going to give you free stuff. Oh gosh. What a shame Hmm

Eatthecake · 30/09/2016 21:58

I've never had a problem with them either and I've used them for years.

I think the groupon is your problem, maybe take it up with the groupon people

SexDrugsAndSausagesrolls · 30/09/2016 21:59

mobile.twitter.com/modemfish

Woahhhh

SexDrugsAndSausagesrolls · 30/09/2016 21:59

Look how many tweets

ooerrmissus · 30/09/2016 22:00

Indeed. Not surprised they are going to block you on Twitter.

HalloToJasonIsaacs · 30/09/2016 22:01

Ocado are normally excellent (I've been using them weekly for the last 8 years).

Groupon offers however are a law unto themselves and should always be taken with a cellar full of salt. Whoever at Ocado agreed the deal needs to be sacked ASAP.

Camembertie · 30/09/2016 22:01

That sounds to me like it may be a problem between Groupon and Ocado, have you spoken to Groupon?

Again sorry but this is very unrepresentative of Cado
