I was a massive user of Mumsnet , but i hardly ever visit now because i can guarantee within 10 replies on any thread it will have turned nasty. Why ? I spent many an evening having a real good laugh at some of the stories but now it seems to be who can be the nastiest first . Shame shame .

in the old days, god, the regulars were terrifying!!!!

It was fun to read but you wouldn't dare post.

It's much more open now, less "in" jokes. There's still the odd centreparcs reference or "Cancel the cheque" but if anyone asks what people are on about posters explain the joke and don't act all cliquey like they used to

I had a PM from some silly cunt who felt it important to share with me that I wasn't as funny as I thought I was. I found it hugely amusing although I didn't answer because I thought 'fuck off you humourless wankrag' was probably not going to help the situation!

This is an odd thread. I've had a look round quite a few forums and if I don't like one then I just never visit it again. What I don't do is waste my time and theirs telling them that I don't like it and what's more I'm never going to post there. That's just fucking odd behaviour!

Yes yes, Livia and Arseicle, hence the quotation marks. By that I mean a forum where you might expect useful input, albeit from strangers. Otherwise, why would anyone bother posting?

mn used to be friendlier, people now just seem to take the ump at the slightest thing and i don't see much debate on lighter matters. It's a shame but inevitable really

i did once send an apology to someone who obviously had a gripe with me but they just ignored it. I think that's a bit rude really. shows how standards have slipped here ;)

In real life, however...

I think the nasties have got nastier and the goodies have got good-erer so the contrast is more noticeable.

Or you know, some people are complete twats who will be rude to anyone for any reason. Others are decent enough people who will lose their cool sometimes and then you have the others. Smile
