I was a massive user of Mumsnet , but i hardly ever visit now because i can guarantee within 10 replies on any thread it will have turned nasty. Why ? I spent many an evening having a real good laugh at some of the stories but now it seems to be who can be the nastiest first . Shame shame .

Is that really what you think arf? Sounds like I'm not the only one stuck in the 50s then. People can be bold and assertive without being nasty you know. Hate to break it to you hun.

Soubriquet · 07/09/2016 23:15

Say bye bye to your thread Gin

KittensWithWeapons · 07/09/2016 23:17

Crapple3030, oh I see. You're here to be a bit of a goady arse. Never mind. You're not the first pathetic gobeshite to try and rile people here, and I'm certain that you won't be the last. Anyway. You might want to seek help for whatever issues are causing you to be so attention seeking. Because honestly, no-one here really cares if you refer to us as a 'bear pit'.

'Now I have my share of problems in my life just like everyone else but I'm fucked if I'd tell you lot about them' Oh. I guess we'll all just have to live with the disappointment.

Crapple3030 · 07/09/2016 23:19

Thanks for just proving my last point kitten.

KittensWithWeapons · 07/09/2016 23:22

What point?

SabineUndine · 07/09/2016 23:24

I find most people on here perfectly OK but there are a few who just take other people apart for their own amusement. Contemptible really.

DropYourSword · 08/09/2016 03:18

I am loving 'humourless wankrag'!

It was implied I was an utter twat one time when I stated I wouldn't raise my child to be a racist Nritain First sympathiser. Go figure!

Crapple are you ok? You sound extremely riled. Maybe time to step away from the computer/phone....

MsJamieFraser · 08/09/2016 07:15

I still enjoy coming on, however by as much as I used to.

Some posters bring the place down with their superior pendants corner, their low blows and bitchyness, there is always a post that's a school yard play ground.

Some posters however in here are wonderful, those are what keep me here.

Ginslinger · 08/09/2016 08:35

waitrosepigeon I can practically see your headtilt Grin we definitely need a tilty head symbol

WaitrosePigeon · 08/09/2016 08:47

We definitely do! Grin

DropYourSword · 08/09/2016 08:53

Yeah Arf.
I'm probably misrepresenting that slightly actually. But I got a bit sweary because someone thought being racist to Muslims was ok, i said I wouldn't be raising my child that way, with a couple of expletives thrown in, and they did the whole Hmm I feel sorry for your children, do you really think you're better than me thing. Yes, yes I bloody do if you're a racist prick!

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 09:06

Do you know why I think this is one of the worst sites on the web? People actually come here for support. Nobody posts on Arrse, Reddit, 4chan or any of those other fucknugget sites with their intimate and difficult situations and ask for help. They do here and more's the pity because it's a fucking bear pit.

If you think people don't get support on here, you haven't been looking. Wander over to Relationships, SN, mental health etc if you don't believe it. People regularly get support on AIBU and Chat as well, though I agree that there are occasions when some idiots are just spoiling for a fight and wilfully misread and misinterpret posts to suit their agenda.

What you can't expect is unconditional support. If you're acting like an arsehole, you can't expect to come on here and say "Sympathise with meeeee, everyone's being mean." I don't really see what's difficult to understand about that.

True. You have to be pretty thick skinned on here though - or good at ignoring posts though if you do post for support. This is a public site and who knows who's reading it.

Mrs DV is right though, that when MN is supportive and kind (which I still think the majority is) it's one of the most amazing forums around. As well as the bench for Billie, there was the mile for Maude, there has been lots of stuff like that, there is the secret Santa and I know there are also kind and supportive private PMs as well as the public everyday stuff.

I personally have been overwhelmed by the kindness of total strangers on here, as well as people I "know". Just this year I posted for advice on a medical problem and received an expensive amazing piece of equipment (which I certainly wasn't asking or hinting for) and the sender would not accept any payment (so I made a charity donation - waits to be flamed as a virtue signaller Grin) and it really made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

We can and I do moan about trolls and the Daily Mail and MRAs being dicks and they are part of everyday life on the Internet, maybe they do exist in greater numbers on MN than on other forums, but also kind, funny, intelligent women exist much more on MN than on other forums, IMHO.

We just need to keep on reporting the knobheads and ignoring the goady fuckers I try but fail but I also think it would really make a difference if NCIng was restricted (and crapple proves my point here, there's no way you're a newbie see I can't ignore goady fuckers).

We also totally need a head tilt emoticon. I'd fucking love a humphy wee head tilt!

I think posters should be limited to 2 names.
