Don't know if you remember my thread awhile ago about a certain chocolate retailer leaving me out in the street in my wheelchair, because they had no disabled access? Well they promised a bell as they refused to put any ramp in. Went there today and guess what? No fucking bell. I'm suppose I should have expected it, but I had hoped the bell could have been sorted by now. I mean how long does it take to put a bell up?

Personally, who cares ? If Thorntons are happy to allow their name to be used (and make money from said name) then they should accept what is done in their name. And if I operated a Thortons franchise, I would expect some support from them too.

I guess this is another area where I am out of step with "how it's done nowdays" ?

It's the Norwich orford place shop. This one. How do I tell if it's a franchise? It's not inside another shop or anything.

Myself and my daughter did a wheelchair course but I couldn't do much. Taught her to wheelie! And go down stairs in a fire. Go go kids it was called I think.

I'm trying to lose weight so I don't have to have such a huge one. Not going well!
My painkilling patches have side effects. Top one is rapid weight gain. 😩

Mummyme I've had email to confirm bell has been delivered. I see things have moved on while I've been, out & I'm delighted to hear the lazy buggers have finally replied to you & are going to get off their butts & fix the bell. Not sure if they have bought their own but be sure to ask them. If they haven't fitted the one from Amazon make sure you get it from them & keep to hand for next time (& I expect unfortunately there will be more times) so you can slap the bell on the counter & tell them to sort it. I really hope you have the fight in you to see the legal case through, they still need to get a bloody ramp. As for what's being going on in the background, I think Lurking has summed it up, too much effort & can't be arsed. I expect they think you will now be happy & get out of their hair, little do they know!

I did read your post. However, subtle if-it-makes-not-difference-it-is-no-difference-how-many-angels-on-the-head-of-a-pin differences between franchise and original stores are of no interest. As far as the OP is concerned it's Thorntons who have let her down. So Thorntons who should respond.

If indeed this is a franchise of Thorntons then Thorntons should deal with them.

It's a little (but not exactly, I appreciate) like buying a toaster from Currys, having it pack up on day 1, going back to store to be told "you need to deal with Russell Hobbs about that."

Clearly you didn't because I work for the company and give her the exact name and email address of the person in charge but it is a different person depending on whether it is an owned retail store than if it is a franchises store.
