I have n/c for this.

AIBU to think that an adult man saying "I'm your daddy/who's your daddy/tell my I'm your daddy" during sex is just downright weird?

Blush Sad Hmm

TotallySpies17 · 30/08/2016 12:39

Really weird!

missuspritch · 30/08/2016 17:45

Very very creepy during sex...

On the other hand though my DP and I call each other mummy/daddy in normal day to day situations. (Not all the time however!) We're new parents and like the titles lol Grin

Shona52 · 30/08/2016 17:46

would total freak me out and they would be kicked to the kerb

Alasdair53 · 30/08/2016 17:50

According to the urban dictionary Who's the Daddy, I'm the Daddy now is slang for saying he's the best. A bit dated now apparently but nothing to do with him wanting to be your father. Just an over the top expression of supreme satisfaction.

Not just weird. It makes him sound like a pedophile, and I would end the relationship immedately. Run away, fast and far.

When I saw the thread title I thought (hoped? ) it was something about "Luke I am your father", or something.

This is disgusting.

Loubylouchirino · 30/08/2016 18:12

Oh god, it's awful. It happened to me once, I knew he was a Dom but didn't expect the "daddy" reference and was dropped in at a crucial moment. Complete turn off, it was like a light had been turned off. I faked it and just cut it short Blush

gillybeanz · 30/08/2016 18:16

Thankfully have never referred to a man as daddy unless as a father Grin
Nor has one referrd to himself as one.

I have always believed it was a reference to 'sugar Daddy" A rich man buying a younger woman affection with money

VestalVirgin · 30/08/2016 18:18

He was ok. We had a fun day. There was a lot some wine. I said I was not going to have sex. He said fine. Then my resolve got weakened by cocktails and one thing led to another and before I knew it he was "my daddy"

See, I would never see him again for the sole reason that he didn't respect your earlier (sober) decision and didn't remind you of it when you were drunk.
Also not sure how many smaller violations of consent there were in this "one thing led to another" process.
He doesn't seem like a trustworthy or ethically upright person to me.

YelloDraw · 30/08/2016 18:20

I don't like it. But some people get off on age play.

TheNaze73 · 30/08/2016 18:21

In a word....grotesque

iloveeverykindofcat · 30/08/2016 18:25

Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope.

If a guy said this during sex I would run a mile.

That said, I'm not judging anyone's kink so long as it's negotiated and consensual and all. But for me.....noooopee....

TheoGB · 30/08/2016 18:31

I'm afraid pigs you are very mistaken indeed! AC Slater used to refer to Jessie Spano - not Kelly! - as his "mama". And meanwhile it was Zach and Kelly who were very clearly the "alpha couple" of the show.

I know it will be difficult to come back from this kind of mortifying mistake, but please don't let this stop you from posting again on mumsnet at some point in the future.

amybear100 · 30/08/2016 18:35

MNers are always so literal. It really is nothing to do with incest and paedophilia!

Idliketobeabutterfly · 30/08/2016 18:37

related to 'penetration man'?

husbandnet · 30/08/2016 18:37

If you want a guy's opinion on this? It's a no. Just no. Nil points. Eeew.

LadyShirazz · 30/08/2016 18:53

"Mommy" is used in American rap to describe a woman with whom one is having sexual relations. Which is weird.

Dare I say I call my (rather older than me) DH "daddy" as a jokey nickname...? Technically he could be, agewise (if not maturity).

He absolutely hates it, and NEVER EVER during sex. Bleurgh.

StrangeLookingParasite · 30/08/2016 19:08

It just made me laugh. One person I don't want to think about during sex is my dad. Can you imagine? "TimelyTess! What do you think you are doing with that man! You're a disgrace to the family! Go to your room!"
I'm 58.

Grin
StrangeLookingParasite · 30/08/2016 19:08

Pissing bold fail.

FloweryTwat · 30/08/2016 19:31

I never called DF daddy - but DD's call DH it constantly as they are little. That would freak me the fuck out if he wanted me to call him the same name as our kids do

VestalVirgin · 30/08/2016 19:35

Words have meanings, you know?

There is no reason to use "daddy" in a sexual context. Unless you get off on incest. Sorry, but that's just how it is.

No one has a problem with couples calling each other mommy and daddy to indicate that they are both parents of a child. Having a problem with that might, indeed, be "too literal"

However, "your daddy" used during sex doesn't really leave any room for interpretation. You can argue as long as you want that it "doesn't mean that", but, you see, to the general population, the word "daddy" has a specific meaning. You can't change that, and moreover, no one would really benefit from it being changed, which would be the only good reason to try and change language.

My father would be more like "Finally, I thought you'd never find a boyfriend!", but that doesn't mean I want to think about him. Or, like, any other family member.

"Mommy" is used in American rap to describe a woman with whom one is having sexual relations. Which is weird.

Well, it could mean they expect the women they have sex with to clean up after them and cook their meals.

But probably refers to the rappers' habit to not use condoms.
It's a bit like naming a pig "bacon".

The implications are troubling either way.

Loubylouchirino · 30/08/2016 19:44

Following from my previous post, the guy that dropped it on me also told me that if I was "a good girl for Daddy, I'd get a treat" and told me I was his "brat". No. Just no. Confused

itstimeforchange · 30/08/2016 20:16

In an attempt to get my head round it before I have wondered whether it is similar to the usage of the phrase, "I'll be mother", i.e. I'll pour the tea, cut the cake, serve the dinner, etc. I've heard both men and women say this, so it's like taking a role.

So maybe the "i'm the Daddy" thing is just about taking the role of being in charge? (Clutching at straws...)

Someone told me once that they thought it meant that it was men asserting their power by claiming THEY were the father of the woman's children, rather than any other contenders, exes, etc. In other words they were claiming the woman as property. Angry

Of course, those refer to "I'm THE daddy". As for "I'm YOUR daddy"... meh. Hmm

Lace456 · 30/08/2016 23:24

It's American but weird unless like agreed before

Although saying that, it's also weird to be like is it ok if u call me daddy when we get it on later?

ProphetOfDoom · 31/08/2016 00:38

How to cause a hiatus mid coitus! YADNU

My OH is from the American South and he failed to achieve his romantic intent when he sent me a song & the lyrics referenced the object of his desire as 'Mama'
Confused. I said I know incest is big in the South but they write songs about it too?

Even after his patient explanation I still think it's damn weird.
