Teenage girls and those stupid fucking photos give me the rage

I have stepdaughters and as a result have them and a few of their friends (who added me) on fb. They are constantly taking selfies of themselves either on their own or in groups with their hands over their faces so all you can see is one eye or a bit of skin. Either that it it's photos taken in the mirror with a flash so all you can see is their shoes or a shoulder. And there are hundreds of them.

It gives me a totally irrational rage. What is the fucking point? There are going to be a whole generation of girls who will have next to no photos of themselves at this age. I really don't get it. Beautiful girls who won't show their faces. Just why?

I think I need to hide most of these posts on FB before I give myself a hernia

YANBU I have a teenage dsis and cousin, they both do this and get about 100 comments telling them that they're 'goals' 'gorgeous bae' with fire emojis

Mind you in my day we wore mostly baggy shapeless clothes, very bad makeup and don't mention the hair. These days even with duck pouts they're all so bloody gorgeous.

I have adults who also take numerous selfies every day - it's so narcissistic.

One of my friends DDs photoshops herself within an inch of her life - if she went on a blind date he would get a shock.

Umm...stupid question but what does "you're goals" mean in relation to the photos? You are goal we should all try to achieve? Eh?

What does it mean to be a "goal"? I only have a handful of teens on my fb & none of them feel the need to cover their faces when near a camera, or use teen-talk!

I met a friend for dinner & the table next to us (about 6-8 young women) barely said a word to each other, but they did take loads of pictures of themselves. Was very odd.

There are very few day to day photos of me and my friends as teens: film was expensive, and for birthday and special occasions only. Bet there are still better pictures of them than there were of me

I haven't seen this type of photo (yet) but at least it makes a change from duck face.
