there seems to be a trend on here sometimes for some people to follow the 'popular choice' on subjects that might be controversial, some will stick their heads over the parapet and risk getting flamed but most will stick to the 'right' choice. i bet there are posters on here today who voted to leave, saw the slagging off and decided to declare themselves as remain.
just a thought - ready for my hair singeing ! Smile

I don't think so - most of the analysis I've seen says that well off, more highly educated people voted to remain, which fits well with the MN demographic.

If you went on Nethuns, i bet a lot of them would have voted leave.

meditrina · 24/06/2016 14:36

I think, when there have been elections/referenda, MN has been shown over and over again to be unrepresentative of the electorate as a whole.

ghostyslovesheep · 24/06/2016 14:38

nope I voted remain - because it was the right choice

SeriousCreativeBlock · 24/06/2016 14:39

No I genuinely voted remain.

Mistigri · 24/06/2016 14:39

I'm sure MN is very unrepresentative of the UK as a whole, if only because most members will be under 45 and many under 30. These groups voted for remain.

DiggersRest · 24/06/2016 14:39

I voted remain.

Pootles2010 · 24/06/2016 14:41

The other thing is, you tend to surround yourself with like minded people, read papers that agree with you, etc, confirmation bias I think it's called?

So you're more likely to hang out somewhere like MN if most people agree with you.

Nope I genuinely voted remain as did dh absolutely gutted today

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 24/06/2016 14:45

You understand this is an anonymous forum, right? What have you got to lose by declaring yourself as Leave? you can always namechange if you're embarrassed.

Costacoffeeplease · 24/06/2016 14:47

I voted remain, so did my husband - happy to tell anyone who asks

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/06/2016 14:48

I agree it's demographics.

TheDuchessOfArbroathsHat · 24/06/2016 14:48

I voted remain and would do so again in a heartbeat.

Buttock · 24/06/2016 14:50

I voted remain. I'm really sad and scared about our future today.

BocaDeTrucha · 24/06/2016 14:51

I genuinely voted remain, and now feel genuinely scared.

SquidgeyMidgey · 24/06/2016 14:53

I voted remain, honestly I did Smile

VenusOfWillendorf · 24/06/2016 14:53

Given this is a parenting website, I would expect a very large majority to vote Remain. The next generation has just lost the right to live and work in 27 other countries. In terms of loss of opportunites and experiances, that's a pretty oor legacy to hand down to them.

Whizzyloofah · 24/06/2016 14:54

I voted leave, have no reservations whatsoever in revealing it, either. I'm proud of my choice and believe it was the right one for the long term. I'm not racist, nor am I uneducated. I am shocked at the hysteria and name calling from some of the remain camp.

Notsure1234 · 24/06/2016 14:54

I voted remain, as did dh.

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 24/06/2016 14:55

Me! And all my friends and family.

I'm in Scotland though so we are in the majority.

ilovesooty · 24/06/2016 14:55

I voted remain and am stunned and sickened today.

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 24/06/2016 14:55

I did as did my husband all of my family and most of my friends. I'm in Scotland though. I also voted No in our Indyref before anyone brings up wanting independence but to remain in the EU.

Whoever cares about a strangers opinion on the Internet is extremely weird and insecure.
Some people voted in and some out. Out won why is this whole section full of threads on this. Move on if you don't like the results move out.
Really simple

Donatellalymanmoss · 24/06/2016 14:57

I voted remain, but there are plenty of posts from people who voted leave. Agree that the mumsnet demographics are skewed towards remain though.
