So 2 MO's have submitted a no confidence motion in Corbyn and many others are thought to support it because he didn't campaign Remain hard enough.
I'm shocked and disgusted that the MP's think this is for the best and what our country wants. Corbyn most likely didn't campaign as hard has he could because he still had serious doubts over the EU. If anything I think he is the best person to lead this country into independence but he's going to be kicked out next week because the MP's think his face doesn't fit. They've been waiting 9 months to find any excuse to oust him really.
What's happening to our country today? I'm off to look at rightmove overseas.........

Corbyn, McDonnell - apologists for terrorists. Nuff said!

I think the MPs are just thinking that he cannot win a general election. Obviously that is true, but it would be a stretch for any replacement to win either. To some extent when you have this little support from MPs in your own party you cannot effectively do your job as leader of the opposition. You can't unite the party in parliament, you just act as a distraction, and you have to select the shadow cabinet based on who will do it rather than merit. So, even if you think he is being wronged, there is no good outcome if he stays. Unless you are cheering on another party of course!

Thymeout · 28/06/2016 18:57

I think Yvette Cooper would have a good chance against Theresa May. The most experienced MP's refused to be in the shadow cabinet when Corbyn was elected. I wouldn't vote for Andy Burnham because he hasn't resigned.

Dan Jarvis has said he wouldn't stand, unfortunately. I like Keir Sturmer, but he hasn't been there long.

I take your point, but to my mind we actually need a decent Labour leader because proper democracy requires a strong opposition in place too

Of course, where on earth they'll find such a leader is something else again ...

temporaryusername · 28/06/2016 19:17

Yes, you are right Puzzled, an effective opposition is really important, whichever party you support. I don't particularly support any party, I would like to see both major parties with strong leaders. Like you can't put a name forward right now!

Very interesting - apparently JCs Gay pride heckler was a Blairite plant

www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/06/news-agenda-set/

Also those two clowns photographed at the Momentum rally pointing at the man with the t-shirt stating get rid of Blairite vermin.

Seriously, people have to start questioning the lies and spin they are fed by the establishment media in this country and consider just whose interests they serve.

SeaWitchly · 29/06/2016 06:35

There is massive grassroots support for Jeremy Corbyn whom the right wing establishment media is doing it's best to silence and discredit.

Even the Mirror with their outrageous front page telling JC to go. Comment after comment from the readers stating their disgust in the Mirror and how they do not speak for them, that they supported Jeremy Corbyn and his leadership mandate... however when the Mirror chose to print a review of reader's comments they amazingly appeared to show a mixed bag of views, some pro Corbyn, some anti and some expressing regret but agreeing he must go. It was not an honest review of the readers comments at all.

The UK population needs to start questioning the lies and spin we are routinely fed by both political parties, the elite and the establishment media.

Charley50 · 29/06/2016 07:27

I agree SeaWitchly. There are underlying agendas going on here, and narratives designed to take away from the erosion of jobs and worker's rights, putting the blame on Corbyn and 'racists,' taking the focus away from the culprits here.

Dozer · 29/06/2016 07:31

The right wing media IS anti Corbyn, and reporting is very biased, but he does not seem to have "grassroots" support from the actual electorate, just from the left wing of Labour in England. That won't be enough to get elected. He also failed in the europe campaign to highlight how tory policies have led to many of the problems people are angry about.

The MPs who have no confidence in him are not all blairites by any stretch.

Really dislike yvette cooper. Way too blairite.

howabout · 29/06/2016 08:34

Struggling to see what the right wing remainers have to gain from splitting the LP over what increasingly looks like yesterday's discussion - surely it would make more sense for them to cross over to the Liberal benches and have done? At this rate they will either actually get deselected if Corbyn wins again or win the battle and go on to get electorally wiped out by UKIP on one hand and the Liberals on the other.

lljkk · 29/06/2016 08:50

That craigmurray site is full of conspiracy theories. If you have a credible story, why link to the most dodgy conspiracy site place to support it?

Thymeout · 29/06/2016 09:02

No - if they win, they will be able to replace him with an ELECTABLE leader. And they are not 'the right', but the right, centre and moderate left. Everyone except an ever-diminishing cadre of of hard-liners.

And what are Corbyn's plans for today, when the nation is in crisis? He's off to hold a demo where he will make his stock speech about peace, love and eradicating poverty - you know, the sort of thing that everyone believes in. And they will all stand round and light candles and sing 'Imagine'. While behind the scenes the trots and the tories will be rubbing their hands with glee.

LadyRataxes · 29/06/2016 11:11

I don't think there is massive grass roots support across the electorate - he has just succeeded in motivating a certain part of the labour party (effectively students/young grads as far as I know) - I'm not sure this even speaks to the silent/unrepresented majority- e.g. the working class who voted for Brexit.
He is the type of person who has never had to make hard decisions about his principles as he's never been elected and had to make any decisions.
Yes the media is right wing but this isn't going to change before the next general election so he has to be able to use it in some way
