You know what I don't know. I really don't. I don't know if there's a line or what. Maybe if we do our best that's good enough. But we shall see. I think when you're a parent, some things you think and say rub off on your kids don't they. I know it happened to me when I was a child

SquidgeyMidgey · 09/06/2016 21:33

My DH always holds doors for me, doesn't go as far as car doors or pulling out chairs. He will always hold a door for anyone coming along behind but one day a woman came behind, stopped midway and full on ranted at him, properly turning the air blue. So he let go of the rather large and very heavy glass door and walked away.

Yeah I get that. But I think our children (I hope) are growing up in a world very different to even the world 20 years ago. Hopefully things like that will fade out and cease to exist one day. We can hope.

Well religion didnt do it, so hopefully education, equality and compassion can.

WeAreTheOthers · 09/06/2016 21:40

I take the view that if they do it for me I don't have to do it myself.

Querty12345 · 09/06/2016 21:46

you think that, that's why you're a feminist.

Querty12345 · 09/06/2016 21:47

I'm feeling really zen right now. Like I'm learning, taking things in.

Thats an ambiguous statement that could be made by any major world religion.
Things dont fade out, people work to change them for the better.

ILoveDolly · 09/06/2016 22:11

I love it. Sometimes I like to hold the door open for older men though, just to mess with them
